[Bug 674235] Re: System Testing: Internal Microphone Does Not Record

2010-11-18 Thread Ubulindy
Ok, same problem in 10.04, and after upgrading to 10.10
Here is a workaround that DOES work:
Open a terminal and type following commands

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ubuntu-audio-dev/ppa
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install linux-alsa-driver-modules-$(uname -r)

Note: After installing the linux-alsa-driver-modules package, your
system needs to be rebooted. REBOOT

After rebooting open a terminal and type: alsamixer.. you will be presented
with a mixer..
press F4 for "capture" you will see a list of mics available. I had to go thru
all of them, and turned out that internal mic was "mic F"

If you click on the your gnome icon for speakers and go to sound prefs and then
input, you will be able to see when your "bars" start moving at the same time
you are testing in the above alsa mixer going thru the available mics.
**If for any reason you need to revert the change, type in terminal:
sudo apt-get remove linux-alsa-driver-modules-$(uname -r)
Tested and works in both Lucid and Meerkat

Good luck!!

[Bug 622052] Re: [Conexant ID 5067] ALSA test tone not correctly played back

2010-08-29 Thread Ubulindy
OMG, what you suggested worked!!! I am SO happy I have no words, lol.
My internal mic now works!! Thank you Luke Yelavich!! :-D Here is
what I did:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ubuntu-audio-dev/ppa
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install linux-alsa-driver-modules-$(uname -r)
Rebooted
Opened up Gnome Volume ( went to "input" )
Opened up ALSA Mixer ( side by side )
Under "capture", the mic was set to "mic b", as soon as I set it to "mic f " I
could see the bars moving, and I was hopeful. I then launched Skype and for the
first time I now have internal mic. Works quite well. I had to turn down the
"mic boost" in the ALSA Mixer to 20db. Works flawlessly!! I cant thank you
enough!!!

[Bug 584051] Re: No internal mic in Ubuntu 10.04 Toshiba Satellite P505

2010-05-23 Thread Ubulindy
Luke Yelavich hi. Please let me know what info you need and how I go about
getting it, so I can get you enough info that you will mark this bug as
complete and legit.
As I google around trying to find a fix for this I see Im not alone. Most agree
has has something to do with alsa and the default now being pulse audio I
believe. In the gnome volume manager under input, I have no "microphone" or
"line in" option like I always had. Im Multi Media Selector, there is no
detection of the internal mic. I can plug in an external mic however and it
works. Big disadvantage for Skype users ect., and for me. Seems its like a hit
and miss. Some laptops have working mics and some dont.
Anyways let me know where to get the logs, ect, and/or commands to run so I can
get you the info you need.
Thanks

[Bug 393983] Re: gyachi pm/GYach-E 1.1.71 IM

2009-10-27 Thread Ubulindy
I too am having the same issue. Been using gyachi for 4 years now, never
a problem, then all of a sudden, this started. Im on 8.04, was using
Gyachi 1.1.48, but also reverted back to 1.1.31, 1.1.10 and 1.1.05,
all with the same issue. I googled around, and it seems that when Yahoo
itself re-vamped everything recently, they MAY have blocked all outside
non-official releases of yahoo. Pidgin is having the same issue as well
as it wont even connect at all. Hope this gets fixed soon. My system
also detects no issues as far as logged events/errors.

[Bug 305131] Re: I can't recieve e-mail but I can send by Evolution

2009-09-29 Thread ubulindy
No matter what I do, I can send mail from Evolution that does indeed show up in
my gmail, I can NOT however receive mail. These are the steps I have taken:
1) signed into gmali, checked off pop mail, saved settings, logged out
2) opened evolution, settings have been: pop.gmail.com

pop.res.rr.gmail.com

pop.rr.gmail.com

pop.gmail.com:995
Have tried every config known to man, all of them with and without using a
port, with and without using TLS/encryption, and even without a pasword... even
tried port 110.
110 doesnt show in my firewall, 995 does, and I even have it forwarded. To NO
avail. This is driving me NUTS

Re: [Bug 145851] Re: xchat crashed with SIGSEGV

2007-09-29 Thread ubulindy
Well, if I could reproduce it, and type it out like you want it, I could
probably also fix it! What I do, is start X Chat from the panel icon, or the
list under "internet", then X-Chat IRC (x-chat gnome crashes the same way).
X-Chat partially comes up, with parts still not visible, hangs, and then
crashes. Just disappears. If I start x-chat via terminal, this is what I
get:
 [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ xchat
Segmentation fault (core dumped)
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$

Here is a printscreen:

[Bug 144165] deluge crashed with ) in ()

2007-09-22 Thread ubulindy
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: deluge-torrent

Clicked icon, Deluge started, and then just disappeared, several times.
Finally, it stayed open, and running. Now, fully freezes up, when trying
to download and install any of the block lists for either peer guardian,
peer safe, or e-mule. Can not download or install block list at all.
Renders Deluge unusable, because freezes. Can not access the plug in for
block list now, along with the preferences is not unaccessible (greyed
out). Also, can not adjust speed per torrent. If you try to throttle a
torrent back, the entire torrent goes to 0 kbs, no matter what speed you
try to set it at.

Public bug reported:

amavisd-new: subprocess post installation script returned error exit 1
Every time I get an auto update, or a partial distro upgrade, it aborts, due to
the above error. Everything seems to be going fine, and then, it tells me it
has to abort.
When I google this, I get either something to do with ISPConfig, AV milter, or
mail handling? Too many to guess from
Regardless, they all say "grave"
