Feb 08 2013 ... still the same problem.

I got the feeling that the devs just don't care about this problem.

Ok, this might solve the problem:

After I tried to start the installer from the test-run several time, I
took a look at the syslog (just like mentioned in the upper posts here).
We see, that the partman made the last logs.

So I killed the partman process (don't ask me which one of them, but it
was none of the services).

After that I restarted the installer and it worked ... now I'm writing
these lines on my freshly installed 13.04.

[Bug 997963] [NEW] windows of a specific size mess up their positions or disappear at all when switching between apps on different desktop-areas (desktop 1, 2, 3, 4)

2012-05-11 Thread atarixle
Public bug reported:

Ok,

whenever I switch to an app thats window(s) appear on another desktop,
those window(s) mess up: sometimes they appear on the current desktop,
sometimes they disappear outside the reachable desktop-area (e.g. right
to the most right desktop).

This affects large windows, whichs borders may (almost) hit the
top/bottom/left/right of the screen of the desktop they usually appear
on. I made a short video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7jipviGsIng
(watch without sound and don't read the description, if you don't wanna
hear, how angry this made me).

This already has been a problem in 11.10, so I wonder why it is still in 12.04
LTS(!).
And don't fix this in 12.10 only, don't make 12.10 the better 12.04 as you made
10.10 the better 10.04.

 Importance: Undecided
 Status: New

You could try to install a german system (either time-zone, or language,
or both).

So, Version 0.3.90-0ub

[Bug 947164] [NEW] time applet doesn't show NYC timezone, time is always UTC if I pick New York, USA

2012-03-05 Thread atarixle
Public bug reported:

I'm living in germany, so I use to pick CET time when installing Ubuntu
(this may be helpful to reproduce that bug).

When I want to pick the New York Time Zone in the Clock Indicator, I
always get the UTC time, either I pick New York City from the list.

Even switching to florida time doesn't work, I still get UTC instead of
West Coast Time.

This bug has been in Ubuntu 11.10 too, now in 12.04 LTS PRECISE it is
still there!

[Bug 822141] Re: Cannot receive or send files via bluetooth

2011-10-16 Thread atarixle
I got the same problem still in the Ubuntu Final(!).

I can:
-pair my Nokia 6230 with my Ubuntu Laptop
-I can mount the Nokia into Nautilus
-Send files from Ubuntu to the Nokia

I cannot:
-send files directly from the Nokia to Ubuntu (because Ubuntu is invisible to
the Nokia, althru Ubuntu is visible for my iPod touch)
-Browse files from the Nokia in Nautilus (even if it's mounted, it breaks up
when clicking onto my Phone in the sidebar, and it disconnects and unmounts
suddenly)

[Bug 788960] Re: Invisible windows prevent mouse from interacting with any application or dialog window

2011-07-03 Thread atarixle
I'd say, don't ask any longer for the video card ... this problem
appears on my installed version of 11.04 (AMD255, Nvidia GTX460,
GNOME2), as well as on the Live-CD on my moms Intel Core 2 Duo with an
ATI card (Unity).

The only things, both system had in common was the 1920x1080 resolution,
and the desktop-effects activated.
