[Bug 2074089] [NEW] High CPU from gnome-shell when moving mouse

2024-07-25 Thread Mike B
Public bug reported:

Mouse starts stuttering/lagging. If I run `top` in the terminal, I can
see gnome-shell spike to 90%+ CPU usage when I move my mouse. If I stop
moving mouse, it will settle back down. Only 1 gnome-shell extension
installed (Unite), which I tried disabling, but stuttering didn't
change.

Rebooting seems to resolve the mouse stuttering for a while. Problems
seems to arise when uptime is around 7-10 days.

I was able to narrow the issue down to a bibtex entry with over 1000 co-authors:

I am using the imsart-nameyear bibtex style from here

Running bibtex is slow, but does finish.

[Bug 2069792] [NEW] lyx segfaults upon opening a .lyx file

2024-06-18 Thread J B
Public bug reported:

Running:
$ lyx mlfriendsonly2.lyx
gives a segfault. Other lyx files work fine, and this file used to work fine
last year.

1) $ lsb_release -rd
No LSB modules are available.
Description:Ubuntu 24.04 LTS
Release:24.04

2) $ apt-cache policy lyx
lyx:
  Installed: 2.4.0~RC3-1build4
  Candidate: 2.4.0~RC3-1build4
  Version table:
 *** 2.4.0~RC3-1build4 500
500 http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu noble/universe amd64 Packages
100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

3) the GUI to open
4) segfault

I enabled apport following the instructions (enabled=1, commenting out
problem_types line, but apport does not pop up). So I am using valgrind and gdb
and attaching them below.

Strangely this crash also caused wayland to crash, before I uninstalled snapd.

[Bug 2067816] [NEW] Delayed audio start/stop after Ubuntu 24.04 upgrade, slow pipewire

2024-06-01 Thread J B
Public bug reported:

Anytime I either

* make any bell noise in my gnome terminal, or
* mute/unmute/change volume in gnome, or
* start, pause or continue a video on firefox

I get
1) the quiet but audible pop that you hear when audio is unmuted
2) **a ~5 second (!) delay**
3) the sound playing

When stopping the sound, the same happens in reverse order, with a
shorter delay.

I suspect that the audio system (pipewire) is opening and closing an
interface, and has perhaps some driver issues? How can I debug this
annoying delay?

journalctl shows during such an event:

[Bug 2066347] [NEW] Thunderbird Snap cannot access profile outside home after 24.04 upgrade

2024-05-22 Thread J B
Public bug reported:

After upgrading yesterday to 24.04, thunderbird would not open. I got
the error "Thunderbird is already running, but not responding". In the
terminal, it looks like this:

$ thunderbird
Gtk-Message: 10:04:38.068: Not loading module "atk-bridge": The functionality
is provided by GTK natively. Please try to not load it.

thunderbird/url-classifier-skip-urls getLastModified() IndexedDB:   The
operation failed for reasons unrelated to the database itself and not covered
by any other error code.", "resource://services-settings/IDBHelpers.jsm", 18))

The cause of this is that in ~/.thunderbird/profiles.ini I list a
profile path that is outside /home in a data directory that sees regular
back ups.

thunderbird is in snap now, and snaps are hardcoded
(https://askubuntu.com/questions/1033344/how-to-give-snaps-access-to-
somedir) to permit no data access beyond /home.

This is the reason it could not start any more.

A possible way forward is to make the data access of snaps configurable.

In the meanwhile, I uninstalled the snap-thunderbird and installed
deb-thunderbird following
https://ubuntuhandbook.org/index.php/2024/03/install-thunderbird-deb-ubuntu-2404/

[Bug 2061929] Re: Python docker package does not import, crashes due to urllib3 upgrade

2024-05-06 Thread Jonas L. B.
Looks like the patch above was included in the release build, but it is
insufficient to make the package work - it still trivially crashes when
creating a docker client. E.g. `import docker; docker.from_env()`
crashes due to the urllib3 incompatibility.

