[Bug 651008] Re: Regression in wireless performance under Maverick (broadcom)

2010-10-06 Thread Rafael Proença
Same here, I can confirm that.

At first I haven't noticed that it only happened while on battery power,
and after some testing it indeed is true.

Also, the workaround suggested by David
(https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/651008/comments/4)
does work as a charm.

I guess it is too late to get it fixed for maverick, but I hope the fix comes
along soon.
If there's anything I can help (testing, providing information), let me know.

[Bug 331522] Re: X1200: flickering after update on Jaunty

2009-05-05 Thread Rafael Proença
I am having the same problem on my notebook (Gateway W350a) with a ATI graphic
card (ATI Technologies Inc RS690M [Radeon X1200 Series]).
I have tried with the drivers ati, radeon, radeonhd and fglrx, none of
which worked properly (if worked at all).
I have a fresh Ubuntu 9.04 installation.

[Bug 199600] Re: aptoncd crashed with DBusException in call_blocking()

2008-05-09 Thread Rafael Proença
Hi Youssef,

I agree the package must be updated in hard, indeed.
But the restore functionality is definitively not essential for using aptoncd.
Once you have created the installation disc you can use it as any other
APT-compatible media, you just put it into the CD/DVD-ROM drive and Ubuntu is
going to ask you if you want to add the disc as an APT source, and by doing so
you can install any package from the disc just using Synaptic/Add-Remove
Applications/Update-Manager/apt-get/aptitude/adept or any other application
manager compatible with the APT.

But please, be patient, an updated package is comming.

Thanks for your interest in aptoncd.
Regards.

[Bug 174182] Re: Filesystem resource script is busted

2008-01-04 Thread Rafael Proença
Unfortunately does not seem to solve completely. After some tests I
realized that.

When I turn off the primary server the secondary take control and mounts
the /dev/drbd0 and everything seems fine, but about 10 seconds later I
get this:

/var/log/ha-log:
ResourceManager[4421]:  2008/01/04_15:18:33 info: Running
/etc/ha.d/resource.d/filesystem /dev/drbd0 /replicado start
ResourceManager[4421]:  2008/01/04_15:18:33 ERROR: Return code 32 from
/etc/ha.d/resource.d/filesystem
ResourceManager[4421]: 2008/01/04_15:18:33 CRIT: Giving up resources due to
failure of filesystem::/dev/drbd0::/replicado

And then heartbeat goes down stopping all services/filesystems, and then I got
no working server.
I guess it is a problem with the filesystem script that Vitor posted (sorry, I
know I am not supposed to rely on this one).
Any ideas of how to get an Filesystem script that works?

[Bug 133339] [UVFe] Please upload aptoncd 0.1.95-1ubuntu1

2007-08-18 Thread Rafael Proença
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: aptoncd

Please upload aptoncd 0.1.95-1-ubuntu1 for Universe.

The package is available (ready and tested) here:
http://www.cypherbios.org/aptoncd/0.1.95/
This is all we (upstream developers) have been working for the last five months
for inclusion on Ubuntu Gutsy. It is a complete new version since the 0.1, with
complete code and GUI rewrite, that fixes all the opened bugs related to this
package and also closes some feature requests.

Michael Vogt is OK with this upload and if approved he is going to
sponsor it.

Thanks.

[Bug 133339] Re: [UVFe] Please upload aptoncd 0.1.95-1ubuntu1

2007-08-18 Thread Rafael Proença
It was in part my mistake, because the bugs I'd like to fix wasn't fixed
until last Wednesday, and it caused the delay in delivering the package.
But now they're fixed and ready to upload. I'm sorry for that delay.
This was done envisioning the QA for the user experience.

Is there any further information needed? I read the
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/FreezeExceptionProcess#head-9523bc4076ff011324d67cddc97969ec609618d6
and the only thing is missing here is a upstream changelog. Well, actually
there is no changelog from upstream, but as I'm the developer I can create one
(very superficial, indeed):

  - Complete code rewrite;
  - Complete GUI redesign;
  - Behaviour and usability improvements;
  - A lot of bug fixes;
  - Added possibility of the user choose the desired app for burning;
  - Added possibility of the user add an entire folder for scanning;
  - User can set --cache-dir=;
  - User can set --temp-dir=;
  - Refreshed dependencies;
  - Switch to python-distutils;

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

[Bug 115536] Re: apt-cdrom add fails to mount the medium

2007-06-27 Thread Rafael Proença
This is not a matter of how to make it work. I know how to fix it in a couple
of different ways, but the user couldn't have the same clue.
I can mount the cd and tell apt-cdrom where it is;
I can adjust the fstab to say where is the correct mounting point for a device;
And also I can do what mvo said, but it will not fix the bug.

