[Bug 1897393] [NEW] After update Keyboard and mouse interface are screwed up

2020-09-26 Thread Patrick G
Public bug reported:

1. Mouse double click stopped working. Had to go into Accessibility
settings to get it back and still is not the same.

2. Keyboard is not accepting the first letter pressed after not being
used for a minute or more. It is like the keyboard buffer has to "wake-
up". Also keyboard response is very different.

Both my main keyboard and mouse are wired interfaces to the computer. I
have tried my alternate, Wireless keyboard and mouse and both problems
persist.

[Bug 864739] Re: Ubuntu doesn't work on HP Elitebook 8560w

2012-03-05 Thread Patrick G
As being a rookie in Linux,

I'm having the same error : attached scsi removable disk
On a asus 5750G with Nvidia Gforce 520M

It is running Windows 7 and I have Ubuntu 11.10 booting from an USB
device

I see a solution changing nouveau.modeset=0

How/where do I add it
I cant get into Ubuntu at all so I guess I should do this either during boot
(when ?) or changing something in the files on the USB drive.
the file: to /etc/default/grub is not on the usb drive.

I'm really new to all of this so step by step help would be appreciated.

[Bug 659084] Re: 2.6.35-22-virtual is missing nfs modules

2010-10-14 Thread Patrick G.
@Scott

Thank you for this quick'n'dirty fix ;)
NFS seems to work.

-virtual is missing at least those modules:

kernel/fs/nfs/nfs.ko
kernel/fs/lockd/lockd.ko
kernel/fs/fscache/fscache.ko
kernel/fs/nfs_common/nfs_acl.ko
kernel/net/sunrpc/auth_gss/auth_rpcgss.ko
kernel/net/sunrpc/sunrpc.ko

Hope to see a fix soon.

[Bug 222786] [NEW] Hardy Trash bin disappears on changing user

2008-04-26 Thread Patrick G
Public bug reported:

The GNOME Panel 2.22.1.2: Whenever I change user and then I get back to the
previous one the Trash Bin is not there. If I try adding it back by means of
the Add Top Panel application, it doesn't appear. Nothing happens, no matter
how many times I click on the Add to Panel selection. Weirdly, when I reboot
the Trash bin is back again, and surprisingly as many instances of it as are
the clicks I spent on trying to revive it when it had gone.
Thanks a lot!
