[Bug 1762222] Re: will not mount or read card in camera

2018-10-19 Thread anarcat
for the record, i see the same behavior in debian with 0.9.9 and 0.9.12.
By default, RPD does not mount the sdcard automatically, i need to start
Thunar or some file manager and click on the device to have it mounted.
then RPD can see it and operate normally. i always thought that feature
was just not implemented.

[Bug 1632072] [NEW] circular build dependency between ubuntu-release-upgrader and update-manager

2016-10-10 Thread anarcat
Public bug reported:

trying to build ubuntu-release-upgrader from scratch on another debian
platform gives an impossible build dependency:

Source: ubuntu-release-upgrader
Section: admin
Priority: optional
Maintainer: Ubuntu Developers
Build-Depends: debhelper (>= 9),
   python3-all,
   python3-distutils-extra,
   python3-apt (>= 0.8.5~),
   lsb-release,
   python3-update-manager,
   apt-clone (>= 0.2.3~ubuntu2)

Source: update-manager
[...]
Package: python3-update-manager
Architecture: all
Section: python
Replaces: update-manager-core (<< 1:0.163)
Breaks: update-manager-core (<< 1:0.163)
Depends: ${python3:Depends},
 ${misc:Depends},
 python3-apt (>= 0.8.5~),
 python3-distupgrade,
 python3-launchpadlib,
 lsb-release

python3-distupgrade is a binary package of ... ubuntu-release-upgrader!
so to build ubuntu-release-upgrader, one needs python3-update-manager,
which cannot be installed because it depends on the python3-distupgrade
binary package, provided by the ubuntu-release-upgrader source package..

it seems to me the DistUpgrade library could be moved to python3-update-
manager or python3-apt, to resolve this loop.

[Bug 1594222] Re: known ssld crash

2016-08-17 Thread anarcat
i have packaged 3.5.2 in debian sid, and it should hit testing/backports
soon. i had problems running 3.5.0 in production, as ssld would indeed
crash. i filed this issue upstream to discuss the bug and they promptly
fixed it:

https://github.com/charybdis-ircd/charybdis/issues/210

the patch is in the debian package and should be shipped with 3.5.3
soonish.

is this the same issue you have seen?

is 3.4 vulnerable to the issue you are describing? i haven't suffered
from the problems you described in the wild on the 3.4 branch...

2016-08-17 Thread anarcat
there is no form to fill, so I can't fill the form they ask me to. i
don't know how that thing works at all, so maybe i'm doing something
wrong. when i try to visit the link you pasted, it asks me for my openid
login, which i have, but then i get redirected to
https://errors.ubuntu.com/?login-failed=true - even though I am actually
logged in.

copying the stacktrace or haveing *some* more information would indeed
be very useful.

also note that debian has a new version packaged (3.5.2) which should
hit backports soon.

sorry for the delay in my response, but I wasn't subscribed to the bug

[Bug 1530219] drush will be removed from Debian

2016-05-08 Thread anarcat
Hi,

In #823767, I have requested from the FTP-masters that Drush be removed
from Debian. In the ~9 months since it was orphaned, no one stepped up
to start maintaining the Drush package, let alone update it to a current
version. There was some movement on the Ubuntu side of things (also in
CC), but it seems it didn't end up going anywhere.

It seems clear to me no one is available to do that task and having an
outdated version of Drush in Debian is hurting both projects for no good
reason. At least that is the constant feedback I receive, both privately
and through the above bug reports.

So unless someone steps up *now* to tell the FTP-masters to stop, it
will be removed as soon as they take a look at bug #823767.

Thanks for your attention, and sorry for the wide {B,}CC.

A.

[Bug 919506] Re: not lintian clean

2016-02-16 Thread anarcat
This is a known issue in the package, and documented in the TODO. The
build needs hardening flags, which would solve a ton of those issues,
and needs patches upstream:

https://github.com/charybdis-ircd/charybdis/issues/27

Also, manpages need to be written and so on.

lintian is a little cleaner on the debian side:
https://lintian.debian.org/maintainer/anar...@debian.org.html#charybdis

patches obviously welcome.

[Bug 1234210] [NEW] Sync monkeysign 1.1 (universe) from Debian sid (main)

2013-10-02 Thread anarcat
Public bug reported:

Please sync monkeysign 1.1 (universe) from Debian sid (main)

The 0.9 release has some serious security issues (--debug prints out
GPG private keys!) and the 1.1 release ships important bugfixes. It
would be a shame if the only monkeysign package in saucy would be 0.9
- might as well remove it from saucy if this sync request is refused.

Changelog entries since current saucy version 0.9:

monkeysign (1.1) unstable; urgency=low

  [Antoine Beaupré]
  * improved SMTP support:
* SMTP username and passwords can be passed as commandline arguments
* SMTP password is prompted if not specified
* use STARTTLS if available
* enable SMTP debugging only debugging is enabled
  * show the unencrypted email with --no-mail (Closes: #720049)
  * warn when gpg-agent is not running or failing (Closes: #723052)
  * set GPG_TTY if it is missing (Closes: #719908)
  * bail out on already signed keys (Closes: #720055)
  * mention monkeyscan in the package description so it can be found more
easily
  * fix python-pkg-resources dependency
  * don't show backtrace on control-c
  * add missing files to .gitignore (Closes: #724007)
  * ship with a neat little slideshow to make presentations

  [Philip Jägenstedt]
  * fix some typos (Closes: #722964)
  * add --cert-level option (Closes: #722740)

monkeysign (1.0) unstable; urgency=low

  * stop copying secrets to the temporary keyring
  * make sure we use the right signing key when specified
  * signatures on multiple UIDs now get properly sent separately
(Closes: #719241)
  * this includes deluid support on the gpg library
  * significantly refactor email creation
  * improve unit tests on commandline scripts, invalid (revoked) keys and
timeout handling
  * provide manpages (Closes: #716674)
  * avoid showing binary garbage on export when debugging
  * properly fail if password confirmation fails
  * user interfaces now translatable
  * accept space-separated key fingerprints
  * fix single UID key signing
  * proper formatting of UIDs with comments (removed) and spaces (wrapped)
for emails

 While dpkg lists smokemail in /etc/smokeping/smokemail `ls`doesn’t shows that

Well, I don't understand how this is possible - the file exists here and
I believe it is in the package too.

