Re: [Bug 1972037] Re: Stack Overflow - gnome-control-center

2022-05-11 Thread Stan Tomlinson
Sebastian,

Just turned off Xinerama (for a few minutes).
For some reason, the system is unable to use both screens without Xinerama.
Played with this a lot when I upgraded to 20.04 from 16.04 (worked nicely
before upgrade).
FWIW, cursor is a big X on second screen, but no background and no moving
windows onto it.

Re: [Bug 1972037] Re: Stack Overflow - gnome-control-center

2022-05-09 Thread Stan Tomlinson
two HDMI screens side-by-side
2 old nvidia cards (both GeForce 8400GS)
nvidia driver 340.108 (latest version, required by cards)
Xinerama enabled
software kept fully up-to-date with stable release

Side comment -- gnome seems to crash a lot.
This is first situation where I can use gdb to get stack information.

[Bug 1964373] [NEW] Dell latitude e65640 touchpad and display problem.

2022-03-09 Thread bart stan
Public bug reported:

After upgrade from Ubuntu 18 to 20, touch-pad and display stop working
correctly. touchepad works only from time to time, but I can't find
pattern why. On the other hand display just after upgrade worked
correctly, but lately I have to work in recovery mode because on normal
drivers refreshing is terrible and from time to time display turn black
and it is impossible to switch it to normal mode.

I did not find any workaround either. So far I can work with 5.4.0-91.
Anyway I hope that this bug will be fixed, but I can see that it is
still "Unassigned" with "Undecided" importance, which doesn't lift my
hopes.

Thank you for the information. I hope that this bug will be fixed soon,
because I need the camera for online work and I can't use Windows :/

Have you found any workarounds other than using older kernel? Maybe some
USB settings in BIOS or the OS?

Yes.

It's worth checking Ubuntu 20.04. 20.04.3 seems to have upgraded to
kernel 5.11, but I'm not sure if this is just because it's the HWE

[Bug 1953199] [NEW] 0-byte files created in overlay filesystem

2021-12-03 Thread Stan Hu
Public bug reported:

Copied from
https://lore.kernel.org/stable/CAMBWrQ=1mkxnmt_6jnqp_xxr7psvywpbjc6p1qcy9eny8rf...@mail.gmail.com/:

A number of users have reported that under certain conditions using
the overlay filesystem, copy_file_range() can unexpectedly create a
0-byte file. [0]

This bug can cause significant problems because applications that copy
files expect the target file to match the source immediately after the
copy. After upgrading from Linux 5.4 to Linux 5.10, our Docker-based
CI tests started failing due to this bug, since Ruby's IO.copy_stream
uses this system call. We have worked around the problem by touching
the target file before using it, but this shouldn't be necessary.
Other projects, such as Rust, have added similar workarounds. [1]

As discussed in the linux-fsdevel mailing list [2], the bug appears to
be present in Linux 5.6 to 5.10, but not in Linux 5.11. We should be
able to cherry-pick the following upstream patches to fix this. Could
you cherry-pick them to 5.10.x stable? I've confirmed that these
patches, applied from top to bottom to that branch, pass the
reproduction test [3]:

82a763e61e2b601309d696d4fa514c77d64ee1be
9b91b6b019fda817eb52f728eb9c79b3579760bc

The diffstat:

 fs/overlayfs/file.c | 59
+++
 1 file changed, 31 insertions(+), 28 deletions(-)

