[Bug 1042111] Re: gs can't render some fonts. Example was created with 10.04

2012-08-28 Thread ReimarBauer
Hmm, ok, it sounded too similiar.

Another workaround was to user ps2ps with the example file
ps2ps example.ps fix.ps
evince fix.ps

It can be shown with evince but also I get many lines of
GPL Ghostscript 9.05: Error: Font Renderer Plugin ( FreeType ) return code = -1

with gs fix.ps works without error message

[Bug 995967] [NEW] old kernels not removed on upgrade

after upgrading from 10.04 to 12.04 I have lots of old kernels in my

[Bug 988979] [NEW] upgrade from CD removes NFS entries from fstab, auto.direct and ldap

2012-04-26 Thread ReimarBauer
Public bug reported:

An upgrade of 12.04 from CD desktop edition removes all nfs mount options from
/etc/fstab
/etc/auto.direct is also removed

Also my setup for ldap is gone.
I had to create a local user during the upgrade process.

At least there should be a hint that this happens.

[Bug 387675] Re: shutdown fails

2010-09-06 Thread ReimarBauer
ok, i have some 9.04 systems where it still happens and some which do continue
to reboot after some minutes.
I have not checked 10.04 yet.

How can I help to track this bug down? I have no idea how I can use the
common reporting tools for this case.

cheers
Reimar

[Bug 446218] Re: killing the screensaver gives access

2010-05-16 Thread ReimarBauer
i have not the problem with myself killing the process. Sometimes it
seems not to work to login again, The password check hangs. Since I know
that I can safely stop this program and get my session back I often use
it.

But this leeds in a false sensitive for security. I would prefer I
become logged out if that program is stopped.

In the case of the TTY user, this one can usually not access all mails
or the just encrypted file. While one who could stop the screensaver has
immeadiatly access to this data.

The best working screensaver is to log out and to shutdown ;)

cheers

[Bug 580730] [NEW] xserver no response 100%

2010-05-14 Thread ReimarBauer
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xserver-xorg

if I many times restart firefox (more than 1000 times) at some time the screen
freezes. The keyboard does not response to numlock key pressed. This does not
happen if I run the same program by ssh -X from an other machine on this box.
Thats why I assume there is still a problem with the xserver.

[Bug 464524] Re: acroread for AMD64 crashes when opening digitally signed document

2009-11-30 Thread ReimarBauer
Thanks for this report. Now I know how I can get it working on several of our
boxes.
I have recognized that they can't open complex forms.

I must note that I have a small amount of boxes too which also works
with that file in place.
