[Bug 557290] Re: Make gnu-smalltalk build on lucid
Jean, Thanks for explaining that. Anyway, the package finished building without any errors. It installed fine. I could run gst fine too. I'm also having the same problem with the version in Jaunty. $ apt-cache policy pbzip2 pbzip2: Installed: 1.0.3-1 Candidate: 1.0.3-1 Version table: *** 1.0.3-1 0 500 http://mirror.lcsee.wvu.edu jaunty/universe Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status However when my office was running Hardy, pbzip2 vesrion 1.0.2-0, we had no issues with large files. I've grabbed and compiled the 1.0.2-0 version on jaunty with debugging enabled. On a large 14 GB file the 1.0.2-0 version operates correctly. The reason that pbzip2 isn't working is related to the off_t variable. In hardy it's correctly getting set to 8 while in hardy it's 4 after it's compiled. Hey Dustin, Thanks for looking at this bugl I'm running Hardy LSR version of KVM in an educational department and I think the number of issues we've experienced with the LSR KVM version require SRU addressing. I appreciate you working on backporting the more up to date version of KVM more than a bug comment can express. :-D At the same time I do not want to see this error message being removed from /var/log/kern.log as it was instrumental to being able to discern which virtual host was (we tested) the source of our virtual host silicon and steel machines becoming unresponsive. -- dmesg is flooded with warnings in kvm/mmu.c https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/243393 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 243393] Re: dmesg is flooded with warnings in kvm/mmu.c
I know this comment doesn't help much -- but I want to add my $0.02. We had a virtual machine host which went unresponsive on April 4th (10 days ago). All of the hosted virtual machines were behaving correctly. Today while diagnosing the unresponsive virtual host I saw >3MB worth of the error message the OP posted spammed in my /var/log/kern.log. That's one symptom... Early last March the same problem (unresponsive, no ssh, no virsh, etc) was affecting the same virtual machine host. When we went to diagnose the afflicted virtual machine host we discovered it's primary hard drive (/dev/sda) had failed. Might just be a correlation. I'm hope I'm not just adding static to the signal with these comments. Here's some system specs: virtual machine host: Ubuntu Hardy Heron (Customized system profile). 4 GB ram. [Bug 122281] Re: eject not available in the initrd
Martin, Thanks for your notice in this bug. I've looked for eject in these folders: /bin /usr/bin /usr/sbin /target/bin/ /target/usr/bin /target/usr/sbin After the installation process happens for a period of time the actual 'eject' command gets installed into /target/usr/bin, no eject-udeb is getting installed. Once I picked up eject's presence I attempted to use it to eject the CD- ROM containing the initrd. Here's what happened: /target/usr/bin/eject: unable to find or open device for: `cdrom` Running 'eject' with no options does not produce a working solution, appending the command with the full path to the cdrom device however works correctly. That is, "/target/usr/bin/eject /dev/scd0", successfully ejects the CD- ROM. I'm going to add that to out late-command and make sure the solution still works. I'm optimistic and will post a follow up response to this ticket with the results. -- eject not available in the initrd https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/122281 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 253306] Re: [sync request] Sync from debian testing 5.5-4 version
" AVRDUDE is a full featured FreeBSD Unix program for programming Atmel's AVR CPU's. It can program the Flash and EEPROM, and where supported by the serial programming protocol, it can program fuse and lock bits. AVRDUDE also supplies a direct instruction mode allowing one to issue any programming instruction to the AVR chip regardless of whether AVRDUDE implements that specific feature of a particular chip. AVRDUDE can be used effectively via the command line to read or write all chip memory types (eeprom, flash, fuse bits, lock bits, signature bytes) or via an interactive (terminal) mode. Using AVRDUDE from the command line works well for programming the entire memory of the chip from the contents of a file, while interactive mode is useful for exploring memory contents, modifing individual bytes of eeprom, programming fuse/lock bits, etc. " Sounds useful to me. -- [sync request] Sync from debian testing 5.5-4 version https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/253306 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 155061] Re: slocate typo: "serach_db"
I'm trying to get into MOTUs and this is my first whack at this. I went and got the source for slocate, fixed it, dch'd, then built the source package with dpkg-buildpackage -S -sd -rfakeroot I read about debdiff and then I generated this patch using the following command $ debdiff slocate_3.1-1.1ubuntu3.dsc slocate_3.1-1.1ubuntu4.dsc > slocate-3.1.patch ** Attachment added: "slocate-3.1.patch" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/14076524/slocate-3.1.patch -- slocate typo: "serach_db" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/155061 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