Note that these patches do not pick cleanly into 5.6.x - 5.9.x stable.

```
Per [the latest update on the kernel stable mailing
list](https://lore.kernel.org/stable/yanx6kobwiqob...@kroah.com), the
kernel backport fix for 5.10 has been queued for review and should land
in the [`stable-5.10.y`
branch](https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/stable/linux.git/log/?h=linux-5.10.y)
soon.
To avoid this bug, I'd suggest avoid Linux v5.6.0 - v5.10.83 for now,
unless you backport the two patches below:
1.
https://github.com/torvalds/linux/commit/@82a763e61e2b601309d696d4fa514c77d64ee1be
1.
https://github.com/torvalds/linux/commit/@9b91b6b019fda817eb52f728eb9c79b3579760bc
I've confirmed that 5.5.19 does NOT have this bug, and it was introduced
in 5.6.0 via
https://github.com/torvalds/linux/commit/1a980b8cbf0059a5308eea61522f232fd03002e2.
[Bug 971018] Re: Auto-hide Unity Launcher will not reveal when mouse pushed to left side in VirtualBox or VMware
2021-04-03 Thread Stan Senotrusov
There is a solution for that issue. You need to run the following to
change the settings:
gsettings set org.gnome.shell.extensions.dash-to-dock require-pressure-
to-show false
I tested it at Ubuntu 20.04.2 LTS guest on VMware workstation. I think
it may apply to Virtualbox case as well.
tried to open a folder of maybe 100  images from my camera average 7 MB
I got frustrated and started searching for a way to  make Nautilus   not
even just faster but even usable. I use it to display my desktop
(metacity w/ Gnome flashback )or I would  just make  some other ANY
other file manager be default.
[Bug 1872527] Re: Clipboard doesn't work 100% of the time in Ubuntu 20.04 (in KVM guests)
2020-05-20 Thread Stan
Actually another scenario which is even worse now that I have experienced again
today, is copy/paste is broken within libreoffice, on a VM. It gets to the
point libreoffice hangs completely, and then the VM itself. Eventually the VM
logs me right off. Logging back on, and launching libreoffice, all is well.
In this scenario, best to have done prior saves in libreoffice. Never do the
doc recovery.
I believe this broken scenario is actually triggered by having tried to do
copy/pastes from firefox on another VM to this VM. After this the instance on
libreoffice is somewhat broken, progressing to the hang.
Nasty.
[Bug 1872527] Re: Clipboard doesn't work 100% of the time in Ubuntu 20.04 (in KVM guests)
2020-05-19 Thread Stan via ubuntu-bugs
A general userland comment:
Reading the above, I experience this among Centos VMs. It is very hard
to reproduce for typical text copy/pastes involving bash terminals, text
files, and spreadsheets (libre).
However, it plagues me for copying from Firefox web pages. It is so bad
that I often open up a simple text file on the copy-from VM to see if
anything is being captured. In those cases, the paste usually does not
paste anything.
I realize that this is not a bug report, but maybe this scenario will
help create a context for further debugging, that may provide a higher
repro rate.
This bug is very worth fixing.
[Bug 1790454] Re: Bluetooth (btintel) stops working after suspend/resume
2019-10-09 Thread Stan Janssen
I am running into exactly the same problem as Bas Zoetekouw. I added the
enable_autosuspend=0 option:
stan@stan-desktop:~$ cat /etc/modprobe.d/btusb.conf
options btusb enable_autosuspend=0
But I see the following in dmesg after reboot:
[4.026743] btusb: unknown parameter 'enable_autosuspend' ignored
And the problem still occurs.
Do I need to do something else beside adding this line to
/etc/modprobe.d/btusb.conf?
[Bug 1775131] Re: Ubuntu 18.04 networking issue (connection drops after approx. 15 minutes)
2019-09-18 Thread Stan Scholtz via ubuntu-bugs
i have the same problem over here, i posted more details over here:
https://github.com/mailcow/mailcow-dockerized/issues/2918
i believe to reproduce the problem you can:
- set up multiple subnets under the same interface name
- make sure systemd-networkd is the only system to handle public interface (no
NetworkManager or netplan)
- install somesoftware which uses networkd-dispatcher (like mailcow on docker)
- wait a week to see 1 minute downtime upon hitting the concurrency described
above
OR
