[Bug 420424] Re: [Hewlett-Packard HP EliteBook 6930p] suspend/resume failure
Thanks for the instructions. On the first go (sudo rmmod ricoh_mmc) it went into suspend and resumed fine. However the system became unstable and I could not launch any applications. I had to forcibly power off the laptop. Trying the same thing again on the next boot, it unfortunately returned to the previous behavior (suspends fine but on resume the screen is blank apart from the mouse cursor). I'll try a few more times to see if there is any pattern and report back. -- [Hewlett-Packard HP EliteBook 6930p] suspend/resume failure https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/420424 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 420424] Re: [Hewlett-Packard HP EliteBook 6930p] suspend/resume failure
This bug is reproducible and affects me too (updated to latest version on 18th Oct 2009). Suggest this is a regression as suspend/resume worked correctly on same hardware using Jaunty. The laptop appears to suspend okay but on resume the screen is on but apart from the mouse cursor which moves and is controllable by the trackpad the screen is blank. Have to turn off laptop by holding power key as no other key combination has any effect. uname -a Linux ubuntu 2.6.31-14-generic #48-Ubuntu SMP Fri Oct 16 14:04:26 UTC 2009 i686 GNU/Linux ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: New = Confirmed -- [Hewlett-Packard HP EliteBook 6930p] suspend/resume failure https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/420424 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 313000] [NEW] UUID causes error when chainloading
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: grub Using GRUB (version 0.97-29ubuntu45) from Intrepid I coming across a reproducible problem with chainloading and UUID. I'm using a bootable CD using the stage2_eltorito from the GRUB package. I also have a USB drive with a bootable VFAT partition. Entering the commands below manually loads the partition on the USB without fault: root (hd0,1) chainloader +1 boot If I power cycle the computer and replace the 'root (hd0,1)' line with 'uuid=4935-c5b8' above the following is returned: Starting up ... Boot error Hitting the return key continues to load the partition on the USB without fault. Why does GRUB respond with Boot error using the UUID command instead of root? ** Affects: grub (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- UUID causes error when chainloading https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/313000 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