Wouldn't it be better to just update to the latest version instead of
trying to cherry-pick patches? v5 is >2 years old. Latest version is
7.0.0. I guess it should have been done before 24.04 was released but
since the package is more or less full broken anyway, maybe it'd be okay
to update it?

[Bug 2061964] Re: Installation of ubuntu 24.04 raid array not detected

2024-05-04 Thread B. Martin
Confirming report. I can select any physical device partitions to format
and mount, but /dev/md* devices are not listed. The "Next" button is
grayed out, the upper left X button cancels the installation, and the
only remaining option is "Back" to select a different kind of
installation. My physical drives are already partitioned as I want, the
MD devices are already created, assembled, and in sync.

[Bug 2026194] Re: When clicking on some maximized or tiled windows, focus on roughly the lower quarter falls to the window behind

2024-05-03 Thread Mikhail B
I'm experiencing the same issue.

Ubuntu 24.04, mutter 46.0-1ubuntu9, gnome-shell 46.0.
Affected programs - Alacritty, Terminator, Konsole (from snap).
Not affected - VS Code, gnome-calculator, vivaldi.

The workaround "restore-interact-maximize" doesn't work for me,
unfortunately.

[Bug 2061205] [NEW] Unrecognized flash drive and REQUEST

2024-04-12 Thread Len B
Public bug reported:

My operating system is Ubuntu Studio using Ubuntu 23.10. The large USB
flash drive I have recently purchased is not recognized by Ubuntu.
Using the command line tools dmesg and smartctl I have found that the
issue is that Ubuntu does not recognize the flash drive's bridge. Using
the same hardware (ie dual-boot laptop), Windows easily recognized it.
Partitioning, formatting and copying a file to the flash drive using
Windows 10 did not make the flash drive recognizable to Ubuntu. Please
add the USB bridge's chipset from the following vendor and product(s) to
Ubuntu so these flash drives can be recogznized.

Vendor: Integrated Technology Express, Inc
Product: Chipsbank CBM2199 Flash Drive (aka UDisk)

Thanks!

[Bug 2056493] [NEW] Setting for middle mouse button click to paste in dconf does not appear to be read by mutter, and/or not applied to libinput in XWayland

2024-03-07 Thread Micah B. Haber
Public bug reported:

Ubuntu 23.10

Using dconf-editor, I have verified that "gtk-enable-primary-paste" in
org/gnome/desktop/interface is off. According to
https://wayland.freedesktop.org/libinput/doc/1.11.3/faq.html, "in a
GNOME stack, the gnome-control-center modifies dconf entries. These
changes are read by mutter and applied to libinput." As the middle mouse
button click to paste setting may be disabled in Xorg, turning "gtk-
enable-primary-paste" to "off" in the dconf-editor GUI, or to "false" in
the CLI should be global, and apply to XWayland. But it does not apply
to XWayland.

[Bug 1973482] [NEW] kernel 4.15.0.177 break everything on Dell XPS 15 9570

2022-05-15 Thread B Este
Public bug reported:

There are many issues including:

- wireless card DISBLED / UNCLAIMED
- no sound output device listed
- strange electrical noise in the speakers when the cpu is under load
- mounting /boot/efi hangs for 1m30
- various services not starting (snap, etc)

Rolling back to 4.15.0.176 fixes all the issues.

Can you let me know which logs I could provide to help?

Thank you

2022-05-05 Thread Norbert B.
Hello Mauricio,

thank you for picking up the problem.
I confirm your understanding and attach setup steps and logs.

I can give you more details if needed - just ask me.
I'm in office from Monday to Thursday.

[Bug 1959581] Re: OCFS2 intermittently not mountable on a second Node in Ubuntu 20.04.3 LTS

2022-05-05 Thread Norbert B.
I hope, that this will work.

What irritates me:
I did tests with deactivated quotas on system and disk, but the problem
remained.
We don't have the problem with Oracle Linux (RHEL), which uses regular kernels
too, afaik.