Please try the latest package version (2.8).

smokemail exists here. i am not running Ubuntu so I cannot reproduce
this directly, but in Debian's 2.6.8-1 package, smokemail is present:

the 4.x branch doesn't have such autocomplete mechanism. So until we get

[Bug 862771] Re: drush.php crashed with SIGSEGV in malloc()

2011-09-29 Thread anarcat
I think the problem lies more within the PHP sqlite extension, if not
sqlite itself - no PHP script should be able to crash the PHP
interpreter like this.

We can see in the backtrace that Drush is attempting a totally
legitimate SQL request - this should be failing:

#0  0x7f2a93127e13 in ?? () from /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libc.so.6

IN (:cids_0), sql_len=89, stmt=optimized out, driver_options=optimized
out) at /var/opt/php-5.2.17/ext/pdo_sqlite/sqlite_driver.c:175
[...]

Also - the backtrace seems weird to me, as it points to PHP 5.2.17
source code while the dependencies file you have included above says you
are running 5.3.6 - can you explain this discrepency?

and unsupported upstream. It should also be removed from Ubuntu. I will

[Bug 755169] Re: backport drush into lucid LTS (or maverick?) once in natty

2011-04-25 Thread anarcat
I have reviewed the requirements and I do not believe the drush backport
will cause any problem to other packages, being a leaf package (for
now). Drush 4.4 is also much more featureful and has bugfixes that are
not present in the 3.3 package, which maybe could warrant a SRU instead,
but those are fairly minor bugs...

[Bug 755172] [NEW] FFe: Sync drush 4.4-1 (universe) from Debian unstable (main)

2011-04-08 Thread anarcat
Public bug reported:

Please sync drush 4.4-1 (universe) from Debian unstable (main)

Explanation of FeatureFreeze exception:
Drush 3.3 is crudely outdated (6 months+) and has two outstanding bugs
in the queue that are resolved in Debian. It is a leaf package with
currently no other dependencies that is well known to be stable.

Changelog entries since current natty version 3.3-1:

drush (4.4-1) unstable; urgency=low

  * New upstream minor release to fix .info file.

 -- Antoine Beaupré anar...@koumbit.org  Mon, 14 Mar 2011 19:22:40

drush (4.3-1) unstable; urgency=low

  * New upstream release, see http://drupal.org/node/1091572
  * Changed git repos to be the upstream repos, which have accepted that
the Debian branch live upstream. Upstream (msonnabaum) has also
manifested interest in maintaining the Debian/Ubuntu packages.

 -- Antoine Beaupré anar...@koumbit.org  Mon, 14 Mar 2011 17:11:53
-0400

drush (4.2-1) unstable; urgency=low

  * New upstream release
  * Updated manpage (Closes: #595908)
  * Forgot to mention that the upstream release fixed the vget bug
(Closes: #595772)

 -- Antoine Beaupré anar...@koumbit.org  Thu, 20 Jan 2011 22:34:57
-0500

drush (4.1-1) unstable; urgency=low

  * New upstream release (Closes: #609362)
This branch (4.x) is likely to live only in sid considering upstream
is already considering a 5.x release. In general, the release cycle of
Debian and Drush are incompatible, the latter being roughly every 6
months. I will try to keep sid (and therefore testing) up to date with
the upstream stable and people will be free to use 3.3 (in squeeze or
lenny-backports) or whatever the latest stable upstream is (in sid or
testing).

  * standards upgrade to 3.9.1 - no change
  * update table.inc to follow upstream

Re: [Bug 124822] Re: packet loss on rtl8180l

2008-11-21 Thread anarcat
So this bug has been fixed... in a way, in the latest release (8.10
ibex). What's happening there is that the module has been simply removed
from the distribution, hereby implementing *complete* and systematic
packet loss on the interface. :P

I had to revert to an older installed kernel to keep the wifi running. I
haven't retested the issue with that older kernel however.

Re: [Bug 124822] Re: packet loss on rtl8180l

2008-07-15 Thread anarcat
As far as I know, there are still issues with this driver, even on 8.04.
I will check for this exact symptom but there's at least one that
remains that I'm aware of: when anything bigger than a ACK is uploaded
on the wifi card, the machine freezes completely.

I will try to update this bug with the details.

[Bug 124822] packet loss on rtl8180l

2007-07-08 Thread anarcat
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: linux-image-2.6.17-11-generic

I have a Realtek RTL8180L internal wifi card here (at least that's what
lspci tells me). I have quite regular packet loss on the device (which
don't occur on the wired interface). Say around 4-5 seconds of packet
loss every minute. Rather strange phenomenon, i can't explain it without
a kernel bug, so I thought important of notifying you guys.

This is the complete lspci:

02:02.0 Ethernet controller: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. RTL8180L
802.11b MAC (rev 20)

...which is rather odd because thinkwiki.org says this Thinkpad T40
shoudl have either an IBM (using the Atheros driver) Intel (ipw2100)
or Cisco chipset (airo).

and dmesg:

I tried the kernel from edgy-proposed (-50) and from gutsy (2.6.22, not
booting at all :). Am capable of compiling a custom kernel and applying
patches for debugging purposes.
