[Bug 1973564] Re: File dialog doesn't return current filter in Ubuntu 20.04
The way that I'm testing this is with the candidate release for Inkscape. Which is 1.2, you can grab as a snap with: snap install --candidate inkscape. In Inkscape if you just draw on the canvas and hit save a save dialog will appear. There is a selector at the bottom right that adjust which files you see, but also which format you want to save in. So if you make your file "test.pdf" and select "Portable Document Format (*.pdf)" in the selector you should get a PDF file. Before these patches you will get a file "test.pdf" which is actually an SVG file. After the patches you'll get a "test.pdf" that is actually a PDF. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1973564 Title: File dialog doesn't return current filter in Ubuntu 20.04 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xdg-desktop-portal/+bug/1973564/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1973564] [NEW] File dialog doesn't return current filter in Ubuntu 20.02
Public bug reported: The file dialog implementation doesn't return the current filter. It is in the spec and it is fixed in newer versions of the portals. But the 1.6.0 version doesn't return it. This is an issue for Inkscape which uses the filter to select which file format someone wishes to save as if they override the defaults. [Bug 1972072] [NEW] Linux does not see Macbook 6,2 drives
Public bug reported: As described in this ArchLinux bug report (https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/72734), the kernel installed on upgrade to 22.04 is unable to see the drives on a Macbook 6,2 model. [Bug 1922464] Re: GNOME 40: GTK3 apps crash with: Settings schema 'org.gnome.settings-daemon.plugins.xsettings' does not contain a key named 'antialiasing'
In our case we're not using either of the gnome snaps but just the distro packages. We trust @seb128 more than those crazy snap people ;-) I imagine that the fix for Inkscape is to switch to core22, which will grab the newer GTK3. [Bug 1931021] [NEW] Focal (20.04): IR Remote Keys Repeat Many Times Starting with Kernel 5.8.0-49
Public bug reported: The bug reported at https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1926030 affects Focal (20.04). I use an IR remote with the ir-keytable package. Everything was working fine until kernel 5.8.0-49 was automatically installed by Software Updater on Ubuntu 20.04.2. When any key is pressed on the remote, the key is repeated about 500 times. The kernel is now 5.8.0-50, and the problem persists. Other users on the MythTV mailing list are reporting the issue, and it appears that the problem is related to changes in the following files: drivers/media/rc/ir-mce_kbd-decoder.c drivers/media/rc/rc-main.c b/drivers/media/rc/rc-main.c drivers/media/rc/serial_ir.c It has been reported that reverting the ir-mce_kbd-decoder.c and rc- main.c files to the older versions fixes the problem. /proc/version_signature > version.log: Ubuntu 5.8.0-50.56~20.04.1-generic 5.8.18 lspci -vnvn: 00:00.0 Host bridge [0600]: Intel Corporation Xeon E3-1200 v6/7th Gen Core Processor Host Bridge/DRAM Registers [8086:590f] (rev 06) Subsystem: ASUSTeK Computer Inc. [Bug 1926030] Re: IR Remote Keys Repeat Many Times Starting with Kernel 5.8.0-49
I emailed Matthias R and asked him to take a look at this bug report. According to his reply in comment #20 above, the fix was successfully applied to kernel 5.10 but should not have been backported since the problem did not exist in kernels < 5.10. A user on the MythTV forum is successfully using kernel 5.10 with an IR remote with no issue. Other users on the MythTV mailing list are reporting the issue, and it appears that the problem is related to changes in the following files: drivers/media/rc/ir-mce_kbd-decoder.c drivers/media/rc/rc-main.c b/drivers/media/rc/rc-main.c drivers/media/rc/serial_ir.c It has been reported that reverting the ir-mce_kbd-decoder.c and rc- main.c files to the older versions fixes the problem. /proc/version_signature > version.log: Ubuntu 5.8.0-50.56~20.04.1-generic 5.8.18 lspci -vnvn: 00:00.0 Host bridge [0600]: Intel Corporation Xeon E3-1200 v6/7th Gen Core Processor Host Bridge/DRAM Registers [8086:590f] (rev 06) Subsystem: ASUSTeK Computer Inc. [Bug 1906770] Re: Kernel 5.4.0-56 Wi-Fi does not connect
I tried two other Wi-Fi adapters with 5.4.0-58. Both are made by TPLINK but use different chipsets: Realtek RTL8192EU and Atheros AR9271. Both were able to connect successfully to a 2.4GHz 802.11n network. When I tried the Netgear A6210 adapter (Mediatek MT7612U chipset) again, it would not complete a connection as I described earlier. Since the default connection with this adapter is a 5GHz 802.11ac network, I tried switching to the 2.4GHz 802.11n network to which two TPLINK adapters successfully connected. That froze the desktop, requiring a restart. A second attempt after restart also froze the desktop. Reverting to 5.4.0-54 with the Netgear adapter successfully connected to the 5GHz 802.11ac network. This behavior suggests that the problem is with the kernel driver for the Mediatek MT7612U chipset, and possibly others per J.B. (brngr)'s comment. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1906770 Title: Kernel 5.4.0-56 Wi-Fi does not connect To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1906770/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1906770] [NEW] Kernel 5.4.0-56 Wi-Fi does not connect
Public bug reported: After updating to 5.4.0-56 (generic) on Mint 19.3, Wi-Fi cannot complete connection to network with Netgear A6210 USB adapter (Mediatek MT7612U chipset). Network manager can see available networks, but attempting to connect to a network stalls on "connecting" and does not complete connection. Reverting to 5.4.0-54 solves problem. I did not see this problem after updating to 5.4.0-56 on a 10-year-old Toshiba Satellite laptop (also Mint 19.3), so it appears related to the Netgear/Mediatek hardware. ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Attachment added: "Running under kernel 5.4.0-54" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1906770/+attachment/5440850/+files/lspci-vnvn.log -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1906770 Title: Kernel 5.4.0-56 Wi-Fi does not connect To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1906770/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1903420] Re: Qemu clients lose Internet access on upgrade to Groovy Gorilla
To work around this, I used `update-alternatives` to change iptables and ip6tables from iptables-nft to iptables-legacy. At least things function now. (I'm using docker.io and putting RKE's Kubernetes on top of it). It appears that workaround allows the networking to properly work, and also implies that Docker is manipulating the tables using some other method than /usr/sbin/iptables (confirmed in the moby ticket below). I tried starting dockerd with iptables=false, but Kubernetes really needs thorough networking to function.
