Re: [Bug 1906686] Re: Xorg freeze
Daniel, Tnx for the prompt reply. Here are my findings: re 1.: /var/crash is empty. There are no files. Just to let you know://Immediately after I logged in, I switched to one screen mode. The system did not crash. I assume, that older crash files should be in /var/crash from earlier crashes. Again: Nio files. re2.: Here is the required link. I replaced the string 'ID' with the content of whoopsie-id: https://errors.ubuntu.com/user/5fd549dc7d50ea7eb81a704d3d2508e0449eaf07c1bdac5a59b01203286966824e3c72d60dc218f5ed382637afa126117fc43d759958cb058b07afa624e85a14 Strange enough, it leads me to a Nautilus error with the date Oct. 15. I think I still ran Ubuntu 18.04 in October - to my best knowledge. And I cannot imagine, that Nautilus has got something to do with my system freeze. re 3.: I did not manage to find out what the workaround from bug 994921 could be. Nevertheless I send this email now and will revert to dual screen mode again and see what's happening. As I said: If the bug with the system freeze occurs, the system becomes unusable. There is even no reaction to key strokes. I only can force my system down be pressing the on/off button. If this is of any help: I still have an 18.04 partition running on the system, which runs flawlessly. Could this be of any help for error detection? Tnx for the time being, I will let you know of further outcomes. [Bug 1906686] [NEW] Xorg freeze
Public bug reported: Hi everyone, when searching for problems with the display, I was siggested, that it it an xorg problem. That is all I understand. I ran into problems with display feezes after upgrading from 18.04 LTS to 20.04. I run the system (a Lenovo K320 Ideacenter) with two screens. Main display connected with HDMI connection and the secondary screen with the classical pin plug (XGA?). I write theis report after booting with recovery mode. Nothing freezes, but the scrren resolution is unsatisfatory and both displays show the same desktop - as expected. My work really requires two screens and for many reasons I prefer this work being performed under Ubuntu and not windows. As I said: No problem under 18.04 with the display freeze. I am using Ubuntu 20.04.1 LTS Release:20.04 Just in case xorg is the source problem: Installed: 1:7.7+19ubuntu14 Candidate: 1:7.7+19ubuntu14 Version table: *** 1:7.7+19ubuntu14 500 500 http://at.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu focal/main amd64 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status My graphics card is an ATI Radeon. [Bug 321889] Re: Please merge solr 1.4.0+ds1-1 (universe) from Debian testing/unstable (main)
Hi, I'm heavily occupied with exams right now. From what I recall, I've choosen glassfish-mail randomly to compile dataimporthandler-extras, which in the end wasn't included, because dataimporthandler-extras also depends on other packages (like tika) which are not available in Debian. Please try to drop the glassfish-mail dependency. It should compile and run. -- Please merge solr 1.4.0+ds1-1 (universe) from Debian testing/unstable (main) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/321889 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 94761] Re: [needs-packaging] PDT Php Developement Tools (Eclipse plugin)
Hi Brett, I've some experiences with packaging for Debian although I'm not a Debian Developer. So I can't sponsor any uploads from packages you do. But once the package is ready I believe we'll find a sponsor. If you're new to Debian packaging then there's a lot you need to learn. You may want to start reading the Debian New Maintainer Guide[1]. I also recommend you to use GIT as VCS for the packaging. You can ask me questions on jabber via thkoch2001 ät debianforum.de or via mail thomas ät koch.ro Good luck! There is another project to create eclipse plugins for PHP development, PHP Development Tools (PDT).
