[Bug 364156] Re: powernow-k8: BIOS does not provide ACPI -PSS objects in a way that Linux understands

2009-06-26 Thread Pyoverdine
Hello,
Well, I don't know exactly but:
-reboot fail (it freeze on test page, testing USB. Reboot is ok with M$ XP)
-Hiberner and Mettre en veille crash (Sorry I don't know those
translations: may be sleep and warm-boot? Those are options in Ubuntu Jaunty.
Last option is stop the computer, before is reboot, before is Hiberner and
before is Mettre ne veille)
I do not know if that work before (I'm quite new user of Ubuntu) and when I
tested Hiberner or Mettre en veille, I've got to unplug my computer, so I don't
try much. I tested that to try to wake-up my computer on a precise time. But I
don't know if there's any relation with those messages.

If I can help, tell me.

[Bug 365059] [NEW] Jaunty, FGLRX Drivers crash. Out of range HorizSync. Radeon HD 3200

2009-04-22 Thread Pyoverdine
Public bug reported:

Hello,
I'm on Jaunty 64 bytes, AMD 64. Chipset Radeon HD 3200.
Installing proprietary fglrx drivers result in a screen HorizSync out of range
(screen support 30-70).
Adding:
HorizSync 30.0 - 70.0
VertRefresh 50.0 - 160.0
in xorg.conf have no effect.
Installing ati-driver-installer-9-4-x86.x86_64, 9.3, 9.2 result in similar
problem.

I can send you files you want...

Laurent

[Bug 364156] Re: powernow-k8: BIOS does not provide ACPI -PSS objects in a way that Linux understands

2009-04-22 Thread Pyoverdine
Hello,
@Leo Milano: I don't know. If you think that's the same, how can I do (or witch
people can) mark it as duplicate of 363868 bug?
(I send my bios options Scott James Remnant, thinking that it may contain
stupid errors: I'm not specialist).
If I can help, tell me...

And the Jaunty CPU Info.

2008-10-31 Thread Pyoverdine
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 269539 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/269539

Well...
I'm really sure...
The problem was that in the menu.lst (of grub)...
It appear that lines with problem was:

titleUbuntu 8.10, kernel 2.6.27-7-generic
root(hd1,0)
kernel/boot/vmlinuz-2.6.27-7-generic
root=UUID=3d06688c-29d9-4ceb-bc95-7a5a798294ba ro quiet splash
quiet

but /boot/initrd.img-2.6.24-21-generic was in de grub directory, so I just add
initrd/boot/initrd.img-2.6.24-21-generic
between splash and quiet to the menu.lst and it work find!!!

So, I don't know if it was the same problem...
(And upgrade was by gksu 'update-manager -d -c')
Now, it works find!
Think to all!!!

2008-10-30 Thread Pyoverdine

Did you select the experimental 3 way merge during kernel setup ?
Yes I select the 3 way merge, because :
1) I have on option in grub to allow my hard disks to be detected. So I have
add a all_generic_ide.
2) My graphic card, NVidia GeForce4 MX440, was not clearly recognised by Ubuntu
8.4, so it cost me a lot to make it work.

If you need anything else: said it