- my interfaces also restart (causing disconnets) upon systemd updates (via apt
upgrade), or systemd re-install (with chances of 4 to 5 of hitting disconnect)
pls understand that to hit the concurrency problem you probably need to
have lot's of IPs or subnets in your network configuration file in
/etc/systemd/network/enpXXX.network  (i got 7 ipv4 addresses there)
best regards, stan
[Bug 1572374] Re: partman should have a check script to warn if missing bios_grub partition
2019-05-21 Thread Stan A.
On a related note, if one specifically decides to _not_ create a
biosgrub partition and attempts to skip past the message asking you to
do so using "partman-partitioning/no_bootable_gpt_biosgrub" it just
locks up d-i.
Does anyone know if "partman-partitioning/no_bootable_gpt_biosgrub"
actually exists if it does anything? Searching online suggests this as
the workaround for preseed but I can't find any evidence of code
existing that actually makes this work.
[Bug 1827299] [NEW] incorrect statistics in nautilus
2019-05-01 Thread Stan Pikul
Public bug reported:
I'm using UBUNTU 18.04
I have a directory with 23 sub directories and 24000 files and 93GB used.
below is the output of df -h
When i go and high light the 23 sub directories and get a total of the sub
thru properties, it seem to loop an it goes thru each directory.
I end up getting some value like 4000 and 24 GB.
If i do the same thing on a NAS attached file system, it never stops.
[Bug 1815384] [NEW] [Latitude 7490, Realtek ALC3246, Black Headphone Out, Front] Playback problem
2019-02-10 Thread Catalin Gabriel Stan
Public bug reported:
lsb_release -rd
Description:Ubuntu 18.04.1 LTS
Release:18.04
I am not sure how to describe the problem.
If i turn off my laptop with my headphones in, when it boots up (without
removing the headphones at any times), then no sound is playing on any exits.
Not on the laptop's speaker, neither on the headphones.
I am a developer, and I think the issue it's that the hardware is trying to
play the sound on the headphones (because you restrict playing on both the
speakers and the headphones at once, without extra custom configurations),
because playing on headphones is what the hardware remembers, but ubuntu
forgets that between reboots and it's telling the hardware to play on speakers,
which the hardware won't do.
To fix the problem, i have to unplug my headphones and plug them back
in. And sometimes that is annoying because some sounds may be too loud
and i am in a meeting :) .
Maybe in ubuntu, the audio port is being initialized with speakers at
boot time, and it is not verifying the aux outputs for listeners, to
initialize with that.
Maybe this should be a new feature.
The feature would be to scan the audio ports at boot time, to see if any
auxiliary ports are found. Not sure if multiple can be found. Initialize
with whatever state would be if those auxiliary ports where plugged in
one at a time, and not found like this. The initial state should not
always be the default audio port.
Thank you for understanding, and please let me know if you what i mean.
[Bug 1740792] Re: Automatic login still requires user password after suspend/hibernate
2019-01-23 Thread Stan
I agree with Wolf. To me login and unlock are the same (login is first
unlock and unlock is any subsequent unlock), and I expect the setting to
not ask for a password to apply in both cases.
Re: [Bug 1759391] Re: Another delicate failure with Ubuntu when trying to buy something
2018-11-10 Thread Stan
Please allow me to continue to use Ubuntu/Firefox in purchase situations
and collect better data.  None of the extensions I have would be likely to
cause this by design, but there may be some accidental problem than arises
and I will attempt to isolate it for you.
Thanks again,
Re: [Bug 1773535] Re: Delicate failure with Ubuntu when using Firebox email
2018-11-10 Thread Stan
Yes, i do and did then.  I now use Adblock Ultimate, and your suspicions
may be right, that the extension is the problem.  Regretfully, I change
extensions from time to time, and I don't keep records of when and which
one. If I have a problem with Aetna again, I will disable extensions to see
what happens.  I am sorry I didn't think of it back then, but in the heat
