[Bug 150888] Re: nm-applet not refresh networks

2008-01-25 Thread Sebastien Wains
Tonight I had to make some tests with a new access point and had to
switch from my personal AP to the test AP a number of times.

I figured NM was no longer refreshing the wireless network list at all.
In earlier version of Ubuntu, it used to refresh the list after a small delay
as far as I remember.

[Bug 148712] Re: Gusty: Not seeing bluetooth services even after pairing

2007-10-19 Thread Sebastien Wains
My input won't really be useful but I have the same problem here with a
Sony Ericsson K750i

It would connect after the cell has been turned on but the connection
drops when you browse through the directories.

I managed to keep the connection going for 15 minutes when I was testing
some themes. I was not browsing the cell phone but I was keeping the
same directory opened.

Installing gnome-vfs-obexftp fixes another bug but definitely not this
one.

To me, this is not a duplicate of bug #45345

I have the problem under Ubuntu 7.10 with an Intel ICH7 sound

I see a "master" entry in amixer, so the issue is not about the "front"

I have tried building the alsa drivers from source (1.0.15-rc3) but it didn't
help.

when it started though but it definitely started under Ubuntu 7.10

[Bug 133627] Pidgin won't reconnect the accounts if pidgin closed improperly

2007-08-20 Thread Sebastien Wains
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: pidgin

Gutsy
pidgin 1:2.1.0-1ubuntu2

I noticed that when I do something like Ctrl+Alt+BackSpace to restart the Gnome
environment with Pidgin running, when I log back in, Pidgin won't reconnect the
accounts (for me AIM and Gtalk).

It is saying "Connecting..." (or something like that, I'm using the
french translation) but it won't connect.

Fix :
Go in accounts > AIM > Disable
Then re-enable

Same for Gtalk.

I'm then reconnected instantly.

[Bug 41738] Re: confusing error message when connection via ssh fails, because host key verification failed

2007-05-17 Thread Sebastien Wains
You also come across that error message when you have several SSH
servers on different ports behind one IP.

The only way I found to temporarily handle that problem is to empty
/home/user/.ssh/known_hosts and chmod 000 it.

This way, you always get prompted by nautilus as if it was the first
time you were connecting.

Not the safest workaround.. subject to man in the middle attacks if
you're accepting SSHv1 and allow password authentication.

Agree on the scroll bars too.

I'm using vncviewer through rdesktop.
There's also another tedious bug but I guess this is a rdesktop problem.

Whenever you close your VNC session in rdesktop, a message box pops up saying
"An error has occured, Will reconnect in 30 seconds".
And it would prompt for the password 30 seconds if you forget to click "Cancel".

[Bug 47755] Re: Low volume & distorted sound on HPdv8235ea laptop

2006-12-11 Thread Sebastien Wains
I'm so confused and so glad at the same time, I'm sorry for the useless
posts but...

The ALSA project released updated drivers today (still RC though) !

http://www.alsa-project.org/changes/v1-0-13--v1-0-14rc1.txt

I upgraded to 1.0.14rc1 manually and it finally fixes my issue for good

Thanks guys !

2006-12-04 Thread Sebastien Wains
I decided to try the latest alsa-drivers available on the official
homepage (1.0.13) released in september and it fixed my issue.

My chipset is now recognized as a Conexant chip
