[Bug 642886] Re: shutdown icon and part of username cut-off on menubar
I also have this bug, which also only appears occasionally. The shutdown icon is gone, my name is there but it appears one and a half times. The mail icon is also gone. I have attached a screenshot. My default system language is Chinese, and the date is given in the Chinese format. I am running parcellite. ** Attachment added: "panel-error.xcf" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-panel/+bug/642886/+attachment/1620740/+files/panel-error.xcf -- shutdown icon and part of username cut-off on menubar https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/642886 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 327074] Re: gnome-panel disappears in when firefox started
I originally filed this bug as belonging to gnome-panel. Sebastian Bacher changed the bug from gnome-panel to compiz. I find that when I turn off all desktop effects (which were set as "normal"), the bug no longer occurs. Thanks Sebastian! (I would still like to see the bug resolved eventually, however, because the desktop effects were nice). -- gnome-panel disappears in when firefox started https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/327074 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

After closing firefox, xsession-errors registered a change I have attached the new file. ** Attachment added: ".xsession-errors" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/22369722/.xsession-errors -- gnome-panel disappears in when firefox started https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/327074 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 327074] [NEW] gnome-panel disappears in when firefox started
Public bug reported: When I launch firefox for the first time after logging into a gnome session, the firefox window takes up the whole screen, and the gnome- panel is covered. I can get the gnome panel back by pressing F11 twice-- the first time to make firefox "full screen" (and the firefox menu disappears) and the second time to return it to non-full screen, which returns it to the way it should be, showing the gnome-panel. This happens periodically when firefox is running. I can make the problem go away by pressing F11 twice. The problem is not debilitating, but very annoying, and it sometimes interferes with my work. I am using ubuntu 8.10 64 bit with the default language as Chinese (zh_CN). The problem used to happen quite frequently, and then stopped for a long time, and now it has started again. I am not sure if the return of the problem has to do with an updated package, or perhaps a kernel package. I am attaching ~/.xsession-errors. I don't believe that there is a change in the xsession.errors file after I log in, even after the problem happens in firefox. Please let me know if more information (including a screenshot) would be helpful. ** Affects: gnome-panel (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- gnome-panel disappears in when firefox started https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/327074 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 298942] [NEW] [needs-packaging] fwbackups
Public bug reported: fwbackups is an excellent gui file backup application that is more feature-filled than and I believe comparable to or superior to any such gui package in the ubuntu repositories. It supports scheduled and remote backups as well as differential backups with rsync. (Remote ssh backups seem error-prone with the current gui backup solutions in the ubuntu repos such as sbackup and pybackpack). fwbackups is under active development by an open source company called Diffingo Solutions, Inc. The fwbackups package has been in the fedora repos since fedora core 5, and it appears to be well regarded on fedoraforum.org.