[Bug 1635463] Re: pip freeze includes "pkg-resources==0.0.0"

2022-05-04 Thread B AG
I notice earlier in this issue, people were mentioning "pkg-
resources==0.0.0", whereas I'm seeing "pkg_resources==0.0.0". That's
interesting.

Also, this "pkg_resources==0.0.0" seems to show up specifically when
installing a *different version* of pip -- not necessarily the *latest*
version. Here we see that it doesn't show up when installing new
versions of setuptools or wheel, but it does show up when installing an
old version of pip:

$ python3 -m venv temp_env && . temp_env/bin/activate
(temp_env) $ pip install -U setuptools
Collecting setuptools

Uninstalling pip-20.0.2:
  Successfully uninstalled pip-20.0.2

(temp_env) $ pip freeze
pkg-resources==0.0.0
You are using pip version 9.0.3, however version 22.0.4 is available.
You should consider upgrading via the 'pip install --upgrade pip' command.

^ Only the very last `pip freeze` outputs "pkg-resources==0.0.0".
Also, uninstalling pkg_resources seems to permanently fix the issue:

$ pip install -U pip
Collecting pip
  Using cached pip-22.0.4-py3-none-any.whl (2.1 MB)
Installing collected packages: pip
  Attempting uninstall: pip

Installing collected packages: pip
  Attempting uninstall: pip

Uninstalling pip-22.0.4:
  Successfully uninstalled pip-22.0.4
Successfully installed pip-20.3.4
(temp_env) $ pip freeze
(temp_env) $ pip install -U pip

Found existing installation: pip 20.3.4
Uninstalling pip-20.3.4:
  Successfully uninstalled pip-20.3.4

^ So, after uninstalling pkg_resources, an installation of a different version
of pip no longer causes "pkg_resources==0.0.0" to appear.

[Bug 1635463] Re: pip freeze includes "pkg-resources==0.0.0"

2022-05-04 Thread B AG
This is an issue for me as well, on Pop_OS.
I created a virtualenv from the python3 I got from `apt install python3`, using
`-m venv`.
Inside that virtualenv, `pip freeze` does not show `pkg_resources==0.0.0` until
I upgrade pip (in my case, from `pip-20.0.2` to `pip-22.0.4`).

[Bug 1959581] Re: OCFS2 intermittently not mountable on a second Node in Ubuntu 20.04.3 LTS

2022-05-02 Thread Norbert B.
Unfortunately the problem is back in:

Ubuntu 20.04.4 LTS
Kernel: Linux 5.13.0-1027-oracle
ocfs2-tools 1.8.6-2ubuntu1
open-iscsi 2.0.874-7.1ubuntu6.2
... or was never solved an the solution before was just a lucky accident.

Meanwhile I have two servers, who never can mount an OCFS2 volume at the same
time.
Each single server can mount it, when it's not mounted on the other one.
I did tests with all possible virtual machine shapes (AMD/Intel) and network
adapters including hardware-assisted (SR-IOV) networking. The problem remained.

The bug appears in Debian bug reports too:
https://groups.google.com/g/linux.debian.bugs.dist/c/0xf2QXZOpE4

I tested the solution offered there and disabled all quotas on system
and volume, but it had no effect. The problem remained.

===

A second problem appeared:

It seems, that needed OCFS2 modules are no more present in in regular Ubuntu
kernels for Oracle Cloud.
After apt upgrades osfs2 and o2cb service do no more start:
Apr 27 10:05:06 trans2 modprobe[759]: FATAL: Module ocfs2_stackglue not found
in directory /lib/modules/5.13.0-1027-oracle
Apr 27 10:05:06 trans2 modprobe[773]: FATAL: Module ocfs2_dlmfs not found in
directory /lib/modules/5.13.0-1027-oracle

Solution:
apt install linux-modules-extra-5.13.0-1027-oracle

Not really good in production environments, where upgrades can run
automatically.
Was this done by Oracle or by the Canonical team that builds the Images for
Oracle?
As far as I know, Oracle gets ready Images from Canonical.