of the moment, when I was trying to get into Aetna, I was probably
concentrating on the problem that motivated me to go the there.
Thanks for thinking about this problem.
Re: [Bug 1759391] Re: Another delicate failure with Ubuntu when trying to buy something
2018-11-10 Thread Stan
Thank you for digging into this problem.  I think it still exists, in
Firefox 63.  Yesterday I was trying to buy some auto parts from a classic
car dealer (Larry's Thunderbirds and Mustangs) and the same phenomenon
happened.  I could log it, choose the parts, fill out the information on
shipping and credit card, but then when I went to hit the final CONTINUE
button, nothing happened.  No notice, no failure dialog box, no nothing.  I
immediately went over to my MacAir, and did the identical purchase, not one
iota of difference, and the final CONTINUE button worked instantly and
completed my sale.  I have no idea why.  On this man's website, there are
many CONTINUE buttons, and they all work under Ubuntu/firefox except the
last one.  On the MacAir, I used Safari.
I am sorry I cannot provide any more detailed information, but that is why
I called it a 'delicate problem'.
Best wishes.
[Bug 1802585] [NEW] NFS v4.0: Stale data after file is renamed while another process has an open file handle
2018-11-09 Thread Stan Hu
Public bug reported:
NOTE: This bug has been fixed in the upstream mainline kernel via
https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux.git/commit/?h=be189f7e7f03de35887e5a85ddcf39b91b5d7fc1
and merged in the latest NFS client patches in
The full patchset is here: https://marc.info/?l=linux-
nfs&m=153816500525563&w=2
I'm repeating the report I sent to the NFS maintainers on the mailing
list:
On Ubuntu 16.04 (4.4.0-130) with NFS v4.0, I'm seeing an issue where
stale data is shown if a file remains open on one machine, and the
file is overwritten via a rename() on another. Here's my test:
1. On node A, create two different files on a shared NFS mount:
"test1.txt" and "test2.txt".
2. On node B, continuously show the contents of the first file: "while
true; do cat test1.txt; done"
3. On node B, run a process that keeps "test1.txt" open. For example,
with Python, run:
 f = open('/nfs-mount/test1.txt', 'r')
4. Rename test2.txt via "mv -f test2.txt test1.txt"
On node B, I see the contents of the original test1.txt indefinitely,
even after I disabled attribute caching and the lookup cache. I can
make the while loop in step 2 show the new content if I perform one of
these actions:
1. Run "ls /nfs-mount"
2. Close the open file in step 3
[Bug 1795242] Re: Digicert certificate is not included
2018-10-02 Thread Stan Janssen
I have reported this to Marktplaats.nl, suggesting they include the
certificate in the chain that is being sent out by the server.
(I wonder why DigiCert has not been able to convice Mozilla to include
this certificate, yet they still sign certificates that are intended for
public verification using this. And, to make matters worse, why most
other browsers do seem to include the certificate by default or a least
trust the certificate chain enough to load the pages.)
Thanks for your help.
[Bug 1795242] Re: Digicert certificate is not included
2018-10-02 Thread Stan Janssen
** Description changed:
- The "DigiCert High Assurance EV Root CA" certificate is missing, which
- means that the system does not trust web sites that are using SSL
- certificates signed by that root. An example is a popular website in the
- Netherlands https://marktplaats.nl. The result is that no resources
- other that the text-only homepage is loaded.
+ EDIT: This post originally mentioned the "DigiCert High Assurance EV
  Maybe there is a valid reason for not including this certificate by
  default, or maybe this certificate can be included by default, since it
  seems like it's assumed to be included on every machine.
[Bug 1795242] Re: Digicert certificate is not included
2018-10-02 Thread Stan Janssen
This is on ElementaryOS 0.4.1, which is based on Ubuntu 16.04:
sudo dpkg -s ca-certificates | grep Version:
Version: 20170717~16.04.1
And also on ElementaryOS 5 Beta 2, which is based on Ubuntu 18.04:
sudo dpkg -s ca-certificates | grep Version:
Version: 20180409
I was directed here from the ElementaryOS bug tracker.
