[Bug 1711126] [NEW] HP Spectre x360 13-w0XX, Realtek ALC295, Black Headphone Out, No sound at all
Public bug reported: Most things work well, including - Sound works on the internal speakers - The internal microphone works (although when brought to 100% the sound saturates, but it's not problematic) - The external microphone works when connected (same issue) - The headphone is correctly detected (note: it's the same plug for the headphone and the mic, I'm using both a stereo headphone and a OnePlus 5 free-hands kit to test) However the problem is that I do not hear the audio output in the headset. I do hear some squeaking sound whenever a sound starts playing. I've fiddled all things I could find using the "HDA Analyzer" script, but nothing changed. I also have tried all solutions from Google results for both this chip and this line of computers (which do all have sound issues, although not this one). I also tried a Windows reboot but to no effect. Thanks for help :) ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: elementary 0.4.1 Package: alsa-base 1.0.25+dfsg-0ubuntu5 [origin: Ubuntu] ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 4.10.0-30.34~16.04.1-generic 4.10.17 Uname: Linux 4.10.0-30-generic x86_64 NonfreeKernelModules: wl ApportVersion: 2.20.1-0ubuntu2.10 Architecture: amd64 AudioDevicesInUse: USERPID ACCESS COMMAND /dev/snd/pcmC0D0c: remy 9209 F...m pulseaudio /dev/snd/controlC0: remy 9209 F pulseaudio CurrentDesktop: Pantheon Date: Wed Aug 16 14:29:54 2017 InstallationDate: Installed on 2017-05-20 (87 days ago) InstallationMedia: elementary OS 0.4.1 "Loki" - Stable amd64 (20170517) PackageArchitecture: all SourcePackage: alsa-driver Symptom: audio Symptom_AlsaPlaybackTest: ALSA playback test through plughw:PCH failed Symptom_Card: Built-in Audio - HDA Intel PCH Symptom_Jack: Black Headphone Out, Left Symptom_Type: No sound at all Title: [HP Spectre x360 Convertible 13-w0XX, Realtek ALC295, Black Headphone Out, Left] No sound at all UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) dmi.bios.date: 12/01/2016 dmi.bios.vendor: American Megatrends Inc. dmi.bios.version: F.20 dmi.board.asset.tag: Base Board Asset Tag dmi.board.name: 827E dmi.board.vendor: HP dmi.board.version: 94.54 dmi.chassis.type: 31 dmi.chassis.vendor: HP dmi.chassis.version: Chassis Version dmi.modalias: dmi:bvnAmericanMegatrendsInc.:bvrF.20:bd12/01/2016:svnHP:pnHPSpectrex360Convertible13-w0XX:pvr:rvnHP:rn827E:rvr94.54:cvnHP:ct31:cvrChassisVersion: dmi.product.name: HP Spectre x360 Convertible 13-w0XX dmi.sys.vendor: HP mtime.conffile..etc.modprobe.d.alsa-base.conf: 2017-08-16T13:58:07.139250 ** Affects: alsa-driver (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug loki third-party-packages -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1711126 Title: HP Spectre x360 13-w0XX, Realtek ALC295, Black Headphone Out, No sound at all To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/alsa-driver/+bug/1711126/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 154085] Dialog box shows up when I type and get validated before I can read them
Public bug reported: Sometimes when (often) I type (on IM or OOo or whatever), an application decides to show up a dialog box (whatever the program is, I'm not talking about a specific program, it's a general-purpose problem) that is focused on top and before I could realize that the box had showed up I type on the space bar : this valid the default choice even if I did not wanted to ! [Bug 150177] Deskbar applet freezes any time whatever I ask
Public bug reported: When I hit ALT+F3, the deskbar is shown (in its new awful window... why has it been changed ? was much better in mac-like style), and I can start to type. But after a few letters, nothing has been shown, and the deksbar freezes... It just freezes until I kill it (I left it several hours without a result). Looks like that : http://hyperthese.net/Bordel/deskbarfreeze.png (exactly that, I don't have any interactivity anymore with the deskbar, and if I put a window over, it is not redrawn). This bug does not use additional CPU (no 100% used CPU at all), and I've noticed some changes if I use the Search selection when triggering the shortcut : it still does not show any result and freezes, but it waits until the mouse goes over the window to freeze... ** Affects: deskbar-applet (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Deskbar applet freezes any time whatever I ask https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/150177 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 130290] [gutsy] detects wifi card and networks but can't connect
Public bug reported: With ubuntu gutsy, the network manager detects both my ethernet card and my wifi card. [Bug 128904] Re: [Gutsy] apport is not getting the bug crash
Well, I'm not sure I was clear enough : I was hearing music in quodlibet, then I activated the systray icon plugin of quod libet, witch made the systray icon appear in the systray. [Bug 56184] Re: Xorg crashes on various occasions
Here are my logs/configuration file, but nothing happened since weeks (I stopped doing extensive use of my RAM because I don't have time anymore -_-). About my girlfriend's computer, I should be able to attach its logs and configuration (practicaly non-altered, on contrary of mine). She continues to have those problems ** Attachment added: My logs/conf http://librarian.launchpad.net/4713343/xorg_bug.tar.bz2 -- Xorg crashes on various occasions https://launchpad.net/bugs/56184 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 56184] Xorg crashes on various occasions
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xorg I noticed an huge amount of xorg crashes on a lot of differents occasions. Crashes always happens when I do one of thoses actions : - use firefox : firefox usual crash itself when it does parse intensive javascript (gmail...), but that's not this bug object. Whatever the action I do, it can, randomly (and very very rarely), totaly freeze xorg (excepted sometimes the mouse). On my computer (1 Go of RAM, AMD 64, Ubuntu Dapper Drake x86 with k7 kernel) it happened 1 time, but on my girlfriend's one (laptop, 256Mo of RAM, Pentium II, Ubuntu Dapper Drake x86) it happened several times - use a lot of RAM. Happened a lot of time with Eclipse, and mathematical applications. The crash that made me do that report was with Qalculate, when I asked it to derivate a 45000 entries plot. Then, that bug is quite embarrassing as bug, but could be more : if a privilege-less user can crash xorg by surfing the web, and the crash is obviously related to memory, there is (I think) a high risk to have some security hole... Oh, and I play the music using mpd. Then I can be sure that xorg is the only freezed software (even if it locks keyboard...), because the music is still playing when it crashes. And here is my uname -a : Linux HAL 2.6.15-26-k7 #1 SMP PREEMPT Thu Aug 3 03:40:32 UTC 2006 i686 GNU/Linux ** Affects: xorg (Ubuntu) Importance: Untriaged Status: Unconfirmed ** Visibility changed to: Public -- Xorg crashes on various occasions https://launchpad.net/bugs/56184 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