As far as I can tell, snap doesn't think it has control over Chromium.
Unless apt somehow hides its control over Chromium (which would seem
weird).

Running `sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get upgrade` I also get no
offer to upgrade Chromium.

I should also mention that I specifically run this version:

[Bug 1966572] Re: Chromium Zero Day

2022-03-30 Thread B[]
@mdeslaur I see that the fix appears to be specifically for Ubuntu 18.04
LTS. The Chromium Browser package [1] appears to also support 20.04 LTS.
Should this be marked as 'Fix Released' before all affected versions
have a release?

[Bug 1849084] Re: Freeze on system-resume caused by kwin and amdgpu driver

2022-03-22 Thread P. B.
After 23 months without this Standby/Resume bug, it has now reappeared - See
#30 above
System; Lenovo V155-15API (V155 Series)
Processor; AMD Ryzen 5 3500U
Graphics adapter; AMD Radeon RX Vega 8
Memory; 12288 MB (Windows partition)

Dual booting Windows 10 & Ubuntu 20.04.4 LTS (Ubuntu being main OS on separate
partition)
Bug present under both Ubuntu & Windows
In Windows I once again ran the AMD Driver Auto-detect tool & let it install
the drivers it detected as needed or needing updating. This fixed the problem
in April 2020 but it has had no effect in 2022.

In the Windows partition Lenovo want to install a BIOS upgrade, but I'm
concerned about possible effect on the dual boot.

2022-03-17 Thread Norbert B.
Hello Paride,

there's no package from 2.23 left, all is 2.28 again.

Meanwhile the issue is present again and behaviour is same as in first problem
descrition.
I did the workaround in /etc/logrotate.d/winbind again.

What else could I do to help you finding the problem?

[Bug 1964810] [NEW] Paste figures with spaces should either cut or ignore spaces

2022-03-14 Thread Hector B
Public bug reported:

## Expected behaviour

Numbers with spaces as a thousand separator such as 123 456 copied from
different sources should not generate errors.
Ideally spaces should be either ignored and preserved or cut making 123 456 ->
123456

## Actual behaviour

Numbers with spaces such as 123 456 copied from different sources produce
errors "Malformed expression".
When spaces are manually deleted, the program successfully proceeds.

## Steps to reproduce the behaviour

Start mate-calc.
Copy digits with space as a thousand separator like 123 456.
Paste them in the the program with Ctrl-V
Add + 25 Enter
Confirm error "Malformed expression".

[Bug 1960821] Re: Winbind can no more connect to Windows domain after reload

2022-03-09 Thread Norbert B.
Hello Lucas,

thank you for the detailed description - it did work now.

Result:
In 2:4.7.6+dfsg~ubuntu-0ubuntu2.23test~ppa1 the error is not present or at
least currently not triggerable. I think it is not present, because it began
with the later versions.

So I upgraded again back to 2:4.7.6+dfsg~ubuntu-0ubuntu2.28.

Now it becomes strange: Currently (2.28) the error ist not triggerable too.
Before the down- and upgrade it war triggerable with every /usr/bin/smbcontrol
winbindd reload-config.
But: In the past the error didn't happen on every logrotate calling
/usr/bin/smbcontrol winbindd reload-config too, but on some.

So I can only wait if or when it happens again in 2.28.
Logrotate runs on each Sunday.
Between 2.23 and 2.28 there was the big security fix CVE-2020-25717.
Can there be a reason for this behaviour?

I'm sorry, that I can't give you an expicit result.

** CVE added: https://cve.mitre.org/cgi-bin/cvename.cgi?name=2020-25717

[Bug 1959581] Re: OCFS2 intermittently not mountable on a second Node in Ubuntu 20.04.3 LTS

2022-03-07 Thread Norbert B.
Hello Paride & all,

sorry for the late reply but I was on vacation last week.
I found a solution/workaround now but it's a little bit strange.

Background: Oracle is offering different shapes of virtual machines.
In the OCFS2 cluster we are using:
VM.Standard.E4.Flex (AMD)
VM.Standard3.Flex (Intel)

These machines use different virtual NICs too.

