[Bug 444630] Re: does not list any messages anymore
Hi! I am also affected by this bug. I have an SMTP only account for sending mail and an Exchange MAPI acoount for receiving mail. All mail received through the MAPI account is copied to the local inbox by a filter rule. If I disable the "copy all" rule then indicator-applet works fine and shows the number of new messages in the MAPI account. But with the rule activated the new mail counter always shows zero and I have the following message in .xsession-errors: ** (evolution:11278): WARNING **: Unable to find account that matches mbox:/home/kerekfyp/.evolution/mail/local#Inbox It seems that I have found a workaround for this: set up a fake POP3 account for a non-exsistent server (eg. localhost). After this tweak the indicator-applet shows the actual count of new messages for the POP3 account. yes, Thunderbird and many other IMAP clients are able to retrieve the correct headers from Gmail (either accidentally or by puspose). the whole thing depends on the way how the client requests the headers from the Gmail server. it turned out that using the ENVELOPE imap command works around this problem since GImap responds to such a request correctly. thunderbird has a hidden config option to force the ENVELOPE command. (mail.imap.use_envelope_cmd = true) (ref: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Using_Gmail_with_Thunderbird_and_Mozilla_Suite#IMAP ) (ref: http://groups.google.com/group/Gmail-Help-POP-and-IMAP-en/browse_thread/thread/85dce8c24385d56f/0a91eec6ed6e0f32?lnk=gst&q= ) it would be very good to have a similar config option for evolution. but after all, it _IS_ a Gmail bug ... :-( -- evolution character encoding problem in "from" field https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/184537 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Sebastien, are you sure this is fixed in hardy? because the last comment states that is was fixed in 2.23. http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=302991#c24 more info: i can also confirm this bug. it seems to be specific to gmail imap implementation. i have two imap accounts set up in evolution: one for gmail imap and one for my work imap server. my work messages are forwarded to my gmail mailbox and a copy of them is also kept in my work mailbox. this setup makes me able to view the same message both on gmail imap and my work imap server. and the strange thing is that while the work imap account show the corrent FROM lines the gmail imap account still shows =?ISO-8895-1? things. the above observation makes me feel that while evolution is able to render RFC2047 FROM lines correctly, gmail's imap server somehow makes evolution to screw things up -- evolution character encoding problem in "from" field https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/184537 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 223636] Re: gvfs should unmount remote mounts on network disconnect
These questions definitely need further investigation. :-) First of all we need to know * which backends are able to recover from a temporary connection drop and * which backends are able to recover from a permanent connection drop with IP address change. According to my experiences sftp backend recovers quite well from temporary drops but it fails to recover from IP address change. (since it is using ssh over TCP behind the scenes) My very new idea: in if-up we should somehow detect whether or not the IP address has changed since the last connection and we should unmount remote shares only if it has changed. Let the wireless network be: 192.168.6.0/24 (broadcast 192.168.6.255) Let's suppose that the wired connection was active when I started my gnome session. Then after switching to the wireless connection gvfs still keeps sending NMB name lookup queries to 192.168.5.255 which is WRONG. Workaround: $ killall gvfsd-smb-browse Putting the above line in some if-up/if-down script makes the problem go away. $ dpkg -l | grep gvfs| cat ii gvfs 0.2.3-0ubuntu4 userspace virtual filesystem - server ii gvfs-backends 0.2.3-0ubuntu4 userspace virtual filesystem - backends ii gvfs-bin 0.2.3-0ubuntu4 userspace virtual filesystem - binaries ii gvfs-fuse 0.2.3-0ubuntu4 userspace virtual filesystem - fuse server ii libgvfscommon0 0.2.3-0ubuntu4 userspace virtual filesystem - library $ cat /etc/lsb-release DISTRIB_ID=Ubuntu DISTRIB_RELEASE=8.04 DISTRIB_CODENAME=hardy DISTRIB_DESCRIPTION="Ubuntu 8.04" ** Affects: gvfs (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- gvfs samba browsing broken in hardy https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/223622 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 199439] [NEW] magyar.ldf shipped with texlive is outdated
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: texlive-latex-base The magyar.ldf file shipped with texlive is very outdated. Please update to the most recent version available on CTAN: http://www.ctan.org/tex-archive/language/hungarian/babel/magyar.ldf This upgrade is very important if someone is intended to create hungarian documents using LaTeX since the old version makes so many mistakes and conflicts with so many other TeX packages. I have checked the most recent hardy package: texlive-lang- hungarian_2007.dfsg.3-1_all.deb The problem is still present in this package. [Bug 197995] [NEW] nm-applet can't handle wlan SSIDs containing non-ASCII chars
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: network-manager-gnome Recently I have discovered that nm-applet does not list wlan networks with non-ASCII characters in the SSID name. However iwlist detects and shows the network and since this certain SSID contains a non-UTF-8 character the terminal only shows me a "?". You may think that this bug is a duplicate of #27171 or #75554 but I think it is a different bug because it is about the handling of non- ASCII/non-UTF-8 characters in nm-applet. $ dpkg -l | grep network-manager-gnome ii network-manager-gnome 0.6.5-0ubuntu10 network management framework (GNOME frontend $ cat /etc/lsb-release DISTRIB_ID=Ubuntu DISTRIB_RELEASE=7.10 DISTRIB_CODENAME=gutsy DISTRIB_DESCRIPTION="Ubuntu 7.10" ** Affects: network-manager-applet (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- nm-applet can't handle wlan SSIDs containing non-ASCII chars https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/197995 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 191771] [NEW] openoffice can't open files on public smb share
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: openoffice.org If I am trying to open a .doc file from nautilus with openoffice on a password protected SMB share, it works great. But if the SMB share is public, so no user/password is needed to connect to it, openoffice fails to open if with 'General internet error' message. Meanwhile, if I do specify my user name and password explicitly (smb://[EMAIL PROTECTED]/foo/bar), openoffice is able to open the file. And after successfully opening the file, subsequent attempts to open the same file without specifying the user name also works. (Note: I have saved my smb password in gnome keyring.) In my interpretation it seems that - if gnome vfs is connected without username to the SMB server then openoffice fails to open anything with 'General internet error' message. - if gnome vfs is connected with username/password to the SMB server then openoffice opens files OK. ** Affects: openoffice.org (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- openoffice can't open files on public smb share https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/191771 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
