[Bug 305678] Re: Unresponsive extract button with multi-part rar file

2009-02-13 Thread Tim Perry
Completely reproducible on any archive (either rars, as mentioned by the
submitter, or any zips or tarballs or even debs) both my desktop and
laptop, both running up to date intrepid.

Open any archive with file-roller, click extract and then click extract
in the folder selection window that appears. Nothing happens.

If you then focus the actual file/folder selection pane within the
folder selection window by clicking any file or folder in it and then
click extract, everything works perfectly.

[Bug 305678] Re: Unresponsive extract button with multi-part rar file

2008-12-09 Thread Tim Perry
I get this as well. In fact, you don't even need to go up and down
directories, just focus the directory selection panel (say, click a
normal file, all of which are greyed out) and then click extract and
it'll work.

I get this extracting any file that I've tried, multipart rar or no. I'm
running up to date Ibex with file-roller 2.24.1.

[Bug 235990] Re: pulseaudio hangs

2008-11-17 Thread Tim Perry
Having the same issue. Rhythmbox reaches a new song and stops dead, a
couple of hours in, and locks the whole app. Only cure is killing
pulseaudio (-KILL) and restarting it.

This is a up to date ibex (x86) installed clean a few days ago.

[Bug 207219] Re: gvfs Issue with LAN

2008-04-05 Thread Tim Perry
Seems to be fixed for me after updating today (5/4/08). Haven't updated
for a few days, but it's definitely an update from within the past week.

Thanks to whoever did that =D.

[Bug 207219] Re: gvfs Issue with LAN

2008-03-26 Thread Tim Perry
Same problem.

I'm connecting by just typing into the address bar. Connecting with
"ssh://[EMAIL PROTECTED]/directory", "sftp://[EMAIL PROTECTED]/directory",
"ftp://[EMAIL PROTECTED]/directory" or "smb://ip/directory" (with or without a
specified directory) all give me the first listing of files and folders
for wherever, and then when i try to open a file or a folder nothing
happens and after waiting about 30 seconds i get:

"Couldn't display 'ftp://[EMAIL PROTECTED]/directory'.

Error: DBus error org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.NoReply: Did not receive a reply.
Possible causes include: the remote application did not send a reply, the
message bus security policy blocked the reply, the reply timeout expired, or
the network connection was broken.
Please select another viewer and try again."

Regardless of the title of this bug, it doesn't matter if it's a local
server or internet. Essentially the whole of the virtual filesystem
setup in nautilus is completely broken (barring the first listing) for
me/us.

This is an upgrade to Hardy from Gutsy on 32 bit machine. Compiz etc is
going on (shrug). Nothing particularly special about the network, and
this server is perfectly accessible through gftp or ssh/scp with no
problems on this machine, and was perfectly usable pre-hardy.

[Bug 81407] Re: [Feisty] Thinkpad (all models) LCD brightness control cycles between lowest settings only

2007-08-19 Thread Tim Perry
Also having this problem on an Apple Macbook. Core ONE Duo 1.83Ghz (not
pro). It works almost perfectly if I kill gnome-power-manager, but with
no on-screen brightness information at all. What details do you need?

[Bug 131446] Re: [gutsy]Deskbar results appears in a window

2007-08-11 Thread Tim Perry
Another vote for the old version back! Not only do I no want any extra
windows, I'd REALLY like my keyboard shortcut that opens the applet, to
close it again, as it used to do. Unfortunately, it now doesn't. Not
useful.

[Bug 102270] Re: applesmc: wait status failed: c != 8

2007-07-21 Thread Tim Perry
I realize this is an old thread, but I've just got this too, for no
discernable reason.

On a macbook core (one) duo I'm getting:

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ dmesg | grep applesmc
[ 19.004000] applesmc: Apple MacBook detected:

[28137.696000] applesmc: wait status failed: c != 18
[28917.708000] applesmc: wait status failed: c != 18

(Note, 18 not 8). Not sure what this means, and nothing appears to be
particularly wrong symptomwise... Its just errors. And at the top it
seems to initialise with no problems at all. Does anyone know what the
wait status means?

uname -a gives:

[Bug 57164] Re: upgrade of xserver-xorg-core breaks xserver

2006-08-21 Thread Tim Perry
I've had this too. I've got ATI X800SE and im running dapper x86_64. I tried
both fglrx driver and radeon ('ati' driver has never worked with my card since
day 1).
I dropped back down to 1:1.0.2-0ubuntu10 and it's up again no problem.
I've attached my Xorg.0.log file in case it helps anyone find a fix.
