[Bug 971878] Re: [ThinkPad W510, Conexant CX20585, Speaker, Internal] volume slider problem
How about an amplification on/off switch in the sound preferences? Some people want this changed, others don't. Can we find a compromise? Here are the two cases: 1) People who can't get enough volume and have to fiddle in settings *every time* they want to move the volume into the amplified zone (more than 100%) 2) People who are frustrated with the volume slider only useful up to 30%. If the amplification is on by default, it will satisfy those who want the full volume range. Those who are frustrated by the only-30%-useful slider can reach into settings to disable amplification. It'd be a stored setting, so there's no need to fiddle again. This bug was reported on 2010-04-05 and as of January 2012 it's still not fixed. It's still unassigned and not linked to any upstream bugs. At least 60 other people are observing the problem. [Bug 435990] Re: fox fatigue: getting progessively slower until unusable
@drew: If you read the rest of the bug description you'll see this isn't about a crash. So a backtrace is not possible and an strace would run into the gigabytes. The flash/java versions are not particularly relevant because this bug dates from at least release 9.04 so the versions have changes several times without affecting the bug. But for completeness: openjdk-6-jre 6b18-1.8.1-0ubuntu1 flashplugin-installer 10.1.82.76ubuntu0.10.04.2 The extensions in use have already been listed above. For completeness here they are again: flashblock, adblock plus, downloadhelper. This will greatly aid us in tracking down your problem. Good luck with that. I don't think this bug will be understood until we have some way of seeing where the CPU cycles are going. A useful step forward would be to see if the cpu being hogged in one of the extensions or in firefox, and if it's in firefox what part. RE: [Bug 182716] Re: bcm4306, bcm4309, bcm4311, bcm4312 with b43 : Authentication with AP doesn't work.
Hi Larry and colleagues, I wonder if we could have an update on this bug. - Has the problem been pinned down? - Is there a kernel patch accepted or in the pipeline? - Do we know yet in which kernel release the problem will be fixed and can we expect to see it in the repos any time soon? - For which cards will the problem be solved? - Is there a workaround for everyone who has this bug or does it need to be case-by-case? Many thanks, Z. _ Find singles in your area with Match. http://a.ninemsn.com.au/b.aspx?URL=http%3A%2F%2Fmatch%2Enz%2Emsn%2Ecom%2Fchannel%2Findex%2Easpx%3Ftrackingid%3D1043416_r=WL_EMAL_TAG_m=EXT -- bcm4306, bcm4309, bcm4311, bcm4312 with b43 : Authentication with AP doesn't work. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/182716 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
