[Bug 1962453] Re: Apply default TTL to records obtained from getaddrinfo()

2022-05-31 Thread Shyam Prasad
Verified in both focal and impish that the bug is fixed with the keyutils
package in the proposed repo.
Also ran some sanity tests to make sure that other functionalities are not
affected.
You can mark this as verified.

[Bug 1975554] [NEW] Apply default TTL to records obtained from getaddrinfo(): Focal and beyond

2022-05-23 Thread Shyam Prasad
Public bug reported:

The issue was fixed for bionic in:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/keyutils/+bug/1962453
However, was missed for Focal, Impish and Jammy.

Since I'm not getting responses for that bug, I'm opening this one.

2019-11-17 Thread Shyam Jos
So I tested Debian 10.2 (kernel v 4.19.67) today and noticed that
Bluetooth worked perfectly fine, The only difference was in Debian the
driver loaded was r8822be, so the issue is with the driver rtw_pci
loaded in ubuntu 19.10 ??

** Package changed: linux (Ubuntu) => linux

** Description changed:

- My Bluetooth speaker is disconnecting few minutes after playing youtube
- videos on google chrome [no issues when playing videos in mpv], also I
- have noticed that ubuntu detecting my speaker as Bluetooth keyboard
- instead of speaker !!
+ My Bluetooth speaker is disconnecting a few minutes after playing

[Bug 906159] [NEW] GPF in ksmd cmp_and_merge_page flow

2011-12-18 Thread Shyam
Public bug reported:

We hit upon this GPF in oneiric 3.0.0-14-server kernel. Just before the
upgrade to oneiric we were running natty (2.6.38-8-server) & we never
hit this one.

Subject: [Bug 905219] Re: Linux Kernel crash in Netfilter both in Natty
(2.6.38-8-server) and oneiric(3.0.0-13-server) kernels

Hi Shyam,

Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? It
will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue. Refer to
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . If possible, please test
the latest v3.2-rcN kernel (Not a kernel in the daily directory). Once
you've tested the upstream kernel, please remove the 'needs-upstream-
testing' tag(Only that one tag, please leave the other tags). This can
be done by clicking on the yellow pencil icon next to the tag located at
the bottom of the bug description and deleting the 'needs-upstream-
testing' text.

If this bug is fixed by the mainline kernel, please add the following
tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream-KERNEL-VERSION'. For example, if kernel
version 3.2-rc1 fixed and issue, the tag would be: 'kernel-fixed-
upstream-v3.2-rc1'.

If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the tag:
'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'.

If you are unable to test the mainline kernel, for example it will not
boot, please add the tag: 'kernel-unable-to-test-upstream'.

Thanks in advance.

Title:
Linux Kernel crash in Netfilter both in Natty (2.6.38-8-server) and
  oneiric(3.0.0-13-server) kernels

Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
On multiple servers on which we have Ubuntu versions installed we
periodically hit this kernel panic. in netfilter flowpath The console
freezes & the only way is to physically reboot the servers.

We run KVM and few VM's on the physical servers. On the physical eth's
bridges are created and TAP interfaces are setup into the bridges.
These TAP interfaces are connected into KVM through libvirt (we
primarily use openstack for the VM management).

This problem happened in Natty 2.6.38-8-server version. After looking
at the below links, we thought this could be a problem on
2.6.38-8-server kernel that is bundled along with Natty & decided to
move to oneiric running 3.0 kernel.

  http://lkml.indiana.edu/hypermail/linux/kernel/1106.0/00755.html
  https://lkml.org/lkml/2011/6/1/754
  http://www.spinics.net/lists/netfilter-devel/msg17239.html
  https://lkml.org/lkml/2011/2/3/147

However, this exact problem is repeating in oneiric kernels. We request
you to pls look at this issue asap. I will be happy to provide you any
additional information that you will need.

  Thanks

2011-12-16 Thread Shyam
Public bug reported:

After moving to oneiric (3.0 linux kernel) in good number of systems we
are periodically seeing rcu_sched_state detected stall on CPU. In one of
the case it was preceeded with this KVM BUG(). Not sure if this has
correlation with the stall, but the stalls started happening after this

[Bug 905219] Re: Linux Kernel crash in Netfilter both in Natty (2.6.38-8-server) and oneiric(3.0.0-13-server) kernels

2011-12-16 Thread Shyam
Pls note that the stack trace is slightly different between the
reference links of 2.6.38-8 netfilter corruption & the ones we are
hitting.

We are constantly hitting the ones as shown in the attachments (png
files).

[Bug 905219] [NEW] Linux Kernel crash in Netfilter both in Natty (2.6.38-8-server) and oneiric(3.0.0-13-server) kernels

2011-12-16 Thread Shyam
Public bug reported:

On multiple servers on which we have Ubuntu versions installed we
periodically hit this kernel panic. in netfilter flowpath The console
freezes & the only way is to physically reboot the servers.

We run KVM and few VM's on the physical servers. On the physical eth's
bridges are created and TAP interfaces are setup into the bridges. These
TAP interfaces are connected into KVM through libvirt (we primarily use
openstack for the VM management).

This problem happened in Natty 2.6.38-8-server version. After looking at
the below links, we thought this could be a problem on 2.6.38-8-server
kernel that is bundled along with Natty & decided to move to oneiric
running 3.0 kernel.

http://lkml.indiana.edu/hypermail/linux/kernel/1106.0/00755.html
https://lkml.org/lkml/2011/6/1/754
http://www.spinics.net/lists/netfilter-devel/msg17239.html
https://lkml.org/lkml/2011/2/3/147

However, this exact problem is repeating in oneiric kernels. We request you to
pls look at this issue asap. I will be happy to provide you any additional
information that you will need.

Thanks

[Bug 856481] Re: gnome-shell is not installable after last upgrade

2011-09-23 Thread Shyam
Hi Cedric,

Best thing is to wait for the fix
(https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/cogl/+bug/856179) to be
rolled. It might happen sometime today or tomorrow.

Work around could be using Rico's PPA
(https://launchpad.net/~ricotz/+archive/testing) but its altogether a
different ball game. It comes with its own issues because this PPA using
even more up front gnome-shell releases and dependencies.

It definitely is beatbox, Conor. Thanks for getting back. If beatbox
isnt following spec, I guess there is no point to find workarounds for
such things.

Will leave it your discretion regarding this bug.

So I presume the problem here is beatbox player. I'm just about to test
this, it would seem however that the metadata hash returned by the said
player is not following the format outlined in the mpris spec.

Anything happening with this one? I haven't had luck with using GNOME

doesnot load at all. Happening since gnome-shell package last update. I
am just an end user. So if devs need any input from me, please point me
in right direction. I will try to help. Thank you. Am using GNOME

2011-02-26 Thread shyam aucharagram
Thank you for your reply, I have managed to up grade by following the
instructions below and the upgrade was successful. I am now reporting
another bug, when i come in to the log in and password screen i cannot
load ubuntu default settings, fail safe or it used to be gnome. when I
do I receive a blank screen with a white panel below, the mouse works on
the screen but nothing else is shown such as widgets or menu's, no
keyboard keys are responsive it is almost like a crash. please help me
with this problem as the only screen that loads is the KDE desktop I
prefer the Ubuntu default.

Kind regards

Shyam
