[Bug 595265] Re: Can not add Facebook account as add button not displayed after authorisation.
The *Add button* not being displayed is due to Facebook throttling Gwibber users? That's very odd. That isn't clear at all from that comment. I thought the comment was about the *other* problems with Facebook (not being able to post or receive messages). If it is to be expected that this problem will continue to occur, can't Gwibber at least be made to detect the situation and pop up some kind of message explaining the problem? I'm sure I'm not the only one who will be confused... -- Can not add Facebook account as add button not displayed after authorisation. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/595265 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 605567] [NEW] Extremely slow painting of launchpad.net bug details page with nvidia driver
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: firefox Launchpad.net bug detail pages are painted extremely slowly by Firefox on my machine. I'm running Ubuntu Lucid 64-bit, and I have the proprietary nvidia driver (from the Ubuntu repositories) installed, version "current". The machine has two 8800 GTX GPU's with 768 MB each, so the available graphics power should not be a problem. It takes many seconds (sometimes tens of seconds) to draw the page, during which the entire computer slows to a crawl. Nothing happens on the screen during this time. Whenever I scroll the page up so that more of the page is revealed at the top of the screen, this is painted extremely slowly as well. Scrolling down (once the page is fully painted) does not produce slow-downs, so the problem appears to be with the content at the top of the page. It appears to be an interaction between Firefox, Launchpad.net and the proprietary NVidia driver. I don't notice slowdowns like this on any other web page (including other launchpad.net pages). Other browsers, such as Chrome, draw Launchpad bug detail pages with lighting speed. And when I use the nv or nouveau drivers the problem does not appear either. Since Chrome can paint the pages at fast speeds, Firefox should be able to as well, so I still think this is a Firefox problem. If there is any way I can determine exactly what it is that is taking so much time and slowing down the entire computer, please let me know! Or if there is any other way in which I can help debug this problem. [Bug 605543] [NEW] Twitter and Facebook still not working in 2.30.1
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gwibber According to bug 530195 the problems in Gwibber should have been fixed in 2.30.1, but no such luck. Both the Facebook and Twitter support are broken, rendering Gwibber useless for me. I just upgraded from Karmic to Lucid. I now have Gwibber 2.30.1 running on my system, and things have gone from bad to worse. Whereas previously it was just Facebook that was working only sporadically, Twitter has now stopped working for me as well. I had a Flickr account, a Facebook account and a Twitter account configured in Gwibber, yet the Message screen remains completely empty. No Twitter or Facebook messages are displayed, even after manually selecting Refresh. On the Home screen the only things that are displayed are Flickr photos, and Twitter messages that are @directed at me. I've attached a log file of a gwibber -d run. As you can see it complains that the com.Gwibber.Accounts and com.Gwibber.Streams services are not not provided by any service files. That sounds bad. I have already tried deleting every Gwibber-related settings directory and cache directory I could find, but none of it made any difference. I also tried removing and re-adding my accounts (during which I discovered that it is actually impossible to add a Facebook account anymore! I'll file a separate bug for that), but that made no difference either. ** Affects: gwibber (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Twitter and Facebook still not working in 2.30.1 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/605543 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 560575] Re: Logs back in when user has logged in somewhere else
Here is the text of the Gnome bug. It's describes the problem very precisely and I really cannot make it any simpler, as it is a complex problem. Also please re-read the second paragraph of comment #10, as I state what I think the bug is there as clearly as I can. If you still don't understand it perhaps it would be better if you asked specific questions so I could answer those. "When Empathy is running, with one or more accounts logged in and in Available status, and one or more accounts off-line and listed as "name in use" because the user has logged in elsewhere; when the idle time-out expires Empathy goes to Away status and logs back in to all the "name in use" accounts, kicking the user out wherever else they had logged in! There are reports that the same thing happens when the computer is no longer idle and Empathy automatically goes back to Available. When *all* accounts are listed as "name in use" Empathy automatically goes to Offline status, and then the problem does not occur. Apparently it only happens when Empathy is still in Available status because not all accounts are off-line. The problem can be simulated by manually setting Empathy to Away status when it is Available and there are off-line accounts listed as "name in use", and observing that all accounts are re-enabled. The correct behaviour would be that Empathy never automatically logs back in to "name in use" accounts, but only does so when explicitly directed to by the user, preferably with one click of a button like Pidgin does." -- Logs back in when user has logged in somewhere else https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/560575 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Thanks for the tip. I found out how to add this parameter, and now it does indeed boot! Now that I can boot the system, how can I find out what's going wrong when the nomodeset parameter is not set? By the way, I don't know if this is related, but now that I can boot I can't start X. [Bug 593002] [NEW] Monitor turned off on boot - never turns back on - (also in recovery mode)
