[Bug 555556] Re: Printer attempts to print on paper as if paper was loaded landscape

2010-04-18 Thread Psycona
This appears to be an upstream bug:

As per http://hplipopensource.com/node/340, selecting Scale to fit or
Print to fit in appropriate controls will restore printing.

However, this breaks duplex printing as well.

[Bug 556169] Re: OpenOfficer crashes when saving RTF files

2010-04-06 Thread Psycona
Attached. I stress that this is not the only document which caused the
crash, but the other one I needed to keep working on and so converted to
.odt.

It was created, from scratch, from OpenOffice as a blank file, initially
saved as *.odt, then converted to *.rtf when I remembered what other
computers I would need to use to edit it.

[Bug 555556] [NEW] Printer attempts to print on paper as if paper was loaded landscape

2010-04-05 Thread Psycona
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: hplip

I have an OfficeJet Pro K550 which loads paper short-end first, in
traditional fashion.

Since upgrading to the Karmic beta, it attempts to print as if the paper
was loaded long-edge first. IT will get to the end of the first line,
then stop with a paper jam error.

The printer can print test pages from its internal memory without being
connected to the computer.

A test page printed from CUPS or hp-toolbox shows a strip of the side of
the sheet, printed across the top.

[Bug 444295] [NEW] Content selector drop-down has no effect

2009-10-06 Thread Psycona
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gwibber

Ubuntu Karmic Koala 9.10 (Development Branch)
gwibber 2.0.0~bzr449-0

When the side-bar Account tree is switched off, there is a drop-down
at the top of the gwibber window which fulfills the same function -
selecting displayed content.

This drop-down has no effect. Switching between Home/messages/etc.
requires activating the Account tree, selecting the desired content,
then de-activating the Account tree again.

[Bug 442741] [NEW] *.doc mimetype listed in kde.xml messes up filetype handling

2009-10-04 Thread Psycona
Public bug reported:

In /usr/share/mime/packages/kde.xml, the Microsoft Word *.doc format is
listed as plain text, apparently for purposes of disambiguation.

This is not only inaccurate, but breaks common sense reasonable doctype
handling in file managers, making it impossible to have sane open with
configurations for both *.docs and for plain text files.

[Bug 441173] [NEW] Fails to identify keyboard USB event

2009-10-03 Thread Psycona
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: keytouch-editor

Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic Koala (Development Branch)

keytouch-editor:
  Installed: 1:3.1.3-3

Upon startup, keytouch-editor asks the user to identify the correct USB
event device. USB keyboards have two events, one of which is the
additional keys.

keytouch-editor does not identify either event: It identifies my
joystick, and ACPI device.

However, while running keytouch the standard keyboard keys work
flawlessly, and some extra keys, specifically volume and mute, work as
expected.
