[Bug 2009825] Re: [snap] thunderbird cannot sign messages with external gnupg

2024-06-02 Thread alt
I'm also stuck with Ubuntu 24.04 Thunderbird from snap.
Wish it's solved soon.

I tried other installing methods (binary and flatpak) but neither succeeded.
Should I go to bugzilla.mozilla.org? Or anyone experience the same? I can't
find.

[Bug 1330259] [NEW] Sony 72" Display Causing Crash on Re-awake

2014-06-15 Thread Adam Alt
Public bug reported:

I have hooked up my computer to two monitors. I have a ASUS graphics
card with an HDMI and a DVI port. I have a DVI to HDMI adapter, so I
have hooked that up to two Samsung 22" monitors through the HDMI inputs.
This works fine.

But whenever I hook up the second monitor to my Sony 72" TV to watch
movies on through the HDMI input, then we have issues. I have my Power
settings to go to sleep after 30 minutes. So we'll be watching a movie
on the tv streamed through a browser, and then after 30 minutes the
computer will go to sleep. This is ok, but when I try to wake up the
computer it seems frozen, and then shows a bunch of messages I can't
understand on a black screen.

[Bug 1330255] [NEW] Unable to Detect USB Mouse and Keyboard

2014-06-15 Thread Adam Alt
Public bug reported:

When I boot into ubuntu 14.04 LTS, most of the time it does not even
recognize the USB mouse and keyboard. It only recognizes them about
one-third of the time, and it will have a message that pops up that says

Connected:
Wired Connection 1

That's when I know it recognized the mouse and keyboard. Otherwise I
don't see any message and nothing works. I have to do a hard shutdown
(i.e. hold the power button down until the computer turns off) because
I cannot restart the computer with the keyboard or the mouse.

Hi,

Traceback seems pretty obvious about the issue - super()... call is
wrong, should be super(Account, self)...

See patch attached for a fix.

[Bug 903165] [NEW] hover description distorted

2011-12-12 Thread Ctr Alt Med
Public bug reported:

When I place the cursor over any item that displays a hover description,
the description is distorted. What I can see of the descriptor is the
type slanted at 45 degrees. Not all of the text is visible in the space
allocated to the descriptor.

I'm using Ubuntu 11.10 on an HP Pavilion dv6. The graphics card is AMD
Radeon 6620G and I'm using the fglrx driver (because the open source
drivers would not work). Catalyst 11.9.

On very rare occasions, the hover descriptor will display normally.

[Bug 334466] Re: totem crash in DVD playback in Jaunty

2009-05-07 Thread alt-os
Seems to be a compatibility problem with the gstreamer0.10-fluendo-
mpegdemux: removing the gstreamer-0.10-plugins-bad package and
resinstalling it back (this time allowing the system to remove the
conflicting packag) have solved the problem here.

A lack of dependencies check in upgrade time would explain why the
problem occurs just on updated systems (8.10 -> 9.04) and not on new
installed 9.04 systems.

[Bug 335297] Re: [jaunty] Keyboard and Mouse Frozen on Login Screen

2009-03-11 Thread Xavier ALT (AJM)
Hi there,

Concerning the ps/2 mouse which get recognized as Elantech touchpad,
it's apparently a know kernel issue, and only affect some logitech
mouse.

http://git.kernel.org/?p=linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux-2.6.git;a=commitdiff;h=9ab7b25e6a30d2292bd6d4913b71c918ee1e21b4

There're already a bug on LP for this specific issue #318722, so should
be better to comment on that bug for logitech / elantech missdetection.

Meanwhile, my USB still mouse didn't work.

[Bug 250835] Re: pngnq crashed with SIGSEGV in strlen()

2008-07-22 Thread Xavier ALT
I have the same problem, pngnq crash on version check ([EMAIL PROTECTED], svn
rev 9242, hardy amd64).

I've tried with the fix proposed on the related debian bugs
(http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=491860), it fix the
problem for me.

after rebuilding the package (with the fix), pngnq -V shows:

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ pngnq -V
pngnq 0.5
Compiled with libpng 1.2.15beta5; using libpng 1.2.15beta5.
Compiled with zlib 1.2.3.3; using zlib 1.2.3.3.

[Bug 133818] Re: [GUTSY] Third-party drivers (like Turboprint) do not work due to AppArmor

2007-09-19 Thread Xavier ALT
Hi,

Printing with Canon binary driver doesn't work with current profile
(gutsy, cupsys-1.3.0-4ubuntu4).

Sep 19 09:33:15 anne kernel: [66232.470179] audit(1190187195.358:7):
operation="inode_permission" requested_mask="x" denied_mask="x"
name="/usr/local/bin/lgmonmp160" pid=28304 profile="/usr/sbin/cupsd

In fact, that's the backend (/usr/lib/cups/backend/cnij_usb) which launch the
/usr/local/bin/lgmonmp160 exec.
If it can be useful, i make a specific profile to make this backend work, see
the attachment.

** Attachment added: "apparmor profile for cnij_usb backend"
