[Bug 731418] [NEW] mp3 playback not working on IGEPv2 board
Public bug reported: On IGEPv2 board with linaro image linaro-n-developer-tar-20110216-0 installed. Using text2wave to create a .wav file from a text file, and then lame to create a .mp3 file from the .wav file. text2wave text_file.txt -o text_file.wav lame -f text_file.wav text_file.mp3 executing " aplay text_file.wav " works fine as it plays back the .wav file without problems. [Bug 677075] [NEW] wifi on IGEPv2 board broken in 2.6.35-1008-linaro-omap
Public bug reported: if booting linaro kernel version 2.6.35-1008-linaro-omap, with hwpack_linaro-igep_20101109-1_armel.tar.gz, the Marvell WLAN 802.11 adapter is never instantiated on the board preventing the wifi interface from coming up. Replacing the kernel with 2.6.35-1007-linaro-omap, the adapter is properly instantiated and a wireless connection is later made. One area of concern is commit 00cd6e6ad383061b7111f7cff3d0f84b73d3c0c7 (igepv2: Remove VMMC2 regulator), which removes an unused regulator entry, but left the second MMC channel (used by the Libertas WLAN mudule) without link to power regulator. This causes the SDIO module to fail being detected. (per eballetbo) Since WIFI/BT (MMC2) requires link to power regulator to be detected, the SDIO card on mmc2 is not detected and the libertas_sdio driver is not loaded at boot time due to lack of power. Without libertas_sdio, the Marvel chip is not instantiated and wifi support is not enabled. ** Affects: linux-linaro (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- wifi on IGEPv2 board broken in 2.6.35-1008-linaro-omap https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/677075 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 672715] [NEW] LED on IGEPv2 board is enabled with 0 and instead of with 1
Public bug reported: on board LED defined as green:d1 has reverse logic to determine if the led is turned on or not. Usually a value of 0 written to the its gpio position turns leds off, however in this case a value of 0 turns this led on while a value of 1 turns it off Simple user level tests to demonstrate this is insmod led-class.ko insmod leds-gpio.ko cd /sys/class/leds cat gpio-led\:green\:d1/brightness You can alter the value of the field via echo 0 > gpio-led\:green\:d1/brightness and echo 1 > gpio-led\:green\:d1/brightness with each echo, the led on the board toggles In this example, "echo 0 > gpio-led\:green\:d1/brightness" should cause the led to turn off while "echo 1 > gpio-led\:green\:d1/brightness" should cause it to turn on. [Bug 639852] Re: Linaro Daily build 20100915 does not boot on Beagle XM A2 boards
The resolution here was a problem both in the daily builds and with the linaro-media-create tool. The media create tool was looking to pull the x-loader file (aka MLO file) along with the boot loader file (u-boot.bin file) from the /boot directory on the rootfs partition. The media create tool was expecting to pull those files onto the boot partition as it was creating such a partition. But, the files were not in the expected places and therefore did not get moved over to the boot partition As the execution of the media create tool continued, no detection was made to alert the users the x-loader and boot loaders were not present. So the user continues to boot with the newly created sd card and was therefore not able to boot. One aspect of this problem has been fixed but the second aspect needs to be addressed (see bug #639862 linaro-media-create tool fails silently ) This bug can be closed as the 20100916-0 Linaro daily build has the appropriate changes to linaro-media-create tool and the headless tar ball now contain the MLO and u-boot.bin files, and, a method to extract those from the tar ball and properly place onto the boot partition. ** Changed in: linux-linaro (Ubuntu) Status: New => Fix Committed -- Linaro Daily build 20100915 does not boot on Beagle XM A2 boards https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/639852 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 639862] [NEW] linaro-media-create tool fails silently
Public bug reported: there are a few cases within the tool where it's not able to find a file or path and instead of it failing and/or exiting, it keeps going. One example is if [ ! ${IMAGE_FILE} ]; then for device in /dev/disk/by-id/*; do if [ `realpath $device` = $MMC ]; then if echo "$device" | grep -q -- "-part[0-9]*$"; then echo "device $MMC must not be a partition part ($device)" 1>&2 exit 1 fi for part_id in `ls "$device-part"*`; do part=`realpath $part_id` part_no=`echo $part_id | sed -e 's/.*-part//g'` # echo "part $part_no found: $part_id" 1>&2 if test "$part_no" = 1; then MMC1=$part elif test "$part_no" = 2; then MMC2=$part elif test "$part_no" = 3; then MMC3=$part fi done break fi done fi If the loop stating " for part_id in `ls "$device-part"*`; do " fails (for example can not find the files), we should possibly exit the tool since MMC[123] will possibly not be set beagle|igep) if [ "$DEVIMAGE" = "beagle" ]; then if [ -e binary/${parts_dir}/${MLO_FILE} ] && [ -e binary/${parts_dir}/${UBOOT_FILE} ]; then sudo cp -v binary/${parts_dir}/${MLO_FILE} ${DIR}/disk/MLO sudo cp -v binary/${parts_dir}/${UBOOT_FILE} ${DIR}/disk/u-boot.bin fi fi In this case we only move over the MLO and uboot files if they are present and executable. However since beagle board requires those files to boot, there should be logic exit from linaro-media-create tool if those files are not present ** Affects: linux-linaro (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- linaro-media-create tool fails silently https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/639862 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

the read-only fix (patch) was not added to the linaro kernel by Beta time so its expected there are problems with the boot partition being mounted read-only.
