[Bug 1735981] Re: Huawei ME936 mobile broadband can't connect
Hi, just want to update that the problem still exists under 19.10 live system. I couldn't test whether the 77-mm-huawei-net-port-types.rules fix works, since I only have a live-USB system where I can't add the file early enough. How do we get the Modem Manager people to decide whether the above described workaround is a proper fix that should be upstreamed ? Anything how we can help ? [Bug 1811545] [NEW] Immediate resume from suspend when wifi enabled
Public bug reported: Hi, on a current and update 18.04.01 my Acer TravelMate P648-M/BAD40_SL, BIOS V1.21 07/21/2017 resumes immediately from suspend. I can successfully enter suspend if I set laptop into flight mode. This symptom only appeared the last few days, earlier the same system suspended just fine. There are no differences in /proc/acpi/wakeup with and without flight mode. => What other debugging information would be needed to figure what caused the resume with wifi enabled ? [Bug 1735981] [NEW] Huawei ME936 mobile broadband can't connect
Public bug reported: Hi, I have an Acer Travelmate P648 with a Huawei ME936 internal USB mobile broadband card, and can't connect. This didn't work in 17.04, and still does not work in 17.10. The USB device is successfully connected, ModemManager gets as far as "Simple connect state (8/8): All done" During the setup ModemManager complains with "Couldn't find associated cdc-wdm port for 'net/wwp0s20f0u9c2'" DHCP tries to get a configuration, but " dhcp4 (wwp0s20f0u9c2): request timed out". IP6 is set to "automatically" in the network settings for this configuration. and finally connection fails with "device (ttyUSB0): state change: ip-config -> failed (reason 'ip-config-unavailable', internal state 'managed')" I checked that there are enough credits left in my account with the provider. [Bug 1673250] [NEW] Internal HUAWEI Mobile Broadband Module not showing up as USB device
Public bug reported: Hi, I am running an Acer P645 with internal USB UMTS modem. The modem works using a 16.04.1 live USB stick, but not on the installed on-disk 16.04.2. Below is the lsusb -v in from the live-USB where the UMTS modem works, first the USB Hub usb2, then the Huawei device. The information from the running system where the modem does not show up is attached through apport. I also have access to dmesg on both systems, see further below for the successful case. I also tried to copy kernel and modules from the live-USB to the hadr disk, booted successfully, but still nothing in lsusb. I also tried a few times to use for i in /sys/bus/pci/drivers/[uoex]hci_hcd/*:*; do echo "${i##*/}" > "${i%/*}/unbind" echo "${i##*/}" > "${i%/*}/bind" done for resetting the bus, still the same. I would welcome some suggestions what to test, if there could be a firmware issue blocking the UMTS, if teh modem could be blacklisted (how do I check that ?) whether udev or systemd could be a problem, whether there could be a missing package in the HDD installation (which?!) or if UEFI in the boot chain ("sdhci: Secure Digital Host Controller Interface driver") could cause an issue. Or if it makes sense to manually run usb_modeswitch (how?) without the device even be in lsusb ? [Bug 987216] [NEW] After update network-manager doesn't migrate connections
Public bug reported: Hi, network-manager used to store connections in gconf back in 10.04 days. Upon upgrade to 12.04 and nm- 0.9.4.0 they live now in /etc/NetworkManager/system-connections/ But the old connection information from ~/.gconf/system/networking/connections/X/connection is not migrated. I updated from 10.04 back in march. This problem is also mentioned here: http://mail.gnome.org/archives/networkmanager-list/2011-June/msg00149.html If NM doesn't migrate connection information, this needs to be in the release doc, I guess. [Bug 970896] [NEW] Backport driver for USB Stick Terratec Synergy HTC from 3.3
Public bug reported: Hi, this bug is kinda duplicate of #951835 because the Synergy HTC has the same chipset as the 930C, so once the driver is backported, both sticks (and many more!) are supported. I opened this report because I don't have a Hauppauge 930C any more. For media PCs running e.g. MythBuntu the wide support of DVB-C sticks is important. The Terratec Synergy HTC is not supported by linux-image-3.2.0-21-generic-pae, but support is upstream and I can confirm that the stick works on linux-image-3.3.0-030300-generic from the PPA. It would be great if support could be backported to the 12.04 kernel. A start for the backport could be this commit: http://git.kernel.org/?p=linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux.git;a=blob;f=drivers/media/video/em28xx/em28xx-cards.c;=4561cd89938de422ff268b64d5a2734d27873daa;hb=HEAD Yours, Steffen ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/970896 Title: Backport driver for USB Stick Terratec Synergy HTC from 3.3 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/970896/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 596554] Re: Unable to mount root LVM partition
Hi, I can confirm this problem. I had a working natty with / living on an LVM partition, with 9 logical volumes in total. Today, I did a do-release-update to test the almost final oneiric. I am dropped into a busybox shell on earch boot, because all my LVs are not available. Then I can lvm lvchange -ay my logical volume, exit the busybox shell and continue to boot normally. I tried to update-initramfs, and update-grub, but still I get this behavior each time. lvm2 is 2.02.66-4ubuntu3, initramfs-tools are 0.99ubuntu7 This could be a serious problem, unless it is just our two systems.