Re: [Bug 1795242] Re: Digicert certificate is not included
2018-10-02 Thread Stan Janssen
Thanks, Seth, for looking into this. You're right; that certificate is
indeed installed by default.
I seem to have misstated the name of the certificate in my original bug
report and post. It should have been the "DigiCert SHA2 Secure Server CA"
certificate, which is the one I describe in the steps to resolve the
problem. I apologize for having you look into the wrong certificate.
Should the "DigiCert SHA2 Secure Server CA" be included in ca-
certificates?
A test site can be the static resources on https://www.marktplaats.nl,
which is the largest second-hand market in the Netherlands. They use it
for the static resources (not the main page, which is using a different
certificate). A direct test URL might be
https://s.marktplaats.com/z/dist/bower_components/gdpr-consent-banner/index.8e80894f.js,
which is not trusted on a clean install.
[Bug 1795242] [NEW] Digicert certificate is not included
2018-09-30 Thread Stan Janssen
Public bug reported:
The "DigiCert High Assurance EV Root CA" certificate is missing, which
means that the system does not trust web sites that are using SSL
certificates signed by that root. An example is a popular website in the
Netherlands https://marktplaats.nl. The result is that no resources
other that the text-only homepage is loaded.
Installing the Digicert root certificte manually from Digicert solves
the problem:
```
wget https://dl.cacerts.digicert.com/DigiCertSHA2SecureServerCA.crt
mv DigiCertSHA2SecureServerCA.crt DigiCertSHA2SecureServerCA.der
openssl x509 -inform DER -outform PEM -in DigiCertSHA2SecureServerCA.der -out
DigicertSHA2SecureServerCA.pem.crt
sudo mkdir -p /usr/share/ca-certificates/extra
sudo cp DigicertSHA2SecureServerCA.pem.crt /usr/share/ca-certificates/extra/
sudo dpkg-reconfigure ca-certificates
```
Maybe there is a valid reason for not including this certificate by
default, or maybe this certificate can be included by default, since it
seems like it's assumed to be included on every machine.
** Affects: ca-certificates (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: New
2018-09-09 Thread Stan
I'm sorry, but I didn't keep records of the other ones, except what I
thought I wrote onto my original bug report, or other ones under my name.
I"ll keep looking for new instances.
Thanks for your diligence!
2018-09-08 Thread Stan
I understand.  However, I found the bug in other locations and added that
to the bug notice in successive comments.  Maybe one of them is
sufficiently easily accessible so that the difficulties with RZD goe away.
But do you think the update to 18.04 will have solved it incidentally?
Thank you!
Re: [Bug 1759391] Re: Another delicate failure with Ubuntu when trying to buy something
2018-09-07 Thread Stan
Hi, Paul, thank you for looking at the bug.  It only appears after you have
gone all the way through the process of picking a train, wagon, seats,
registering and so on, when it is time to give your credit card number.  I
was always logged into the site when I got this far, as much as I can
remember.  I thought it was bizarre that they would have a website problem
right when they were about to get your money, and it wasn't bizarre because
the website has no problem, which I found out when I used Windows.
Something bizarre was in the Ubuntu Firefox thing that prevented the
payment section from responding to my clicks.
Best wishes on a very delicate bug.
[Bug 1788989] [NEW] rapid and excesive resource use
2018-08-25 Thread Stan Osborne
Public bug reported:
within minutes system is out of CPU cycles and Memory.  After a few
hours of no active use, but staying logged in with firefox active, disks
are churning and not able to type, nor does cursor move.  System is
locked up, must power off and reboot.
At times soon after reboot, I have found 9 firfox processes active, yet
only two firefox widows are active, each with five tabs.
Could it be that inactive tabs are still running, as if a user could see
their content?  Some news web sties are now poping up video windows that
automatically start playing.
Only the processes supporting the visible tab(s) should be active.  All
