[Bug 554569] Re: [lucid] Blank screen with KMS on Thinkpad X201 with Arrandale (i915)

2010-05-04 Thread rampage
I have a Toshiba Satellite A505-S6020, 9.10 installs ok basic graphic,
NVIDIA drivers install fine. I straight 10.4 install gets me the black
screen (no back light either) before the grub menu comes up. I have the
i5 with 310M graphics, will help with anything i can, I would love to
run 10.4 and get the other issues fixed also.

[Bug 256572] Re: linuxdcpp crashed with SIGSEGV

2009-02-15 Thread Rampage
I'm not sharing any files from the cdrom drive. It only dies on
inserting a blank disc, rather than a disc with data on it.

I was not hashing, uploading or downloading when I tried it yesterday.
No hubs were connected either.

Are you able to reproduce the crash on your system?

[Bug 277327] [NEW] Installing wine makes samba shares unaccessible

2008-10-02 Thread Rampage
Public bug reported:

I've tried this twice and got the same result.

Samba shares on the ubuntu desktop are set up and others can access them
fine. -- Installing wine makes the shares unaccessible and deleting wine
returns things to normal.

Not sure what this could be, or how to check deeper.

Many thanks

[Bug 229688] Re: Segmentation Fault on inserting a blank disk

2008-08-07 Thread Rampage
I've enabled apport in the file /etc/default/apport and followed the
steps that crashes the application everytime. But it doesn't seem to
pick up anything.

When i change the user in the terminal using su I get segmentation
fault as the last line. If I use gksudo then then it just dies. Please
let me know if I'm doing something wrong

Re: [Bug 229688] Re: Segmentation Fault on inserting a blank disk

2008-08-05 Thread Rampage
Hi Chris,

Sorry for the late reply. Just wondering do I just need to enable apport
and then replicate the crash (so it picks up the crash on its own and
reports it?)? Or do I need to change some other config?

Thanks
Jilan

Chris Coulson wrote:
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. However, your crash report has no debug symbols and is
challenging to deal with. Please follow these instructions to have
apport report a new bug about your crash that can be dealt with by the
 automatic retracer.

If you are running the Ubuntu Stable Release you might need to enable
 apport in /etc/default/apport and restart.

If you are using Ubuntu with the Gnome desktop environment - launch nautilus
and navigate to your /var/crash directory and double click on the crash
 report you wish to submit.
If you are using Kubuntu or Xubuntu you can file the crash using
 /usr/share/apport/apport-qt --crash-file=/var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash in
a terminal - where _my_crash_report.crash is the crash you would like to
 report.

I'm closing this bug report since the process outlined above will
automatically open a new bug report which can then dealt with more
efficiently. Thanks in advance for your cooperation and understanding.
