[Bug 1917543] [NEW] can't connect to raspberry pi UART TTL
Public bug reported: I'm using the popular PL2303 to convert the USB signal from my computer to UART TTL signal by connecting it to the Raspberry Pi GPIO pins, following the guide here: https://cdn-learn.adafruit.com/downloads/pdf /adafruits-raspberry-pi-lesson-5-using-a-console-cable.pdf I have done this with my mac, and it works fine, but I tried with 18.04 and 20.04, and it doesn't appear to send any output to the serial console, although it does seem to receive it for a while if you have screen listening to /dev/ttyUSB0 while rebooting the pi, but after a few seconds, it stops outputting anything. It does work on Ubuntu 16.04, so I'm not sure exactly what changed there, but maybe that's a starting point. I'm also kind of a noob with this stuff, so if anyone can tell me how to load the kernel module for 16.04 for the UART TTY stuff, that would be great as well. [Bug 1835932] [NEW] goodix touch driver not working
Public bug reported: I'm trying to use a touch screen that needs a goodix touch driver. I can see in the overlays folder that there is a goodix.dtbo file, so I assume the kernel has support for this device. It's quite surprising and disappointing to find out that this bug has not been fixed up to now, although its "importance" is labeled as "High" and "Status" as "Confirmed"... -- after boot into Windows XP, grub menu is not displayed and computer reboot https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/26058 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is a direct subscriber. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Revup, You can check out the following thread that eventually fixed my problem. I left the bug status as new because I know others were having the same problem but was unsure if the cause was the same. Perhaps you can comment on your experience afterword. [Bug 460325] Re: Kate crash desktop if open .nfo files on Karmic
Hi, I have a similar problem. After playing around for a while, I found out that if there is a certain pattern in the file path that kate accesses, plasma-desktop will crash for sure. The pattern I found is "more than three Chinese characters within a pair of square brackets", for example, "/home/zanetu/[一二三四].txt", "/home/zanetu/[一二三四五]/a.txt", etc. I followed the instructions in https://wiki.kubuntu.org/Backtrace and got the txt file in the attachment. Hope it will help. ** Attachment added: "gdb backtrace" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/38697185/gdb-plasma-desktop.txt -- Kate crash desktop if open .nfo files on Karmic https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/460325 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to kdebase-workspace in ubuntu. -- kubuntu-bugs mailing list kubuntu-b...@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/kubuntu-bugs

[Bug 472573] [NEW] 9.10 Install Freezes at "Detecting Filesystems" (HP Workstation XW6200)
Public bug reported: When trying to boot as a live cd or when trying to install Ubuntu 9.10 on my HP Workstation XW6200, the command line goes no farther than: 30%: Detecting filesystems... The screen then begins to blink seven times, then pause for about one second then blink seven more times. It keeps doing this. The processors are 64-bit and I have tried both 32 and 64 bit versions of 9.10. Previously I have been able to install other versions of Ubuntu and Linux on this computer. Before trying to install Ubuntu 9.10, Windows 7 RC was installed to the hard drive (still is) for testing. This sounds similar to this bug, but I was unsure: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/432497 Thanks, Zane ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- 9.10 Install Freezes at "Detecting Filesystems" (HP Workstation XW6200) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/472573 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