other processes should go to sleep by setting a lower process priority
so they go dormant and are swapped out.
Stop memory utilization from growing and growing and growing.  Bloatware
is bad.
[Bug 1786610] [NEW] coudy / murky screens; not able to find how to correct this online via searchiing forums
2018-08-11 Thread Stan Osborne
Public bug reported:
I have been researching and trying to fix this for months.  I started on
16-04LTS but now am trying out 18-04LTS.  No success with either version
so I am filing a bug report.  Firefox is chaing rrapidly.  At some point
people started observing this problme.Some people have been able to
fix this problem on their own, I have not.
ProblemType: Bug
DistroRelease: Ubuntu 18.04
Package: firefox 61.0.1+build1-0ubuntu0.18.04.1
ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 4.15.0-29.31-generic 4.15.18
Uname: Linux 4.15.0-29-generic x86_64
AdditionalInfo:
 I am certain this problem is a bug and not a new feature.
  This problem has existed since at least 16-04LTS.  Since many others were
reporting same I did not until now.  I had hoped it was fixed in this new
release.
  Have researched forums and found this to be a reoccuring problem, but not
able to find FIX/workaround for my version of Firerfox.  It seems Firefox
configuration methods change faster than than the online how to I am finding.
Yes I have lookied in the Ubutun formus too.
[Bug 1773535] Re: Delicate failure with Ubuntu when using Firebox email
2018-07-16 Thread Stan
I found another instance of the Firefox bug, this time with MemoryBank.
After logging in, I asked to see my latest statement, and it came back
with a message saying that the website had improper certificate and
Firefox would not proceed no matter what.  I retried multiple times and
it did nothing different.  I tried on my Macbook and the statement came
up instantly.
Both Ubuntu and Firefox have been updated with every notification.
However, the automatic software updater from Ubuntu always ends with a
negative notice about a problem.  I have a hunch but no data that it
does complete and the bug is in the notification.
I have run apport and had it sent to you.
Thanks for your hard work!  Ubuntu is a great tool and it depends on you
guys.
** Description changed:
- I received an email from my healthcare provider, Aetna, requesting that
- Firefox window, but that stays white and never progresses to anything at
- with my login information and claims information, exactly as Aetna
- intended it to do.  I have tried the link with Ubuntu multiple times
- with identical results.  I have rebooted and there was no change.  I am
- up-to-date on updates.
[Bug 1757008] Re: bcmwl-kernel-source: bcmwl kernel module failed to build [error: implicit declaration of function ‘init_timer’]
2018-07-03 Thread Stan Varlamov
@Sami: the compilation is done automatically by the installer. You can
either plug in Ethernet or reboot and chose Advanced Ubuntu boot option,
scroll down to the previous ver. of the Kernel (4.13) and boot with it
normally to get the WiFi connection back. Then "See
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation on how
to enable and use -proposed" - just a couple of steps that don't affect
your overall system if you "Create the file /etc/apt/preferences.d
/proposed-updates with this content:...". Then sudo apt-get update and
sudo apt-get install broadcom-sta-dkms/xenial-proposed. This should
successfully compile for both 4.13 and 4.15 kernels. Then reboot
normally and forget about this incident till the kernel testing flow
breaks again next year or whenever.
This is similar or identical with a bug previously reported, not from
Aetna, but from the Russian Railways System.  I recently tried again to
use the Russian Railways system, and it is still failing at exactly the
same place, where you go to try and pay for a ticket that was ordered
just before.
Confirmed here too. When I go to the Calendar application nothing is
synced while my Google account is added to my Online Accounts in
settings. When I go to Calendar -> Calendars -> Google (click to setup)
and log into my Google Account, after I click Allow to allow Gnome
Calendar to use my Google account, the window disappears and nothing
happens.
