Are you sure we should dismiss the modifications ? What if the user did them mistakenly in the temp file, the warning lets him know they may be lost... Or maybe we should just make the buffer non editable, but that me be useful sometimes... Public bug reported: The desktop background refreshes only in a 1024x768 part of the first monitor. When moving a window in the area outside the top-left (in the external monitor) the desktop background is not updated after the window has passed on it. Same thing when iconifying windows. I cannot attach a screenshot showing the problem because the PrintScreen key generates only a 1024x768 picture... Screenshot does not work, but camera does... You can see the path the gnome-terminal window took to reach its destination at the bottom of the interanl LVDS screen of the laptop... Another side effect of this bug happens when using synergy to share the mouse and keyboard to another computer. The cursor goes to the other computer just when passing the 1024x768 limit. could you try something to help pinpoint the bug ? edit /usr/bin/meld, at line 32, you should see something like: sys.path += [ /usr/lib/meld ] try to replace the line with: sys.path[0:0] = [ /usr/lib/meld ] just replace += with [0:0] = and launch meld again, the same way as when it was failing, and report. I'm sending this comment, while 6.06 release is installing in the backgroung, my setup was the same as previously stated, but this time the partitionner seems to have correctly mke2fs'ed the partition. There was a warning about the partition table, that I quickly ignored...
