[Bug 301353] Re: HP Pavilion dv5: ATA exception on resume from suspend
I confirm this bug for the dv5-1160ed. I did a BIOS update (to F14) but it didn't help. When I suspend and then resume I get these errors (among others that I didn't catch in time): ata1: irq_stat 0x0040, connection status changed ata1: SError: {DevExch} ata2: exception Emask 0x10 SAct 0x0 SErr 0x4000 action 0xe frozen and this (ext4) warning: Ext4-fs error (Device sda4) : ext-find-entry: reading directory # *Computer Specs* $ uname -a Linux THW-Laptop 2.6.28-11-generic #38-Ubuntu SMP Fri Mar 27 10:01:17 UTC 2009 x86_64 GNU/Linux lspci -vvn is in the attachment. ** Attachment added: lspci.txt http://launchpadlibrarian.net/24739505/lspci.txt -- HP Pavilion dv5: ATA exception on resume from suspend https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/301353 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 301353] Re: HP Pavilion dv5: ATA exception on resume from suspend
I forgot to add that when it gives the errors and then I press the power button it goes out of the errors and gives a black screen with a X-server cursor. I also forgot to add that I am using ext4, but I think this was clear anyway... -- HP Pavilion dv5: ATA exception on resume from suspend https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/301353 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 351870] Re: Sound doesn't work after update to Jaunty
I screwed around with my existing installation too much and had to do a fresh install of 9.04 beta and the sound works _fine_ now. One minor glitch is that the sound drops out once in a while. This can be fixed by changing the volume, after that it works OK. I will update my other computer (with similar sound-card) to see if the problem occurs when updating or if this was a one-time thing. I will do this as soon as possible! I included my sha256sum anyway: # sha256sum /usr/lib/pulse-0.9/modules/module-console-kit.so 73876ceec13d673bad77bf91bda77ad2fff08b12fdbaabdd3e4c0ebd71f4a293 /usr/lib/pulse-0.9/modules/module-console-kit.so -- Sound doesn't work after update to Jaunty https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/351870 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 351870] [NEW] Sound doesn't work after update to Jaunty
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: pulseaudio I updated from Intrepid to the Jaunty beta 1 (Kubuntu) and the sound (that always worked perfectly in earlier versions, btw) stopped working. It stopped working _completely_, so not even a startup sound. Chipset: $ lspci | grep Audio 00:1b.0 Audio device: Intel Corporation 82801I (ICH9 Family) HD Audio Controller (rev 03) Version: $ uname -a Linux THW 2.6.28-11-generic #38-Ubuntu SMP Fri Mar 27 10:01:17 UTC 2009 x86_64 GNU/Linux It probably has to do with Pulseaudio: a pop-up at the startup says that it failed to load PulseAudio. When I start Pulseaudio: (Note: Changed a few warnings to English, so some warnings might be a bit off, but the essence is the same) $ pulseaudio I: caps.c: Limited capabilities successfully to CAP_SYS_NICE.