[Bug 1758178] [NEW] Firefox has a very delicate goofup on another website
2018-03-22 Thread Stan
Public bug reported:
On airbnb.com, after filling in your city and other pertinent data, when
you go to the Price tab, and slide the marker, for example, to reduce
maximum price, airbnb returns with some error message after a long wait,
"It seems we are having a problem here.  Please try again" or something
similar.  This always happens, however, on Ubuntu Firefox.  It does not
happen at all on airbnb.com when using Firefox under Windows 7 with
identical settings.
2018-03-22 Thread Stan
Public bug reported:
on www.fifa.com, after selecting the Ticketing tab, Firefox does not
display the consequent information, but leaves a large white space on
and will not permit user to select any airports.  This feature works
perfectly in Windows 7 and 8.
[Bug 1245589] Re: Doesn't run, reports a zeitgeist/dbus error
2018-03-11 Thread Stan Williams
This may be  due to something I have changed in my heavily modified
system rather than this  bug?  But it just recently started.   On this
box which is my main one I'm running  Ubuntu 14.04  using Metacity and
Gnome  flashback,  Lately  I have to use a different editor as I  can
no longer  use Gedit from the terminal.  I can  however run it from the
GUI menu, I just now tried to see. And  It seems I no longer Have  a
zeitgeist directory so I suspect that is a good clue. I will fix mine, I
just thought I should post this in case it helps someone.
"sudo gedit" returns:
** (gedit:6054): CRITICAL **: file log.c: line 980: unexpected error:
Error calling StartServiceByName for org.gnome.zeitgeist.Engine:
GDBus.Error:org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.Spawn.ExecFailed: Failed to
[Bug 1685104] Re: Netflix returns error F7363-1260 as movie loads. Loading site is good
2017-07-26 Thread Stan Logan
This problem has return for me as of July 26th 2017. Current version of
FF is 54. OS is unchanged from 32-bit Ubuntu. I went on vacation for
three weeks prior to this, and when I returned, everything was working.
I used Netflix for a couple of weeks, and today the problem returned,
exactly as before. I don't know who is screwing this up, but they really
ought to stop.
2017-06-15 Thread Stan A.
I came across this while also trying to set up a 2-drive RAID1 with a
spare. Weird that this has been opened this long.
I looked through documentation as well as partman source (learned spares
is 7th argument) and realized this is not a bug, just wrong syntax on
your part. The spare has to be put in its own separate list, so just add
a space instead of a # for your last drive/spare device(s) thereby
separating it from the devices meant for the array, e.g.:
'''
1 2 1 ext4 / /dev/sda1#/dev/sdb1 /dev/sde1
'''
>From the Partman Wiki:
Hope this helps whoever googles this next time.
[Bug 1685104] Re: Netflix returns error F7363-1260 as movie loads. Loading site is good
2017-06-07 Thread Stan Logan
I wanted to add that I am seeing this problem - however, Netflix
initially worked fine for about a month.
My current Firefox version is 53.0.3 32-bit. I do not know if this is
the version that was installed with Ubuntu Mate (16.04 LTS), or if I was
updated to 53.0.3. (and if it was an update, I don't know when it
occurred - I'm new at linux, and the logging I was able to find in
Firefox did not show any updates).
Netflix was working, I left the machine for a while and was logged out.
When I came back, I received the error. No amount of disabling
extensions, restarting, logging out/in, and cache clearing has had any
effect.
Luckily, I have another machine I can use to watch, but I hope someone
is able to fix this soon.
If anyone would like further information from me, I am happy to help,
but I will need instructions on how to get the information you want.
[Bug 1646015] Re: update-rc.d: warning: start and stop actions are no longer supported; falling back to defaults
2017-03-24 Thread Stan Schymanski
I have the same problem, trying to install docker inside a docker image of
Ubuntu 16.04 and following instructions at:
https://docs.docker.com/engine/installation/linux/ubuntu
If there is another way to achieve this task or fundamental reasons for not
even trying, please let me know.
