Christopher M. Penalver, sorry I am late, but I've got a lot to do in the last few weeks. I'm running Ubuntu 12.04 and it is daily updated ( it is really a great releas!!!). But the bug still happens! After a few seconds Ubuntu crash. I did run the command apport-collect -p linux 656745 But I did it with power ac-adapter. I hope Icould help. I'm sorry, but I was a little bit to fast. After I attached Linux Mint Julia to wlan and USB-Memory, it crashed after the Filetransfer began immediately also. But I found finally a workaround, which I have tested the last 2 days: I deinstalled the pm-utils 1.4 with synaptic. Download the package pm- utils 1.3.0-1ubuntu1_all_deb from http://packages.ubuntu.com/de/lucid/all/pm-utils/download; and installed it. Now it workes fine and all functions remain in the best way. In my opinion the error lies in the current pm-utils package. But I am only a completely normal user and not a programmer! Would anybody test it too and write a coment? Hello Vostro 3700 - Users and specially Christian, It's really unpossible to work with this bug. After a long search I have found a workaround that works at least for me. But attention: You are loosing the suspend and hybernate-functions. Install the package laptop-mode-tools. The packages acpi-support and pm-utils will be removed. Then, with using sudo in the /etc/default/acpi-support write or copy the following lines at the end: # Switch to laptop-mode on battery power - off by default as it causes odd # Hangs on some machines ENABLE_LAPTOP_MODE = true Then change the Laptop-Mode on Battery with sudo in the /etc/laptop-mode/laptop-mode.conf to 1 like here: ENABLE_LAPTOP_MODE_ON_BATTERY = 1 Restart the computer and it should work.
