[Bug 808402] [NEW] No TV output in X

2011-07-10 Thread Sceptic
Public bug reported:

output is detected and shows up in xrandr and the Xorg.0.log file as
expected.

[Bug 544952] Re: Cannot read from DVD drive

2010-04-29 Thread Sceptic
It seems to have been a transient hardware issue; while rebooting to the
karmic kernel fixed the read errors for a little while, the drive
stopped working again soon after (to the point where it was claiming to
be a "DWDRAM"). A complete shutdown fixed the problem, and I haven't had
any significant problems with it since, and am again running the latest
lucid kernel.

[Bug 544952] [NEW] Cannot read from DVD drive

2010-03-23 Thread Sceptic
Public bug reported:

In 2.6.32-16-generic, I got a lot of IO errors when trying to read a dvd
(it seemed to mount fine). When the same dvd was read in

[Bug 463316] Re: IWLAGN 4965abg MAC is in deep sleep

2009-11-23 Thread Sceptic
Is this related to 7d930bc33653d5592dc386a76a38f39c2e962344? Apparently
there were reports of problems after deauthenticating that were fixed by
reverting that commit.

Whether it's related to that commit or not, I'm seeing a very similar problem
with 2.6.31-15-generic. It seems to start after the following in dmesg:
[18363.512539] No probe response from AP 00:17:31:ae:21:6f after 500ms,
disconnecting.
[18364.152558] iwlagn :07:00.0: Error sending REPLY_RXON: time out after

[18364.653817] iwlagn :07:00.0: Error sending REPLY_SCAN_CMD: time out
after 500ms.

After a number of similar messages, it eventually starts spitting out

[Bug 361786] [NEW] bluefish package should depend on libgnomecanvas2-0 >= 2.26.0-0ubuntu1 or on libgail18

2009-04-15 Thread Sceptic
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: bluefish

Description:Ubuntu 9.04
Release:9.04

bluefish:

libgnomecanvas-2.0 is presently installed at version 2.20.1.1-1ubuntu2, which
doesn't depend on libgail18. Upgrading to 2.26.0-0ubuntu1 pulls in libgail18,
which fixes bluefish.

Yes, that's very much the same bug.

And upstream seems to have an actual fix, rather than just another
workaround.

Cloned the git repositories and built them using the script from the

I can't be sure it's the same bug, of course. The symptoms I see are
that I get flickers every ten or so seconds until I set up a dummy
output using xrandr. This is on intel 965GM, btw.
