[Bug 1450889] Re: No video, only audio when I trying to play .mkv or another video file under Ubuntu 15.04
I am having the same problem with Xubuntu 15.10 using the proprietary Nvidia drivers. VLC only shows black screen for many (but not all) videos. [Bug 1056685] [NEW] ACPI event not fired for keyboard backlight hotkey (Asus G55VW)
Public bug reported: Release: 12.04 Distribution: XUbuntu System: Asus G55VW Hitting hotkeys for the keyboard backlight brightness has no effect. Hitting hotkeys for the keyboard backlight brightness generates a X key event (XF86KbdBrightnessUp, XF86KbdBrightnessDown) as seen by xev but no ACPI event is seen by acpi_listen. Invoking /etc/acpi/asus-keyboard-backlight.sh directly as root changes the keyboard backlight correctly. ** Affects: gnome-settings-daemon (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1056685 Title: ACPI event not fired for keyboard backlight hotkey (Asus G55VW) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-settings-daemon/+bug/1056685/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 607041] Re: Periodically just about everything slows down to a crawl
I loaded Okular 7 times with large documents (text books or text book chapters of at least 100 pages). I then started top and watched it as I did several things in various programs. Every time I did anything like a desktop switch, Xorg went to 100% CPU. The thing that really stood out was typing a new email from within Kontact. The type rate was so slow that it would only print out a character every second or so. Every time I typed several characters in a row the CPU usage for Xorg would go to 100% and stay there until all characters were eventually shown on screen. If I then did nothing the CPU usage of Xorg would slowly go back down to a low number. Once all the Okular instances were closed the problem did not occur again. ** Attachment added: "logs.zip" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/607041/+attachment/1774862/+files/logs.zip -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/607041 Title: Periodically just about everything slows down to a crawl -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 607041] Re: Periodically just about everything slows down to a crawl

[Bug 607041] [NEW] Periodically just about everything slows down to a crawl
Public bug reported: Sorry, I don't know what package to file this under. The version of Kubuntu is 10.04 I know of a slow down issue related to Nepomuk but this doesn't appear to be related. Periodically switching between desktops becomes very slow. The type rate becomes something like 1 character every 2 seconds. Kmail is very slow. The strange thing is that when switching to a non-KDE application like Firefox the initial screen draw is very slow but once Firefox has focus, what happens inside the app is normal speed. The system is a quad core cpu with 8G ram. Top doesn't show anything sucking the life out of the system, free shows almost 3G free and no swap being used. I can always invoke the problem by opening PDF files using Okular. The more instances of Okular I open the slower it becomes. Okular doesn't need to be open for the problem to occur though. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Periodically just about everything slows down to a crawl https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/607041 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 340808] [NEW] printing problem - fails to print second time
Public bug reported: Kubuntu Version: 8.10. Printer: HP OfficeJet Pro K5300 via network, CUPS, physically connected to Ubuntu server 8.04. Problem: The first print job prints fine. The second print job does not print at all. Kubuntu's "Document Print Status" shows it as processing indefinitely. If the second print job is cancelled using the Document Print screen, the third print job prints okay but the fourth hangs, it can be cancelled to enable printing the fifth job and the pattern repeats. A machine with an older Kubuntu install does not have the problem. One curious symptom is that the Document Print Status screen shows the printer as being "null" for both successful and non-successful print jobs. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- printing problem - fails to print second time https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/340808 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 52815] Re: logitech usb headset sound output dies after 1 minute
I have the same problem with the same headset. The sound plays for a short while then I hear a click, the sound goes and anything that trys to access the headset freezes. I am using Kubuntu 6.06 with an ASUS K6000KM (A6QKM) laptop. I run Amarok using the Xine engine utilising ALSA and point it to plughw:1,0 ( have tried hw:1 also ). I then point Amarok to a wma based music file and it freezes 30 to 60 seconds later. I don't know if it is related but if I try and boot the laptop with either a logitech usb headset or logitech usb mouse the kernel freezes well before the init scripts run. -- logitech usb headset sound output dies after 1 minute https://launchpad.net/bugs/52815 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