I did upgrades to kernel Ubuntu-oracle-5.13.0.1018.22~20.04.1 (and some
other packages).

After these upgrades the problem was gone in our testing cluster, where
both VMs run on VM.Standard.E4.Flex (AMD).

In the (planned) production cluster, which runs on mixed VMs
(VM.Standard.E4.Flex / VM.Standard3.Flex) the problem was still present.
So I changed the shape from the 2nd VM from Intel to AMD - same as in testing
environment - and the problem was gone too.

In summary:
Upgrade to Ubuntu-oracle-5.13.0.1018 solves the problem, but only when all
cluster machines have same VM shape (and/or possibly same type of NIC).
For the case that the machines run on different VM shapes (and NICs?) the
problem remains the same.

Hello Lena,

Thanks for the repository - very nice of you.
Curently it's not working because of some missing dependencies.
Is it much work, to put the missing modules to the testing repository?

Recommends: samba-dsdb-modules but it is not going to be installed
Recommends: samba-vfs-modules but it is not going to be installed
samba-common-bin : Depends: python-samba but it is not going to be installed

[Bug 1960821] Re: Winbind can no more connect to Windows domain after reload

2022-02-28 Thread Norbert B.
Hello Lucas,

I don't really want to compile an older Samba version or install
multiple single binaries, because I'm testing on our second production
fallback node and we need it in productive and stable condition at any
time.

So do you know any backport repositories with these versions?
With this solution I could downgrade and later upgrade again without the risk
of destroying my productive environment.

(Why doesn't Oracle keep older versions in their repositories?)

2022-02-28 Thread Norbert B.
Hello Paride,

thank you for the detailed instruction - very helpful!
I hope it will work in Oracle environment, because they have their own Oracle
repositories.

For the moment I'm testing with current updates and new kernel
5.13.0-1018-oracle.
The error didn't happen immediately after the update (as it did last time).
So I will test for one or two days before trying to upgrade.

I'll post results as soon as I have such ones.

Hello Paride,

thank you for the effort with the downgrade version.
The problem stays the same in open-iscsi 2.0.874-5ubuntu2.10~focal2.

Should we try a downgrade of ocfs2?

Do you know a description somewhere, how to upgrade an Oracle Focal LTS version

It would be helpful for me and I would like to try it.

Best regards, Norbert

[Bug 1960821] Re: Winbind can no more connect to Windows domain after reload

2022-02-21 Thread Norbert B.
Hello Andreas,

the problem came up the first time on 2022-01-16 and is present till now.
Winbind updates before were:

2021-05-01 06:23:05 upgrade winbind:amd64 2:4.7.6+dfsg~ubuntu-0ubuntu2.21
2:4.7.6+dfsg~ubuntu-0ubuntu2.23
2021-12-08 07:00:42 upgrade winbind:amd64 2:4.7.6+dfsg~ubuntu-0ubuntu2.23
2:4.7.6+dfsg~ubuntu-0ubuntu2.26
2021-12-14 06:59:55 upgrade winbind:amd64 2:4.7.6+dfsg~ubuntu-0ubuntu2.26
2:4.7.6+dfsg~ubuntu-0ubuntu2.27
2022-02-02 06:01:10 upgrade winbind:amd64 2:4.7.6+dfsg~ubuntu-0ubuntu2.27
2:4.7.6+dfsg~ubuntu-0ubuntu2.28

In 2.23 it was definitely not present.
In 2.26 there has been one log rotation with reload without problems.
In 2.27 there were some log rotations without problem, but then it started on
January, 16

On Jan, 13 we had lots of upgrades.
Could it be caused by another upgraded package?

winbind max domain connections = 10
didn't solve the problem.

Winbind does not recover for hours.
We restarted it at the first occurrence after 2-3 hours with hanging services.