I'm wondering if I'm the only one who experienced the problem.

[Bug 115536] apt-cdrom add fails to mount the medium

2007-05-18 Thread Rafael Proença
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: apt

While running 'apt-cdrom add' in my notebook its always fails saying:
E: Failed to mount the cdrom.

APT looks into /etc/fstab to get the default cdrom mount point. My fstab looks
like:
/dev/cdrom/cdrom   udf,iso9660 user,noauto 0   0

APT tries to mount '/cdrom/' instead of just '/cdrom' (withou slash). If
I change fstab and remove the slash from the mount point everything
works well.

Suggestion:
a) APT needs to use the hal mounting point instead the /etc/fstab, so it would
works with no mention in fstab
b) The default fstab mounting point should be '/cdrom/' instead of just '/cdrom'
c) The default mounting point where apt looks into should be '/cdrom'

[Bug 114221] Re: [Sync Request] Sync aptoncd 0.1-1 from Debian unstable

2007-05-15 Thread Rafael Proença
The difference in MD5 and size is because the Debian package is version 0.1-1,
while the Ubuntu one is 0.1-0ubuntu1. The Debian package has a major version
than the Ubuntu one (see the changelog).
Is there anything I can do? I'm the maintainer of the aptoncd Debian and Ubuntu
package, I can repack it for gutsy, or whatever you tell me to do.
Thanks.

2007-04-06 Thread Rafael Proença
Yeah, I can see the problem. If the user doesn't select any package APTonCD
gets lost while copying the packages and trows up a ugly traceback. I'll work
on it today.
Thanks for your report.

Sim, eu vejo qual o problema. Se o usuário não selecionar nenhum pacote o
APTonCD se perde ao copiar os pacotes e acaba cuspindo este erro. Vou trabalhar
nisto hoje.
Obrigado pelo seu relato de bug.

[Bug 95378] Re: Package names with underscores get mangled

2007-03-24 Thread Rafael Proença
Hi,

Thank you for the report.
But this is not a bug, as you can confirm by seeing your own cache with:
$ ls /var/cache/apt/archives

And look at the filenames, some filenames is showed with some 'different'
characters, as you described before.
In my cache resulted something like that:
...
xchat-gnome-common_1%3a0.16-0ubuntu3_all.deb
xorg_1%3a7.2-0ubuntu7_i386.deb
xorg_1%3a7.2-0ubuntu8_i386.deb
xserver-xorg_1%3a7.2-0ubuntu7_all.deb
xserver-xorg_1%3a7.2-0ubuntu8_all.deb
xserver-xorg-core_2%3a1.2.0-3ubuntu4_i386.deb
xserver-xorg-input-all_1%3a7.2-0ubuntu7_i386.deb
xserver-xorg-input-all_1%3a7.2-0ubuntu8_i386.deb
xserver-xorg-input-synaptics_0.14.6-0ubuntu4_i386.deb
xserver-xorg-video-all_1%3a7.2-0ubuntu7_i386.deb
xserver-xorg-video-all_1%3a7.2-0ubuntu8_i386.deb
xserver-xorg-video-v4l_1%3a0.1.1-0ubuntu2_i386.deb
xserver-xorg-video-voodoo_1%3a1.1.0-oubuntu2_i386.deb
xutils_1%3a7.2-0ubuntu7_all.deb
xutils_1%3a7.2-0ubuntu8_all.deb
...

So the file name doesn't changed, only the way of bash (or other ways) shows it
to you is 'wrong', but the filename is the same.
Thank you.

[Bug 89320] Re: New image overwrites the previously saved in the same folder

2007-03-02 Thread Rafael Proença
APTonCD actualy creates the aptoncd/ directory inside any destination folder
selected by user.(i.e.: if the user selects the destination as ~/ the
application will create an aptoncd folder inside it ~/aptoncd/).
If APTonCD create, so APTonCD also can remove it. But often it can be confuse
and annoying.
Wait for the fix.

2006-06-15 Thread Rafael Proença
It's happens when using Flock Web browser too :(
What happen is the X (or gdm) is killed as process, and goes to the first
console terminal (tty1).
Possibles relateds:
* Gnome 2.14
* Ubuntu 6.06
* Nvidia GLX package
* X.org 7 package
* Launchpad
* or the combination of then all (or some of them).

When it happen, you need restart the computer, and after login, may take
some time to starts GNOME correctly.
