[Bug 1069031] Re: intel gma3600: X unable to start
This looks promising. I have upgraded from 12.04 to Quantal. Before my configuration was working with no external monitor and now it doesn't work anymore. I noticed that the Xorg.conf file should actually be xorg.conf file. Which maybe means I was not using it before the upgrade. At least I can confirm than before I had a screen on my headless Precise and not I don't (again no monitor/screen is physically attached to it). I don't understand why my modes don't work with my monitor: 1791.645] (II) FBDEV(0): checking modes against framebuffer device... More information available in this thread: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=11220 Now the interlace is added in the latest Eric's drm-intel-next tree. Will you please help to test whether it can work for you? The drm-intel-next tree can be obtained by using the following command: 1. git clone git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/anholt/drm-intel.git 2. git branch -r 3. git checkout -b origin/drm-intel-next Can this be included in the xorg-edgers releases? for example on top of 2:2.11.0+git20100606.b586624d-0ubuntu0sarvatt~lucid Thanks XabiX ** Bug watch added: freedesktop.org Bugzilla #11220 http://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=11220 -- intel i3 and Toshiba TV 1080i not displayed correctly fallback to 1280x720 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/568533 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

here is the log linked to the xorg.conf file attached previously. What I d like understand is if there is any benefit of waiting for some patches already in the pipe, or if this issue is linked to a bug or if it's a configuration problem. Many thanks in advance XabIX ** Attachment added: Xorg.0.log http://launchpadlibrarian.net/45030768/Xorg.0.log -- intel i3 and Toshiba TV 1080i not displayed correctly fallback to 1280x720 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/568533 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 568533] [NEW] intel i3 and Toshiba TV 1080i not displayed correctly fallback to 1280x720
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xorg Hello, I have been trying to make this work but for some reasons I can't. I had to install the latest 2.6.33 kernel in order to solve some issues with the i3 and also to support the TRIM on ssd. The motherboard is a Gigabyte h57 with Clarkdale i3 processor (and on board video). The TV it's an old TV Toshiba 42WLG66 which is max resolution is 1080i. I tried to force the ModeLine with a xorg.conf file but with same results. I know also that this video card is only supported with intel drivers 2.10 and even better with the latest ones 2.11. Currently Ubuntu delivers 2.9 ones. I tried a ppa package several times which broke my all installation with no more LAN (so for a HDTV PC quite annoying:) ) Any idea or issue spotted?
