[Bug 257190] Re: Setting status to 'Hidden' changes status to 'Busy' instead

2009-08-26 Thread StrangeQuark
Why is the importance set to low? It is a very visible and irritating bug most
users are sure to encounter.
If Empathy is going to be the standard IM program in Karmic, this ought to be
fixed first. If not, expect some very annoyed users.

I've just tried it. It seems to be fixed in Jaunty too. Must have been a
bug in Intrepid's version only?

[Bug 345921] Re: Dell D600 wireless function key not working

2009-06-06 Thread StrangeQuark
Same thing here on a Dell Studio XPS 13. Except my switch is a combined
wifi/bluetooth switch, and it does toggle the bluetooth in Ubuntu. But I
have to boot into Vista to turn on the wifi.

Are there any workarounds for this? Some command line magic perhaps?

[Bug 383235] [NEW] Sticky Notes applet should use small icons when provided

2009-06-03 Thread StrangeQuark
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-applets

I have the Sticky Notes applet on my GNOME panel which is set to be 24
pixels high. The icon it uses is clearly the scalable SVG, even though
my icon theme provides better looking small icons for Sticky Notes.

Using Ubuntu Jaunty and gnome-applets 2.26.1-0ubuntu1.

[Bug 226161] Re: xfce4-places-plugin icon size doesn't follow gtkrc hints

2008-12-27 Thread StrangeQuark
I'm afraid I didn't make myself clear enough.
I'm not talking about the menu's panel icon, I'm talking about the icons of the
menu items inside the menu.

If you look at the screen shot on the left, you can see that the icons
inside the xfce4-menu-plugin (for Settings, Accessories and Development)
are 22x22 pixels. This size is taken from my ~/.gtkrc-2.0 file. The
xfce4-places-plugin (on the right in the screen shot) however ignores
the ~/.gtkrc-2.0 file and the icons for my home folder, Wastebasket,
Desktop and the File System are only 16x16 pixels.

Since the xfce4-places-plugin looks exactly like a menu, I believe it should
follow the same hints as the xfce4-menu-plugin.
I believe there are some implications for accessibility as well.

[Bug 226161] Re: xfce4-places-plugin icon size doesn't follow gtkrc hints

2008-12-26 Thread StrangeQuark
This still happens in 8.10, regardless of the GTK theme.
I've attached a screen shot of the main menu and the places plugin.
Admittedly, it's not a major issue, but it does slightly irk me. :)

[Bug 226161] [NEW] xfce4-places-plugin icon size doesn't follow gtkrc hints

2008-05-03 Thread StrangeQuark
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xfce4-places-plugin

Because the places plugin is supposed to be placed next to the standard
Xfce menu, it should follow the same hints for its icon sizes.

I have this line in my ~/.gtkrc-2.0 file:
gtk-icon-sizes = gtk-menu=22,16

This makes the icons in my Xfce menus 22x22. (The 16 after the comma is for
application menus and toolbars.)
I believe the places plugin should follow this hint as well.
