[Bug 1970807] Re: Incompatible graphmath.ppu unit
The upgrade process *should not* remove lazarus and fpc, that's a bug. Do you happen to have the logs of when this happened such that we can figure out why there were removed? However, the install process doesn't put anything in .lazarus. If anything, that's left over from the previous version (as stuff in the home folder is not to be touched during removal). [Bug 1970194] Re: ubuntu 22.04 package wordpress incompatible with default php version 8.1
@Simon, thanks for the reply. Yes, it was about "not well maintained". I'm well aware how Ubuntu works as I have contributed in the past, although nowadays nearly all my work flows in via Debian. What I meant explicitly here is that the problem related to the shiny new PHP in the last Ubuntu release was solved in Debian before the Ubuntu release and would have been automatically shipped (if I counted correctly) with the Ubuntu release if it were not have been for the Ubuntu delta. I didn't say nor intended that Ubuntu should be following the latest upstream in released suites, we don't do that in Debian either (except for the rare exceptions to that rule). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1970194 Title: ubuntu 22.04 package wordpress incompatible with default php version 8.1 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/wordpress/+bug/1970194/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1970194] Re: ubuntu 22.04 package wordpress incompatible with default php version 8.1
Hmm, I don't like the tone of @Simon, but I see where it's coming from. wordpress is one of those packages where it's biting Ubuntu's users that Ubuntu choose to use MySQL, while Debian choose MariaDB. Normally, most packages are maintained in Debian changes there flow into Ubuntu automatically. However, MySQL requires changes to the wordpress package that haven't been made in Debian. Therefore wordpress needs to be updated for all the relevant Debian updates, and unfortunately that didn't happen with the latest version. It would be good if the delta could be merged in Debian somehow, but I suspect it needs work on the Ubuntu side to prepare that. [Bug 1399945] Re: Settings, Preferences, ect. - All keyboard input is added twice
I just found this link¹; does it help to prevent the issue? ''' Typing in edit fields generate duplicate letters This is more likely to happen under Ubuntu and Ubunto derived distros, and with GNOME Desktop but other distros/Desktop environments can be affected too. The problem is originated by bugs in the ibus Input Method System. Unfortunately Ibus is the default input method of GNOME desktop. If you don't know what an IM is, this means that you do not need it, and therefore the easiest way is to disable IM's at all. In order to do that you have a number of options, namely: 1 - Disable (or set to "none") the Input Method in System Settings->Preferences->Input Method 2 - Add the three following lines in /etc/profile (system wide) export GTK_IM_MODULE=gtk-im-context-simple export QT_IM_MODULE=simple export XMODIFIERS=@im=none 3 - Add a file named input_method.sh containing just the 3 lines above in /etc/profile.d (system wide) 4 - Add the 3 lines above in the home directory ~/.xprofile (per user). If there's no ~/.xprofile in your home directory, you should create one. 5 - Create a Lazarus launching script containing the same 3 lines. (affects only Lazarus) Methods 1 and 2 may not survive after a system update, while 3,4 and 5 will. Be aware that both GTK and QT applications may change dynamically the IM. If you experience the problem in an apparently random way, chances are good that some other application is enabling again an IM and fails to set to default when terminates. If such is the case method 5 is the only one suitable. You may find more information about Input Methods, and how to deal with them in: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/I18N/InputMethods[2] (This is Fedora specific but most informations apply in general) http://www.pinyinjoe.com/linux/ubuntu-12-chinese-setup.htm[3] (This is Ubuntu specific, but again most informations apply in general. *** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1568072 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1568072 Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. This particular bug has already been reported and is a duplicate of bug 1568072, so it is being marked as such. The issue you are encountering is that you installed the fpc package from upstream (probably when you were installing the lazarus package). The lazarus team is not making fpc packages that are fully compatible with how things are done in Debian/Ubuntu. That is not something that is desirable to fix on our side. However, we normally work around that issue, but that work around was temporarily missed, so the package that finally went into Xenial doesn't have it. You can easily fix the issue on your system by running apt-get remove fpc apt-get install fpc ** This bug has been marked a duplicate of bug 1568072 please make sure that the Debian/Ubuntu package replaces the package provided by upstream -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1687456 Title: package fp-compiler-3.0.0 (not installed) failed to install/upgrade: trying to overwrite '/usr/lib/fpc/3.0.0/ppcx64', which is also in package fpc 3.0.0 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/fpc/+bug/1687456/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Sleeping on it another night makes sense. I understand what I was doing wrong yesterday, I forgot to change the rrd file definition when changing the poller interval.
