[Bug 1711126] [NEW] HP Spectre x360 13-w0XX, Realtek ALC295, Black Headphone Out, No sound at all

2017-08-16 Thread Rémy Sanchez
Public bug reported:

Most things work well, including

- Sound works on the internal speakers
- The internal microphone works (although when brought to 100% the sound
saturates, but it's not problematic)
- The external microphone works when connected (same issue)
- The headphone is correctly detected

(note: it's the same plug for the headphone and the mic, I'm using both
a stereo headphone and a OnePlus 5 free-hands kit to test)

However the problem is that I do not hear the audio output in the
headset. I do hear some squeaking sound whenever a sound starts playing.

I've fiddled all things I could find using the "HDA Analyzer" script,
but nothing changed. I also have tried all solutions from Google results
for both this chip and this line of computers (which do all have sound
issues, although not this one). I also tried a Windows reboot but to no
effect.

Thanks for help :)

[Bug 397393] Re: can't bind to ::1

2010-09-27 Thread Rémy Sanchez
I've got the problem as well, Apache is not listening to IPv6 and any
attempt to add Listen [::]:80 or anything of the like results in an
error.

FYI, Debian's Apache runs IPv6 with no problem at all, and by default
(did not have to change anything in the conf to get it to listen to
tcp6).

[Bug 154085] Dialog box shows up when I type and get validated before I can read them

2007-10-18 Thread Rémy Sanchez
Public bug reported:

Sometimes when (often) I type (on IM or OOo or whatever), an application
decides to show up a dialog box (whatever the program is, I'm not
talking about a specific program, it's a general-purpose problem) that
is focused on top and before I could realize that the box had showed up
I type on the space bar : this valid the default choice even if I did
not wanted to !

I have several solutions for this :
  * Disable button checking with the space bar
  * Disable button checking with the space bar if a key has been pressed in the
last XX seconds (2 seconds ?)
  * Disable button checking with the space bar if the dialog was focused on top
of an other application

[Bug 150177] Deskbar applet freezes any time whatever I ask

2007-10-07 Thread Rémy Sanchez
Public bug reported:

When I hit ALT+F3, the deskbar is shown (in its new awful window... why
has it been changed ? was much better in mac-like style), and I can
start to type. But after a few letters, nothing has been shown, and the
deksbar freezes... It just freezes until I kill it (I left it several
hours without a result).

Looks like that : http://hyperthese.net/Bordel/deskbarfreeze.png
(exactly that, I don't have any interactivity anymore with the deskbar,
and if I put a window over, it is not redrawn).

This bug does not use additional CPU (no 100% used CPU at all), and I've
noticed some changes if I use the Search selection when triggering the
shortcut : it still does not show any result and freezes, but it waits
until the mouse goes over the window to freeze...

[Bug 130290] [gutsy] detects wifi card and networks but can't connect

2007-08-03 Thread Rémy Sanchez
Public bug reported:

With ubuntu gutsy, the network manager detects both my ethernet card and my
wifi card. When I plug the ethernet in, it configures the inteface correctly,
but if I ask to connect to my wifi (unencrypted), it just shows the
connecting animation for a few minutes and then fail silently and show the
not connected icon.
If I manually configure the network, the wifi works fine (but only after a
restart. If I don't restart the computer, I have to do ifup eth1)
And it was working fine with edgy (excepted sometimes when resuming after a
suspend)

[Bug 128904] Re: [Gutsy] apport is not getting the bug crash

2007-08-03 Thread Rémy Sanchez
Well, I'm not sure I was clear enough : I was hearing music in quodlibet, then
I activated the systray icon plugin of quod libet, witch made the systray
icon appear in the systray. But in the same time, I got a message box saying
that quod libet had crashed and asking me if I wanted to report the bug But
there was no but at all : quod libet was still alive, and I was still able to
use it.
So apport thought that quod libet crashed when I activated the systray icon,
but quod libet did not crashed.
And I cannot reproduce the bug, and since I've re-installed ubuntu, there is
nothing in /var/crash/

[Bug 128817] Weird screen brightness on Lenovo 3000 N100

2007-07-27 Thread Rémy Sanchez
Public bug reported:

My computer is a Lenovo 3000 N100 768-FKG and I am using gusty.
When I use the keys FN+Brightness up/down, it does not allow me to set all
levels of brightness : I can go to the lowest level but I cannot make the
screen brighter if I am upper than about 50%. Plus, the brightness bar that is
used to show up when you changes brightness does not shows up.
An other thing about this bar, is that it sometimes shows up and sets the
brightness to the maximum whatever was the previous level. It happens when I do
- when I think I do, because I was unable to reproduce it - some move in the
lower right corner of the touchpad.

[Bug 56184] Re: Xorg crashes on various occasions

2006-10-09 Thread Rémy Sanchez
Here are my logs/configuration file, but nothing happened since weeks (I
stopped doing extensive use of my RAM because I don't have time anymore
-_-).

About my girlfriend's computer, I should be able to attach its logs and
configuration (practicaly non-altered, on contrary of mine). She
continues to have those problems

[Bug 56184] Xorg crashes on various occasions

2006-08-12 Thread Rémy Sanchez
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xorg

I noticed an huge amount of xorg crashes on a lot of differents occasions.
Crashes always happens when I do one of thoses actions :
 - use firefox : firefox usual crash itself when it does parse intensive
javascript (gmail...), but that's not this bug object. Whatever the action I
do, it can, randomly (and very very rarely), totaly freeze xorg (excepted
sometimes the mouse). On my computer (1 Go of RAM, AMD 64, Ubuntu Dapper Drake
x86 with k7 kernel) it happened 1 time, but on my girlfriend's one (laptop,
256Mo of RAM, Pentium II, Ubuntu Dapper Drake x86) it happened several times
 - use a lot of RAM. Happened a lot of time with Eclipse, and mathematical
applications. The crash that made me do that report was with Qalculate, when I
asked it to derivate a 45000 entries plot.

Then, that bug is quite embarrassing as bug, but could be more : if a
privilege-less user can crash xorg by surfing the web, and the crash is
obviously related to memory, there is (I think) a high risk to have some
security hole...

Oh, and I play the music using mpd. Then I can be sure that xorg is the only
freezed software (even if it locks keyboard...), because the music is still
playing when it crashes. And here is my uname -a :
Linux HAL 2.6.15-26-k7 #1 SMP PREEMPT Thu Aug 3 03:40:32 UTC 2006 i686 GNU/Linux