[Bug 1960821] [NEW] Winbind can no more connect to Windows domain after reload

2022-02-14 Thread Norbert B.
Public bug reported:

Problem description:

After a reload winbind can no more connect to Windows domain and slows down
other services on the system (maybe only authentication services).
It happened for the first time on January 13, 2022
Then it happend mostly once per week, so we found out, that it came up with log
rotation and reload of winbind.
It is reproducable on our systems with:
/usr/bin/smbcontrol winbindd reload-config
(as it is done in logrotate).

Effect:

1. Winbind loses Windows domain connection, starts to log:
[2022/02/14 11:00:13.872687, 1]
../source3/winbindd/winbindd_cm.c:1258(cm_prepare_connection)
Failed to prepare SMB connection to DC2-CHILD1.child1.parent.cloud:
NT_STATUS_IO_TIMEOUT
[2022/02/14 11:00:33.147954, 1]
../source3/winbindd/winbindd_cm.c:1229(cm_prepare_connection)
  failed tcon_X with NT_STATUS_IO_TIMEOUT

2. Side effect:
- SSH authentication is very slow (SSH login needs minutes or fails)
- SFTP connections run in timeout
- Other services (like Apache) slow down or are not reachable (timeout)

3. The problem disappears after restart of winbind, but in this case the
restart takes very long time:
time systemctl restart winbind
real1m30.285s

Currently we have a workaround in /etc/logrotate.d/winbind:
#/usr/bin/smbcontrol winbindd reload-config
/bin/systemctl restart winbind

Operating System: Ubuntu 18.04.6 LTS
Kernel: Linux 5.4.0-1063-oracle
Samba: Version 4.7.6-Ubuntu 2:4.7.6+dfsg~ubuntu-0ubuntu2.28
(The problem happened in 4.7.6+dfsg~ubuntu-0ubuntu2.27 too)

   winbind refresh tickets = Yes

[Bug 1959581] Re: OCFS2 intermittently not mountable on a second Node in Ubuntu 20.04.3 LTS

2022-02-08 Thread Norbert B.
After Sergio didn't find any corresponding change in OCFS2 tools delta I
could imagine, that there was a change in ISCSI adaption whicht could be
the reason in combination with OCFS2?

Unfortunately Oracle Cloud (OCI) does not offer Impish Indri as cloud image.
They only support the LTS versions 18/20 as oracle build.

What we could offer you, is access to a sandbox installation.
You would not have access to console, but with SSH.
If it could help, I would build such one and would need public keys for the
people, that do the tests.
For details like the public IPs we should use a private communication channel
(email).

[Bug 1959027]

2022-02-06 Thread B-emilio
I see. In that case, I think the remaining issues should be reported to
KDE or Canonical (not sure where does the culprit live).

Might be worth starting with canonical since it seems snap-specific, but
on the other hand this seems specific to snap-on-plasma-on-wayland...
Vlad, Olivier, do you have thoughts on where could the root cause here
live?

Keeping open for tracking for now, but chances are there is little we
can do here on Firefox's side.

Does that happen with other GTK apps ran via snap? I don't think we have

[Bug 1959581] Re: OCFS2 intermittently not mountable on a second Node in Ubuntu 20.04.3 LTS

2022-02-03 Thread Norbert B.
Hello Sergio,

thank you for picking up this bug.
I realize that this is a very difficult problem.

Regarding the possibilty of an upstream bug:

Meanwhile there is a new kernel available: Linux 5.11.0-1028-oracle
I will install it and do tests again.
This can need some days, because the bug does not always occur.
I will inform you as soon as I have results.

The offered solution in
https://support.oracle.com/knowledge/Oracle%20Linux%20and%20Virtualization/2375753_1.html
 looks like this:

###
Cause
The server is running with incorrect system configurations and not following
Oracle's Best Practices for OCFS2.

Solution
Make sure that /usr/bin/updatedb (aka /usr/bin/locate, slocate) does not run
against OCFS2 partitions since updatedb, a file indexer, will reduce OCFS2 file
I/O performance.

To prevent updatedb from indexing OCFS2 partitions, add 'ocfs2' to the
PRUNEFS= and/or list OCFS2 volumes specifically in the PRUNEPATHS list
in /etc/updatedb.conf e.g.

