[Bug 595650] Re: after the last updates printer stopped working
I tried to add a printer from CUPS web interface. But find printer and add printer 'hangs' (web time-out). With hp-setup I can add the printer, but the printer doesn't print. Thanks for your help. [Bug 549382] Re: autoformat cells cannot turn off
Thanks Chris for looking into this. Actually, it reverts the time format, so it doesn't work for me. What happens is: I type in: 18.01 it gets converted to: 18-01-10 I right click, select Getalnotatie (Notation, or number formatting??), and Time, and HH:MM. What I get is: 00:00 I type in: 18.01 It gets again converted to: 18-01-10 So I cannot type in 18.01 and keep it that way. (By the way, I could type in 18:01 and that would work, but all the cells in my timesheet are entered as: 17.59 etc. so for me it would not work to type in 18:01.) The second implicit question I have, is: I like to turn off auto- formatting, because for me, it messes things up. And I cannot. So that's a feature request I'd like to enter. Re: [Bug 397980] Re: evolution deletes all e-mails in a folder after renaming
Thanks for your quick response. The problem is reproducible: Steps: -create a new main folder with name 'test1' -in folder 'test1' create subfolder 'test2' -move some messages e.g. from the 'removed messages' folder into folder 'test1' -move a message from folder 'test1' into folder 'test2' -rename folder 'test1' to 'test3'. -move one message from folder 'test3' into subfolder 'test2'. after completion of this action folder 'test3' contains no messages. only the subfolder 'test2' is present. -subfolder 'test2' contains only the message that was moved into this subfolder in the previous step.the message move earlier into this subfolder has disappeared. I repeated this test as follows: -create a new main folder with name 'test1'. -in folder 'test1' create subfolder 'test2'. -in subfolder 'test2' create subsubfolder 'testx'. -move messages into 'test1', 'test2' and testx'. -rename 'test1' to 'test3'. -move a message from 'test1' into 'testx'. : 'test3' lost all messages, the messages in 'test2' survived, 'testx' contained only the message moved just into this subsubfolder. Hope this helps to solve the problem. Hello, I seem to be having the same problem. Since approximately a week, the sound does not work for all movies I play using FF. Today I had time to examine the problem, and Totem is not detecting my sound: Volume up and volume down do not function and playing mp3s gives no sound, although visualisation do show. In contrast, Rhythmbox plays my music as usual. I am using a Fujitsu Amilo Li notebook using Atheros Wifi and ATI AMD graphics drivers. Thanks for examining this problem -- I use linux (and new to it) and 2 days ago the video and sound was working fine, watching some simpsons and then today I still see the video but there's no sound... the speakrs are conected to the out-put in the computer just like before. what options need I check to try and solve this problem. thanks https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/39 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 325302] [NEW] dlopen in combination with libselinux and libGL crashes
Public bug reported: I'm not sure I can pinpoint this bug to one package. This is also the reason why I submit it here instead of at the package owner bug tool. The problem occurs for .so files linked with libselinux and libGL. When you dlopen this .so file everything is fine, until the program exits, then libselinux gives a SIGSEGV. If you do not link libGL, or if you swap the order, everything is fine. The .so file itself does not need to do anything with these libraries. I have attached a simple testcase to show this problem. 1) Description:Ubuntu 8.10 Release:8.10 2) libselinux1 2.0.65-2 libgl1-mesa-dev 7.2-1ubuntu2 libc6-dev 2.8~20080505-0ubuntu8 (dlopen) 3) I expect it not to crash 4) ==1979== Invalid read of size 4 ==1979==at 0x462D974: (within /lib/libselinux.so.1) ==1979==by 0x4626B8D: (within /lib/libselinux.so.1) ==1979==by 0x461F1D7: (within /lib/libselinux.so.1) ==1979==by 0x462F34F: (within /lib/libselinux.so.1) ==1979==by 0x400E152: (within /lib/ld-2.8.90.so) ==1979==by 0x4073D68: exit (in /lib/tls/i686/cmov/libc-2.8.90.so) ==1979==by 0x405B68C: (below main) (in /lib/tls/i686/cmov/libc-2.8.90.so) ==1979== Address 0x40 is not stack'd, malloc'd or (recently) free'd ==1979== ==1979== Process terminating with default action of signal 11 (SIGSEGV) ==1979== Access not within mapped region at address 0x40 ==1979==at 0x462D974: (within /lib/libselinux.so.1) ==1979==by 0x4626B8D: (within /lib/libselinux.so.1) ==1979==by 0x461F1D7: (within /lib/libselinux.so.1) ==1979==by 0x462F34F: (within /lib/libselinux.so.1) ==1979==by 0x400E152: (within /lib/ld-2.8.90.so) ==1979==by 0x4073D68: exit (in /lib/tls/i686/cmov/libc-2.8.90.so) ==1979==by 0x405B68C: (below main) (in /lib/tls/i686/cmov/libc-2.8.90.so) ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- dlopen in combination with libselinux and libGL crashes https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/325302 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Any ideas why this might be happening?? I'm really puzzled. TIA. __ There recently was an update of an acpi package. I can't remember the name exactly. I remember that the brightness up and down key worked and also that the power detection (removing or connecting power cable) was working good at the first reboot after I upgraded the acpi package. The problem is that it didn't work 'again' from the second boot or all following reboots. I don't know how this acpi stuff works, but could the following be possible? bootsession 1 = power detection and hotkeys working bootsession 2+x = power detection and hotkeys NOT working 1) acpi reads some settings from a certain settings file when the pc boots (bootsession 1). 