[Bug 1181481] Re: Disconnecting from external monitor - no laptop video
Two unrelated projects. Ubuntu's "sputnik" is a wiki / CMS. (Try "apt- get sputnik".) For some reason, though, Dell's Sputnik got added as an upstream project. I am not sure why or by who. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1181481 Title: Disconnecting from external monitor - no laptop video To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/dell-sputnik/+bug/1181481/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 593565] Re: 'markdown' and 'python-markdown' both deliver /usr/bin/markdown and don't conflict
Something starting with "markdown" would be better than "python- markdown". This way the user can see it as an option with tab- completion. "markdown_py" sounds fine. -- 'markdown' and 'python-markdown' both deliver /usr/bin/markdown and don't conflict https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/593565 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 269478] Re: Choosing "Log Out"/"Shut Down" a second time hides the window
dmandell is totally right. I had never noticed this before, but in fact, the shut down menu actually is on top and is clickable, even though it is invisible. This only makes the problem more severe, though. On the other hand, a few clarifications: 1. This is not specific to Firefox. The same happens if the window in front is OpenOffice, Epiphany,gnome-terminal, etc. 2. The window does not need to be maximized. If the top window isn't maximized, then only the part covered by it is invisible. 3. Whether the Shut Down menu becomes insivible seems to depend a little on what manipulations had been done with the windows before. For me, a way to make this happen consistently is to toggle through the windows with Alt-Tab before clicking on the shutdown button in the panel. -- Choosing "Log Out"/"Shut Down" a second time hides the window https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/269478 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Indeed "compiz --replace" fixes the problem, but having to run it every time after a suspend is not fun, since it takes some time for the machine to become usable again, and occasionally it just freezes. -- garbled icons in alt-tab task switcher https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/282324 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 269478] Re: Choosing "Log Out"/"Shut Down" a second time hides the window
In my case the shut down menu appears under other windows the first time around. Note that the effect of this bug is that the system may shut down unexpectedly. I.e., I may click on the shutdown icon planning to suspend, see that nothing happens (since the window would be hidden), continue to work, only to have the system shutdown one minute later. I am surprised this is marked as low priority. -- Choosing "Log Out"/"Shut Down" a second time hides the window https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/269478 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 277653] Re: Intrepid Beta boot fails on motherboard Intel DG45ID
I got mine working. It turned out that my installation ended up somehow confused about the kernel that it had: it had the modules for the latest kernel (2.6.27-4, I think), while the actual kernel was older (2.6.26). I am guessing this had something to do with the fact that I was installing over an old installation and didn't ask for the hdd to be formatted. I ended up deleting all the old system files and doing the installation again. After that it worked. -- Intrepid Beta boot fails on motherboard Intel DG45ID https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/277653 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 277653] Re: Intrepid Beta boot fails on motherboard Intel DG45ID
Same with 32-bin ubuntu 8.10 beta on Toshiba R500, except: 1. LiveCD works fine. 2. After the installation, I get the same message as described by the original poster, and X _is_ frozen, but the computer is not.