[/etc/updatedb.conf]
PRUNEFS="devpts NFS nfs afs proc smbfs autofs auto iso9660 ocfs2"
PRUNEPATHS="/tmp /usr/tmp /var/tmp /afs /net /ocfs2-data /ocfs2-index /quorum"
export PRUNEFS
export PRUNEPATHS

References
NOTE:237997.1 - Linux OCFS - Best Practices
###

I tried to find the related settings, but:

ll /etc/updatedb.conf
ls: cannot access '/etc/updatedb.conf': No such file or directory

ll /usr/bin/locate
ls: cannot access '/usr/bin/locate': No such file or directory

find / -name "*updatedb*"
/usr/share/vim/vim81/syntax/updatedb.vim
/usr/share/vim/vim81/ftplugin/updatedb.vim

find / -name "*locate*"
=> result contains only entries belonging to "allocate" or "fallocate"

The general settings on the affected systems are the same as on the (working)
Ubuntu 18 and Qracle Linux systems.

Thanks for helping me!

[Bug 1959581] [NEW] OCFS2 intermittently not mountable on a second Node in Ubuntu 20.04.3 LTS

2022-01-31 Thread Norbert B.
Public bug reported:

Environment:

Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)
2 Nodes + ISCSI block volume with OCFS2
Operating System: Ubuntu 20.04.3 LTS
Kernel: Linux 5.11.0-1027-oracle
ocfs2-tools: 1.8.6-2ubuntu1

Problem:

OCFS2 is intermittently not mountable on a second Node.
Sometimes it works for hours and many reboots.
Sometimes it hangs for hours, even after reboot.
In case of error: If OCFS2 is umounted from first node, mount on second node
works.
But sometimes unmount from first node is not possible (hangs and sometimes
whole current SSH shell hangs).

ISCSI volume is attached and visible.
O2CB runs without errors.

In older Ubuntu/OCFS2 version this does not happen, e. g.:
Operating System: Ubuntu 18.04.6 LTS
Kernel: Linux 5.4.0-1061-oracle
ocfs2-tools: 1.8.5-3ubuntu1

Some error and log messages:

[Bug 1958591] Re: [amdgpu] Random noise 'static' display after internal display turned off/on

2022-01-28 Thread Simon B
Hi,
I have been experiencing the same problem for several days. I have to press
escape when I launch my laptop, to display its screen correctly. Otherwise, as
mentioned before, I get a multicolored snow. If my screen goes to sleep, it
also happens.
I use a Tuxedo computer Pulse, with a Ryzen 7 4800h. Under Kubuntu.

[Bug 1955350] [NEW] Financial mode incorrectly places currency for Russian Rouble

2021-12-19 Thread Hector B
Public bug reported:

Open mate-calc, switch to Financial mode, select Russian Rouble from
drop-down menu below.

Expected behaviour - Russian Rouble currency must be placed AFTER the
value, not before.

# Russian Rouble <> USD

1000 руб. = $13.59
USD <> Russian Rouble

$10 = 736,06 руб.

# Actual behaviour now:

Russian Rouble <> USD

руб. 1000 = $13.59
USD <> Russian Rouble

$10 = руб. 736,06

[Bug 1955348] [NEW] File Properties dialog barely fits into display in width under Russian localization

2021-12-19 Thread Hector B
Public bug reported:

In Russian localization ru_RU.
But could be reproduced in other non-English vocalizations as well.

Open caja, right click on a file and watch tabs of the dialog.dialog are

This file "Properties" dialog (RU: "Свойства архива") displays all possible
tabs in one wide line requiring more than 1550px of width to render the dialog.
Under certain display resolutions utmost left and right sides of the dialog are
not visible.

All dialog's tabs must be visible and easily accessible under any display
resolutions.
If dialog's width exceeds an accepted threshold, ideally the tabs should be
presented in stackable form.
This will allow users seeing all possible tabs/actions.
