Hello, after installing Ubuntu 20.04 LTS development branch, i can't boot with kernels 5.3.0-46-generic, 5.4.0-21-generic or 5.4.0-24-generic. I'm booting with: 4.15.0-96-generic I don't know how to identify wich are the errors. I just see the Loading initramfs and get stucked there. I had sound from version 10.04 on. Even on version 12.04 LTS I had sound for a while, then it stopped working without any reason about two weeks ago. I didn't install anything new or make any changes in settings. Only the updates suggested on automatic update manager. Apparently, I'm not the only one with a HP Pavillion DV6 who has experienced the bug. Sorry, i don't know if it i can post it here, but anyway... In my case it had nothing to do with compiz. I had the same problem twice and i solved both on the same way: Reinstalling GDM.
