[Bug 1056978] Re: Resizing windows by grabbing window borders is difficult
The Greybird-accessibility theme is indeed the recommended way if you wish to use Greybird with thicker borders. The accessibility theme is not 100% complete and might be slightly outdated but should provide what is needed to workaround this bug. [Bug 1777621] [NEW] xrandr fails to change into the native resolution, useless setup whitout Wayland
Public bug reported: Hello I have found bugs from Ubuntu 18.04 (form 16.04 by do-release-upgrade) a) xrandr fails to change into native resolution b) disabling Wayland cause “Out of Range” → can’t login at all (no login via HDMI or virtual TTY:s) c) X fails to detect old VGA monitor (ViewSonic VA902) native resolution (this is a persistent bug) I have used dual monitor setup over a decade, started with Etch and turned into Ubuntu some years ago. First monitor is connected via HDMI and second one by VGA. During Ubuntu installations/updates resolution has been problem, with xrandr etc I have managed situation until now. I have tested: 1) 16.04 & Radeon works OK with 60 Hz VGA modeline 2) 18.04 & Radeon: HDMI is OK but VGA cant’t go into the native resolution 3) 18.04 & Intel: HDMI is OK but VGA cant’t go into the native resolution 4) 18.04 & Radeon VGA without Wayland is Out of Range and useless 5) 18.04 & Intel & xrandr with “easy” modeline do not work 6) 18.04 & Radeon & xrandr with “easy” modeline do not work pg@pg-desktop:~$ xrandr --newmode 1280x1024_40.00 69.75 1280 1336 1472 1664 1024 1025 1028 1048 -HSync +Vsync pg@pg-desktop:~$ xrandr --verbose --addmode XWAYLAND1 1280x1024_40.00 pg@pg-desktop:~$ xrandr --verbose --output XWAYLAND1 --mode 1280x1024_40.00 screen 0: 2560x1024 677x271 mm 95.98dpi crtc 1: 1280x1024_40.00 40.00 +1280+0 "XWAYLAND1" xrandr: Configure crtc 1 failed crtc 0: disable crtc 1: disable screen 0: revert crtc 0: revert crtc 1: revert pg@pg-desktop:~$ lspci -k | grep -iEA5 'vga|3d|display' 00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation Xeon E3-1200 v3/4th Gen Core Processor Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 06) Subsystem: ASRock Incorporation Xeon E3-1200 v3/4th Gen Core Processor Integrated Graphics Controller Kernel driver in use: i915 Kernel modules: i915 00:03.0 Audio device: Intel Corporation Xeon E3-1200 v3/4th Gen Core Processor HD Audio Controller (rev 06) Subsystem: ASRock Incorporation Xeon E3-1200 v3/4th Gen Core Processor HD Audio Controller pg@pg-desktop:~$ more /var/log/Xorg.0.log | grep EE (WW) warning, (EE) error, (NI) not implemented, (??) unknown. pg@pg-desktop:~$ more /var/log/Xorg.0.log | grep WW (WW) warning, (EE) error, (NI) not implemented, (??) unknown. [Bug 1768121] Re: Mainline Kernel since 4.16.4 has postinstall script error
This is fixed partly in the the bug https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1766728 by updating Xenial package linux-base to include linux-update-symlinks binary. No fix for Trusty available so far, but the Xenial fix seems to working also with Trusty by updating linux-base to version 4.5. Other error with libssl1.1 can be workaround at least by installing PPA ppa:ondrej/nginx-mainline. That package contains among the nginx binaries also newer version of OpenSSL package (that seems to be) required by linux-4.16.4 onwards. I used both workarounds with my Trusty box and got linux-4.16.7 installed OK, so far so good... -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1768121 Title: Mainline Kernel since 4.16.4 has postinstall script error To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1768121/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1761623] [NEW] [UIFe] Fix inconsistencies in the elementary-xfce icon theme
Public bug reported: To make the Xubuntu UI as consistent as possible for the LTS, we are requesting an UI freeze exception for the xubuntu-artwork package. The upstream elementary icon theme has moved onto a new shade of green. The elementary-xfce theme has been updated to reflect this during the cycle but not all of the icons are updated yet. The new version brings the rest of the icons to the new green shade. [Bug 1508192] Re: Mousepad search highlights hard to see
The bug is a combination of two issues: 1) A bug in Mousepad, which makes Mousepad not respect the set "search-match" style; when you highlight all search matches, the background for the highlights is always light yellow 2) An accessibility issue in the color scheme (shipped in xubuntu-artwork) which makes the current search match not distinguishable enough. This can be fixed by changing the generic selection color. Thus, targetting xubuntu-artwork too (and assigning myself to that one). ** Also affects: xubuntu-artwork (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Changed in: xubuntu-artwork (Ubuntu) Status: New => Confirmed ** Changed in: xubuntu-artwork (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => Medium ** Changed in: xubuntu-artwork (Ubuntu) Assignee: (unassigned) => Pasi Lallinaho (knome) ** Description changed: In Xubuntu using Mousepad with the default Xubuntu Light colour scheme it is hard to differentiate between the searched term and the rest of the text.
