[Bug 605150] Re: meld throws exception when it doesn't have permission to read file present in both directories

2011-01-28 Thread VinceLe
Could you try the attached patch, please ?
It should apply properly to git master HEAD (aka current upstream source from
git)

to test, save the attached patch file to your Desktop directory, then
do, in a terminal window:

git clone git://git.gnome.org/meld
cd meld
git apply
~/Desktop/0001-Meld-throws-exception-when-it-doesn-t-have-permissio.patch
./bin/meld /etc/ w

And tell us if it's working for you.

[Bug 668238] Re: When using meld as a source code browser, and you change the temp file it asks if you want to save changes to the temp file

2010-10-29 Thread VinceLe
Are you sure we should dismiss the modifications ?

What if the user did them mistakenly in the temp file,
the warning lets him know they may be lost...

Or maybe we should just make the buffer non editable,
but that me be useful sometimes...

So I'm not really sure this is a bug, maybe the message
should explain more accurately the situation.

I have a very similar problem.

I was running karmic on 2.6.31 almost fine (evdev was as usual completely not
working so I used kbd)
yesterday it was working and now the xserver doesn't start with:
(EE) config/hal: NewInputDeviceRequest failed (8)

it's xorg-server 2:1.6.4-2ubuntu4

I tried xorg-edgers ppa, still not working, I tried evdev back and
forth, no luck either

2009-05-19 Thread VinceLe
I was trying to reproduce this bug to confirm it since I get the same
error with other packages (not with python-visual) but can't get python
visual to work this package dependencies seem not handled properly:

it required numarray (wasn't installed) or numeric (was installed):
 from visual import *

  File /usr/lib/python2.6/dist-packages/visual/__init__.py, line 15, in

  File /usr/lib/python2.6/dist-packages/visual/array_backend.py, line 50, in
module
raise RuntimeError, Neither Numeric nor numarray could be found.
RuntimeError: Neither Numeric nor numarray could be found.

Then after having installed numarray:
 from visual import *

2009-04-26 Thread VinceLe
30 Dell WFP 3008

The bug disappear when compiz is not active, so it may not be related to the

[Bug 366858] [NEW] screen not completely refreshed in multimonitor config

2009-04-25 Thread VinceLe
Public bug reported:

The desktop background refreshes only in a 1024x768 part of the first
monitor.

When moving a window in the area outside the top-left (in the external monitor)
the desktop background is not updated after the window has passed on it.
Same thing when iconifying windows.

I cannot attach a screenshot showing the problem because the PrintScreen
key generates only a 1024x768 picture...

Setup:
- Sony VAIO TT90
- intel X4500 MHD
- internal LVDS @ native 1366x768
- external HDMI-2 @ native 1920x1200 (placed above the LVDS)

Jaunty 9.04, fresh installation:

compiz: 1:0.8.2-0ubuntu8
xorg: 1:7.4~5ubuntu18
xserver-xorg-core: 2:1.6.0-0ubuntu14
xserver-xorg-video-intel: 2:2.6.3-0ubuntu9

Seems related to compiz / COMPOSITE because when running without
desktop effects, the screen refreshes properly.

Another side effect of this bug happens when using synergy
to share the mouse and keyboard to another computer.

The cursor goes to the other computer just when passing

Another effect: in nautilus filemanager's combobox
to choose between modes (icon, list view, etc...)
when clicked, the choices appear only in the
1024x768 portion of the screen. so if the window
is in here, the choices appear at the right place,
whereas if the window is placed outside, the
choices appear misplaced.

[Bug 367010] [NEW] svk input handling broken

2009-04-25 Thread VinceLe
Public bug reported:

When using some command-line application (meld latest git revision)
after the command has finished and the control is returned to the shell,
pressing the return key does not make the shell go to the next line, but
instead a new prompt is printed from where it was:

$ $ $ $

$ dash

2009-04-16 Thread VinceLe
I have changed the title of the bug to the exact error message that is
shown.

Steps to reproduce
not always reproducible, but frequent enough to be annoying
about once a day
~1/3 of refreshes...
- launch synaptic
- click the refresh button
- files are downloaded
- then a popup window appears:

An error occurred
The following details are provided:
E: The package cache file is corrupted
E: _cache-open() failed, please report.

That error window could tell us exactly which file is corrupted, so we
can attach it to bug reports...

The popup window only has a close button which closes synaptic when
clicked...

I have the same problem.
1360x768 here, so it's not the size that matters...
I think kompare mixes maximized window and full screen mode.

Yes, this is certainly the same bug.

Could you send the output of

as Adam Collar asked in the other bug

[Bug 360097] Re: meld crashed with AttributeError in module()

2009-04-12 Thread VinceLe
could you try something to help pinpoint the bug ?

edit /usr/bin/meld, at line 32, you should see something like:

sys.path += [ /usr/lib/meld ]

try to replace the line with:

sys.path[0:0] = [ /usr/lib/meld ]

just replace += with [0:0] =
and launch meld again, the same way as when it was failing, and report.

We're in the process of making a new release, so this one should be
fixed before.

[Bug 26660] Re: partman doesn't like new HFSX partitions

2006-06-26 Thread VinceLe
I'm sending this comment, while 6.06 release is installing in the
backgroung, my setup was the same as previously stated, but this time
the partitionner seems to have correctly mke2fs'ed the partition. There
was a warning about the partition table, that I quickly ignored...

Will update after the first boot attempt...

Argh, I think I shouldn't have ignored the partition table warning. The
installer crashed at the end, with the following python backtrace:

With the end of /var/log/installer/syslog being, just before the same

And /var/log/syslog being empty...

Rebooting anyway...
