2020-05-09 Thread Trebacz
I'm experiencing the bug. Can I I get some general instructions to
install "focal"? When is it likely to be integrated into a 5.4 release.
or should I wait for another release.

[Bug 1874999] Re: 19.10 -> 20.04 do-release-upgrade always saying no new release found

2020-05-06 Thread Trebacz
Don't mean to whine but I'm on 19.10 - According to quora
https://www.quora.com/What-does-a-few-days-mean . 3-10 days after. It
seems to have been more than that (13 by my count). Some communication
would be awesome. Or maybe my install is just broken. Please don't
release to soon, but I'm also not seeing any significant public issues
mentioned.

[Bug 1588212] Re: package mysql-common 5.7.12-0ubuntu1 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 2

2016-09-17 Thread Trebacz
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1579708 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1579708

I understand that this bug exists, since I made some changes to my local
file structure. In my case I deleted the file /etc/mysql/my.cnf.fallback
while doing some troubleshooting/maintenance. I just copied the
/etc/mysql/debian.cnf file and the script ran fine.

sudo /etc/mysql/debian.cnf /etc/mysql/my.cnf.fallback

I assume the fallback is used if there is every a need.

[Bug 858122] Re: incomplete migration to /run (shutdown script order has been demolished)

2011-10-17 Thread Trebacz
Much like the responder in #24. I became a subscriber to this bug to to
the errors that I was seeing after the upgrade from 11.04 to 11.10.
Based on what I'm seeing in my system logs it seems the video driver
integration into the latest 3.0.0-12.20 kernel is borked. My upgrade
reported that the machine was likely left in a unstable state. I found
that I could log into my system using the old kernel 2.6.38-11. I was
seeing the symptoms of this bug, but do have symlinks to /var/run and
/var/lock. My system does utilize smb4k and nvidia-current for my video
driver.

Now I'd like to understand what I need to do to get my nvidia-current
correctly installed with the 3.0.0-12.20 new kernel.

[Bug 326609] Re: [MASTER] No flash in firefox after upgrade from intrepid to jaunty

2009-04-24 Thread Trebacz
I upgraded from Intrepid 8.10 AMD64 to Jaunty 9.04 AMD64. Flash had been
working flawlessly in 8.10 64 bit version. I was receiving the dreaded
grey box where a flash animation should be in Firefox.

In my case flashplugin-nonfree was not installed (after the upgrade).
I'm sure it was before. To be more specific when I ran:

sudo apt-get remove flashplugin-nonfree

It reported it as not installed.

In my case I just installed it using

sudo apt-get install flashplugin-nonfree

Restarted Firefox 3.0.9 -and flash plays fine. Hopefully it will stay
that way.

[Bug 242153] Re: Bookmarks feature of google toolbar is not working in the Ubuntu firefox 3.0 version

2008-10-04 Thread Trebacz
It appears to be a known and reported issue with the Google Toolbar team
in regards to x64 bit Linux systems. Google reports:

Please note that the Toolbar doesn't currently support 64-bit systems.
Some users have resolved this issue by installing an official build of
Mozilla Firefox from http://www.getfirefox.com;

Hopefully you can view the issue at:

Stringi had multiple extremely large cfs files in the clucene directory.
I delete them and they come back after a few days. There is actually
very little on the hard drive of this machine -other than some backup
created by BackupPC and several Samba shares. What in the world is
Stringi indexing?

[Bug 220503] Re: Kubuntu 64 bit no sound hardy 8.04 upgrade from gutsy 7.10

2008-04-22 Thread Trebacz
I am able to get the sound working only if I go to kmenu-system
settings-advanced-system services and start alsa-utils then as if by a
miracle the sounds works well. If I reboot I have no sound. If I set
alsa-utils to run at startup -I don't have any sound. I have to start
the service manually. I hope this helps someone troubleshoot the upgrade
issue.

[Bug 220503] [NEW] Kubuntu 64 bit no sound hardy 8.04 upgrade from gutsy 7.10

2008-04-21 Thread Trebacz
Public bug reported:

Machine had working sound under Gutsy 64 bit -no changes. Only upgraded
to Hardy Release candidate (OS Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.24.16-generic)
and now don't have sound (in KDE3.5.9 or KDE 4).

Checked all the settings in KMIX. Have changed the sound hardware
settings from auto detect to all other settings. Still no sounds. Please
let me know what other information would be necessary to help
troubleshoot this bug.

Sound hardware is on my motherboard.
