[Bug 2072551] [NEW] sound dissapear (alsa reload helps temporarily)

2024-07-09 Thread Yegor Volkov
Public bug reported:

Ubuntu 24.04 / pipewire-pulse / no pulseaudio
my sound works temporarily then disssapear
* Tried solutions:
* manually setting the default sink / source
pactl set-default-sink alsa_output.pci-_00_1f.3.analog-stereo
pactl set-default-source
alsa_output.pci-_00_1f.3.analog-stereo.monitor
* manually setting the default card
* creating /home/user/.asoundrc
defaults.pcm.card 1
defaults.pcm.device 0
* creating /etc/asound.conf
defaults.pcm.card 1
defaults.pcm.device 0

*Tried diagnostics:
* pavucontrol
- no muted outputs
- tried different profiles
* alsamixer
- no muted outputs
* all inputs are directed properly to proper sinks
pactl list short sink-inputs
* checked logs
journalctl --user -xe | grep pipewire
journalctl --user -xe | grep pulse
journalctl --user -xe | grep wireplumber
journalctl --user -xe | grep alsa

* Have no effect:
* pipewire restart:
systemctl --user restart pipewire-pulse or
systemctl --user restart pipewire
* reinstall all affected
sudo apt update
sudo apt upgrade
sudo apt reinstall pipewire pipewire-pulse alsa-base alsa-utils
* manually resuming suspended sink:
pactl suspend-sink alsa_output.pci-_00_1f.3.analog-stereo 0

* Have temporary positive effect until sink is suspended again *
sudo alsa force-reload
* ^^ manual resuming sink doesn't work ^^

I confirm this bug. Was happened on 16.10.
I guess it started after I played with "Window spread" options in Unity Tweak
Tool.
So Andrea solution is fixed the problem.

[Bug 1576434] Re: nvidia-361 does not work with Geforce 610M (Asus X55VD) Xenial Xerus

2016-05-24 Thread Yegor
Maybe it is a solution.
I'm installed Ubuntu 16.04 and after that I updated system packages using
apt-get, also I installed nvidia-361 right after packages updated. Result is
black screen after restart. I deleted nvidia driver, and also I found two
kernels installed in my system, I removed old kernel and reinstalled nvidia
drivers and reboot. It works now!

[Bug 675453] [NEW] serial/8250: Increase number of serial ports detected to 32

2010-11-15 Thread Yegor Yefremov
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: linux-generic

CONFIG_SERIAL_8250_RUNTIME_UARTS should be
increased to at least 32 in order to support multi port serial cards out of the
box. This will cover at least the situation, where two 8 port cards are used
simultaneously and there is still some room for internal ports or the other
card.

2008-04-25 Thread yegor
Done.
Two more points:
1. I used Alternate CD to do the upgrade
2. This happened after rkhunter failed to upgrade (see a separate bug). After
that, the upgrade GUI said, it failed and will clean up after itself, after a
reboot everything seems to be ok (except for rkhunter which I had to uninstall
because system complained every time I did something via Synaptic Package
manager).