2) some other piece of power-hotkey-software (which starts after acpi is started) writes some wrong settings to this settings file. (bootsession 1) 3) Kubuntu starts and acpi works. (bootsession 1) 4) Reboot the pc 5) Acpi reads some WRONG settings from a certain settings file when the pc boots (bootsession 2+x) 6) Some other piece of power-hotkey-software (which starts after acpi is started) writes some wrong settings to this settings file. (bootsession 2+x) 7) Kubuntu starts and acpi doesn't work.(bootsession 2+x) 8) Reboot the pc 9) All following reboots are equal to point 5 to 8. 10) When you reïnstall acpi, it writes the good settings to this settings file. 11) Reboot the pc. We can start again from point 1) acpi reads. -- Can only change brightness on Toshiba Satellite A300 during first boot of new kernel https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/297658 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 265077] Re: local devices visable on each client
The kind people on #ltsp pointed out that this is caused by having all users in the same main group instead of each user its own group. This behaviour is expected, and will not be changed. The solution is to make sure every user has its own group, also on an ldap setup. [Bug 35223] Re: Laptop TFT monitor - brightness level is not saved
I'm on Toshiba L350D-10i Laptop When I install kde-guidance-powermanager and I reboot, brightness can be set with the keys on the keyboard. Second reboot results in the brightness keys being unusable again and brightness can't be set. All following reboots leave the brightness keys unusable. I made a dmesg from the first reboot when it worked and I also made a dmesg from the second reboot when the keys didn't work. Comparing both didn't show any big differences. [Bug 297658] Re: Can't adjust display brightness on Toshiba Satellite A300
I'm on a Toshiba Satellite L350D-10i system-manufacturer: TOSHIBA system-product-name: Satellite L350D system-version: PSLE0E-00E004BT I have a problem that looks a lot like your latest post. Normally I can't switch my screen brightness with the Fn-Hotkeys. When I install KDE-guidance-powermanager and reboot, I can change brightness levels of the LCD screen with Fn-keys. The second time I reboot (and all following reboots) I can't change-brightness levels anymore via Fn-keys. Changing brightness level manually with the slider in guidance powermanager works any time. Sometimes switching brightness also works first reboot after I uninstall guidance-powermanager. Second and all following rebootes disables switching brightness again. I don't know if this is an FN-Hotkey, guidance-powermanager or other problem. I did a dmesg when the brightness worked and also one when i doesn't work, compared both and they were almost exactly the same. I can post both if you want. If you want more information or you me to test something, feel free to ask. [Bug 226397] Re: fan never turns off
Hello, I have the same problem on my Toshiba Satellite L350D-10i laptop. case 1) When I boot the laptop into Kubuntu Intrepid, sometimes the fan speed works good and changes accordingly to the cpu temp. This never causes my system to hang or stall. Even not when I try to compile a vanilla kernel. case 2) When I boot the laptop into Kubuntu Intrepid, sometimes the fan speed runs at a constant low speed, no matter what the cpu temp. is. This causes my system to stall when I do some cpu intensive tasks (like compiling a vanilla kernel), but luckily it allows me to work without problems when I just send some mail or surf the net. case 1 and case 2 happen in a kernel I compiled myself. I enabled some Toshiba options and I also changed some things on the ACPI and CPU settings. Most changes involve power and sensor settings. = kernel 2.6.27.2-met-toshiba-ondersteuning only case 2 happens on kernel 2.6.27-7-generic an 2.6.27-9-generic, which are the ones that came with intrepid. In the attachment i tarred 8 files. All are from the vanilla kernel but 4 are from case 1 (fan-changeable-speed) and 4 are from case 2 (fan-constant-low-speed). case 1 dmesg.log-fan-good-changeable-speed.log lspci-vvnn.log-fan-good-changeable-speed.log uname-a.log-fan-good-changeable-speed.log version.log-fan-good-changeable-speed.log case 2 dmesg.log-fan-low-constant-speed.log lspci-vvnn.log-fan-low-constant-speed.log uname-a.log-fan-low-constant-speed.log version.log-fan-low-constant-speed.log If you want more info or i need to test something for you, I'm happy to do that.
