[Bug 535424] Re: No stable wireless connections

2010-05-03 Thread Serge K
I have similar problem.

I have ACER Aspire 3680-2682 laptop with Atheros 5007EG Wi-Fi adapter.

After short time of work it disconnects from W-Fi network.

What is worst, it does not connect back automatically.

In 9.04 and 9.10 after disconnect, it starts connecting automatically.

In alpha and beta versions on 10.04 there was no such problem with
disconnections.

But after installing 10.04 release I have notised that after
disconnection the Network Manager does not start connecting again.

I am not sure, whether the problem is with Atheros drivers in kernel or
it is the Network Manager issue.

But it really affects me.

I am thinking on switching back to 9.10

[Bug 403875] Re: [karmic] Keyboard layout selected in installation doesn't stick

2009-10-06 Thread Serge K
I have installed Ubuntu Karmic beta from Live (desktop) CD. I have
chosen "Russia" as the country and "Russian" as keyboard layout.

Installation process was completed successfully.

After reboot I was not able to switch to russian keyboard layout. I have
added Gnome keyboard applet and I have noticed that there is only one
keyboard layout - "USA".

When I have added "Russian" manually, the switching from "USA" to "Rus"
works well.

So installation process lacks step of adding selected layout.

[Bug 369628] [NEW] Hibernate (suspend to disk) not working on ThinkPad x300

2009-04-29 Thread serge k
Public bug reported:

The computer seemingly goes into hibernation, ie. both the HDD and the
'sleep' light blink on the machine, and the power is shut off. However,
on turning the machine back on, it simply goes into a normal boot
sequence, effectively starting the system from scratch. No errors or any
'acknowledgement' of hibernation is ever visible.

kern.log.0 doesn't seem to log the hibernation attempt, either.

Thanks,

Serge
