[Bug 1719122] [NEW] Flash plugin ignores pulse audio
Public bug reported: Ubuntu Studio 16.04 LTS. Firefox 55.0.2, all other software recently updated through Software Updater. Internal soundcard set to 'off' in pulse audio, using Focusrite Scarlett 2i4 USB. Playing audio from a website with flash player. Expected: Audio output through pulse audio and Focusrite, just like any other sound from firefox or other sources do. What happens: Firefox / flash ignores pulse audio and outputs sound directly to internal soundcard. The audio stream does not show in pavucontrol. two possible solutions a) buy new hardware with a shorter vendor name b) forward it to https://github.com/lxde/lxqt/issues - i would prefer b. [Bug 1574120] Re: Notebook doesn't suspend when lid is closed after update to 16.04
Ubuntu Studio 16.04 on Toshiba Satellite p850 Regardless of settings in power manager or logind.conf, machine will not suspend on lid close. It will turn off the screen, though. Suspend from menu, command or power button works. Lid state is reported correct (cat /proc/acpi/button/lid/LID0/state) However, as described here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/acpid/+bug/1037860 lid close will suspend if I remove the power cable. [Bug 1690491] Re: Merge 0.11.1-2 from Debian Sid
There is nothing wrong with the lxqt-common dependency. In fact no autostart and some other things will run without and the common answer to misc problems with LXQt and Ubuntu is: Just install lxqt-common. Period. The only thing that is wrong with lxqt-common: it exists. Maybe it was not the best of all upstream ideas to create the commons, but lxqt- common was and is needed to some extend until 0.12. [Bug 1193110] [NEW] Lenovo laptop reporting ata1.00: head unload failed!
Public bug reported: Reference is made to Bug #772273 previously reported (from Ubunti 11.04). I am using a Lenovo laptop with a SSD installed (specifically OCZ Vertex III, but this is not really interesting, I believe). dmesg is full of messages saying ata1.00: head unload failed!, which seems to be caused by hdapsd is triggered by Lenovo's gravitational sensor, hence trying to park the disk's head, which is obviously failing when the laptop disk(s) is/are SSD(s), and there is no mechanical part (head to unload). The easiest way to recreate the warning is to switch into a non- graphical TTY (e.g. CTRL+ALT+F1) and just shake the laptop a little. Even without logging in/starting a session in the tty console, the warning will be shown on screen. This is not really a big problem other than logs filling up with warnings, and it's fixed by disabling/uninstalling hdapsd ( sudo apt-get remove --purge hdapsd ). Hence, I'm not sure whether it should really be reported as a bug. However, upgrading Ubuntu to a new release actually re-installs hdapsd automatically (re-invoking the logged warning messages), and I believe that in an ideal world, the system would detect automatically that the disk(s) is (are) SSD(s), hence only activating hdapsd in the case that disk(s) is(are) really mechanical and in need of any head unload. [Bug 772273] Re: Kernel spits ata3.00: head unload failed! messages
Reopening (confirming) this bug, as still present in Ubuntu 13.04; Even though uninstalling hdapsd is indeed a working fix (or work-around), I believe the kernel (or installer/automatic sw updater) should ultimately detect that the HD installed is an SSD, and thereby skip the install/enablement of hdapsd. It might be that this shouldn't be reported as a bug in the first place, but rather as a feature request/suggested improvement. This is really not for me to say, so please feel free to convert accept my apologies for reopening! [Bug 1167826] Re: Simple scan produces wrong size documents
OK. Please disregard issues 1 and 3 and dedicate this report to issue 2: crop to page size does not produce expected results. [Bug 1167826] [NEW] Simple scan produces wrong size documents
Public bug reported: This is my first bug report, hope it will be helpful. There are several similar reports, most of which are classified as duplicates of https://bugs.launchpad.net/simple-scan/+bug/550856 I'm reporting this as new because the above mentioned report is treated as a feature request (wishlist), maybe the description wasn't precise enough. Running Simple Scan 3.6.0 on Ubuntu Studio 12.10, three issues occur: 1. Setting page size in preferences doesn't affect the size of a scanned document. Regardless of this setting scanning and saving produces a document 216 x 297 mm 2. crop does not produce expected results. Simple Scan saves documents cropped to A4 as 211 x 297 mm 3. Document metadata states that the document was created on Jan 1st, 1970. Attached is a screenshot of evince reading file properties. [Bug 486133] Re: What does Do selected tasks mean?
Yes, it's completely unclear what the checkboxes and the Do selected tasks button actually do. Not only that, but after unchecking a checkbox (and thus authenticating to Remove the package), the next time Computer Janitor is loaded those packages aren't in the list any more, even though (according to Synaptic) they are actually still installed. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/486133 Title: What does Do selected tasks mean? [Bug 784919] Re: Muse can't connect to jack (error message)
The problem i think, is that the muse in Studio (natty) is compiled without jack support (e.g. ldd /usr/bin/muse ... and see) solved this, recompiled muse, but first have to install jackd1, after all its possible to reinstall jackd2, it should work. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/784919 Title: Muse can't connect to jack (error message) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/muse/+bug/784919/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 765136] Re: [natty] X often crashes since upgrade to natty
There appears to be various reasons for X/GDM crashing. I got some signal 3s in the gdm logs, while others (in other bugs got crashes with signal 11). The old bug described in https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gdm/+bug/396226 was consistent with the behaviour I saw: logged out while typing, and if I then switched to tty1 (with Crtl-Alt-F1) it showed some garbled text. Disabling splash appears to have fixed it - did it yesterday, and no forced logouts today. For a discussion of the actual culprit, read the bug and comments. Regarding my setup: I have two boxed upgraded to 11.04, and one fresh install. Only one of the updated boxes had the forced logout behaviour. All of the boxed had full disk encryption, but the one with problems also had an issue regarding the splash screen after entering passphrase: I had to jump out of the the splash screen, by pressing Esc(ape) at the latest right after entering the passphrase, otherwise the splash screen would lock up and I would have to reboot. Today, I could boot without any security by obscurity keypress magic (albeit text only boot) and I have not been kicked out of this session. I have done some other tweeks as well, but chaning between Ubuntu Classic and Unity made no difference. I don't know what I've done to trigger #396226, but I'm happy now, knowing that it was a software issue and not hardware as I suspected. Others might shed some light on why this issue reappearing on 11.04 (for some configurations). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/765136 Title: [natty] X often crashes since upgrade to natty To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg-server/+bug/765136/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 351186] Re: [M76] [ubuntu 9.04] [ubuntu 9.10] [ubuntu 10.04] slow unminimizing with ati card and desktop effects enabled
This Bug was still present in Lucid in 2011-03. ;) But this is not my business anymore. Since 2011-04 i use debian with the same old bug. The bug is still present in an uptodate X. The only thing about is - the lag is smaller, but never gone. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/351186 Title: [M76] [ubuntu 9.04] [ubuntu 9.10] [ubuntu 10.04] slow unminimizing with ati card and desktop effects enabled To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/fglrx-installer/+bug/351186/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 762918] Re: Natty Screensaver freezes system after some period of inactivity
I am having this problem too and I am running Natty 32bit on a desktop (Lenovo ThinkCentre 8810-AA5) with an Intel onboard graphics card (00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation 82Q963/Q965 Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 02)).
