[Bug 329146] Re: nautilus unable to start on login

2010-05-08 Thread Rafael Carduz Rocha
It seems that my problem was this issue:
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=8686018
I solved it by moving all my files in the Desktop folder to a temp one... It is
probably a corrupted jpg file... Hope this solve others problems... It is still
a bug though...

2009-10-28 Thread Rafael Carduz Rocha
Hi, I don't know about the no-backfill xorg-server PPA. Will it do difference
in this? Have you experienced this bug before?
I am not certain if I should try it..
So far as I understand this bug is associate with certain videocard and maybe
yours isn't affected. From reading this thread I think it affects only 34xx
series...
I am using the radeon drive with acceleration and kenel 2.6.32.r5, it is ok,
but I still have some issues with virtualbox...

thanks

[Bug 413791] Re: fglrx does not support 2.6.31 kernel

2009-09-11 Thread Rafael Carduz Rocha
Hi,

This was not fixed for me with latest drivers and kubuntu karmic. If I have no
xorg.conf, I can login in kdm, but the drivers are not in use. If I generate a
xorg.conf with aticonfig --initial and reboot I get the same crash instead of
kdm.
Anyone else with this problem. I am thinking about a fresh install...

thanks,
rafael

[Bug 355495] Re: Jaunty: Display doesnt work for ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3470

2009-06-19 Thread Rafael Carduz Rocha
Hi Leo. Thanks for helping me... Let me tell my whole story,lol... I was
using jaunty and yesterday trying to make my resolution output to
1360x768 so i could better use my lcd tv.

Then, for other reasons, I enabled proposal updates and did an
update... So when I restarted gdm it crashed. At that time I had not
read the threads explaining the bug, so i thought it had to do with
missconfiguring xorg... After restoring previous config I saw the
problem was not my 1360 modlines.

I them did a upgrade to karmic, thinking this would solve my problem
with the new kernel version. It did not... Them, through lynx I saw the
reports on this bug and purged fglxr. So i could access my desktop
again.

Trying to reinstall the drivers through apt repeated the crash. Today I
entered in ADM website, downloaded and installed Catalyst 9.6, but I
did not choose the build package option (I wonder if it makes any
difference), instead the direct install again the bug returned...

So I found this thread and tried what you suggested (removed amdpcsdb,
and the three aticonfig lines). Then I crashed with the gray box added
bellow the two ghost ubuntu logos...

So here I am now using ati free driver.

Is just me now? or anyone else with this bug? Should I file a bug in
karmic package?

[Bug 344586] Re: [jaunty] boot lvm+cryptsetup don't detect multiple disks in crypttab

2009-04-22 Thread Rafael Carduz Rocha
I still have this problem. More then one month with it...
My cryptroot is generated wrongly (I have four entries for the same disk and
none for the other...)
If I manually unzip fix it (remove three entries and add the missing one) and
pack again I get a kernel panic in boot...
Is it just me??

[Bug 344586] [NEW] [jaunty] boot lvm+cryptsetup don't detect multiple disks in crypttab

2009-03-17 Thread Rafael Carduz Rocha
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: cryptsetup

I have one single volume group over two physical volumes. I had a previous
encrypted whole filesystem (excluding /boot) created with hardy alternate. I
installed Jaunty (fresh installation) and I have 2:1.0.6-7ubuntu6 cryptsetup.
Before I could not get my volume group detected. I could just proceed with boot
after manual cryptsetup , vgscan and vgchange in busybox. After reading other
bugs reports I created the voilume groups with the same name they existed in
the previous installation.
Now the weird thing is that I am getting prompted for just one of the two
disks in the crypttab, what prevents my lvm root from being found. I am always
prompted for the first disk in the crypttab, the other is ignored. I changed
the order of them and I got prompt for the another and got the previous working
ignored. Something is preventing my initramfs to cryptsetup luksopen the second
disk in crypttab... This may be related to other bugs described, particulary
the 317297, but partially...