Public bug reported: I installed Ubuntu Lucid Lynx Enterprise Cloud 64-bit, but it is completely unusable, due to the fact that upon booting it turns off the monitor and never turns it back on. This happens also in recovery mode (after a torrent of kernel messages). My hardware is as follows: Motherboard: MSI P6N SLI V2 CPU: Intel Core2 Q6850 3GHz (quad core) RAM: 4 GB Graphics: NVidia Geforce 8800 GTX (768 MB video RAM) Monitor: Samsung SyncMaster 245B (24" wide screen LCD, 1920x1200, attached to DVI connector) This is a workstation class machine which I'm using to test Ubuntu Enterprise Cloud on. I can't provide any of the information requested below, since I can't actually boot into the system. The GRUB menu appears, but if I choose the regular boot option I see the cursor blinking for a few seconds and then the monitor is turned off, and if I choose recovery mode I see a whole bunch of kernel messages flash by and then the monitor is turned off. The screen doesn't just go black, it is turned off completely and never comes back on. The hard disk goes on rattling for a while, so it's possible the system is actually continuing to boot, but there's no way for me to tell. I don't have another monitor to test with, but this monitor works fine with Ubuntu Karmic, and with Windows. In Lucid desktop version the monitor also turns off while booting, but it turns on again when X starts. If someone tells me how I will gladly provide additional information. Perhaps there is a way to get it to boot, and then to somehow access the previous boot attempt's logs? ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Monitor turned off on boot - never turns back on - (also in recovery mode) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/593002 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 533761] Re: Redirected filesystem using bind option suddenly thinks every file is a directory
I think this problem was introduced when kernel 2.6.31-20 was installed. I first noticed it two days after that update. I can't be absolutely sure because the problem is so unpredictable, but when I tried returning to 2.6.31-19 I could not reproduce the problem. I also tried the mainline kernel (2.6.31.12) and the problem occurred there as well, so it does not seem to be caused by an Ubuntu patch. I've reported the bug at bugzilla.kernel.org: https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=15931 ** Package changed: util-linux (Ubuntu) => linux (Ubuntu) ** Description changed: Binary package hint: util-linux - - Please, someone respond quickly. I have left the situation as is so I - can try to examine the situation with your suggestions, but I'm afraid - that when I reboot the situation will have righted itself and it will be - very hard to reproduce. A bizarre problem just occurred on my workstation: a number of directories mounted using the "bind" option has suddenly started to show every file in the directory with the same permissions as the directory, including the fact that it is a directory! In other words, Linux suddenly thinks all the files in my bound directory are directories! I then bind some of the directories from that share in my real home directory. This has worked perfectly for months now. Suddenly, today, all hell broke loose. Programs started going haywire. [Bug 572315] [NEW] Numbered lists are renumbered when replying
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: evolution When you reply to an HTML formatted email in which someone has used a numbered list, and you insert text between the entries of such a list, the entries get renumbered! To reproduce: 1. Receive an HTML-formatted email with a numbered list in it. For instance, a list with three entries: 1, 2 and 3. 2. Reply to the email. 3. Insert text between the list entries in the quoted text, between items 1 and 2, and between 2 and 3. 4. Observe that the list items in the quoted text get renumbered 1, 1 and 1. What's probably happening is that the act of inserting text between the list items makes the editor split the list into two lists, and the HTML renderer just restarts numbering at 1 at the start of each new list. There are two potential solutions: 1. The HTML editor should make sure that when it splits an ordered list, it uses CSS styles to make the second list continue numbering where the first list ended. See for example http://www.arraystudio.com/as-workshop /make-ol-list-start-from-number-different-than-1-using-css.html 2. When replying to an HTML formatted email, Evolution should convert all ordered lists to unordered ones with the number inserted into the text. This way the numbers will stay intact when the list is split. This solution may be more robust, because it does not depend on the recipient's mail client correctly implementing the counter-reset CSS property. Public bug reported: I noticed two things wrong with audio playback of ogg files from the web using the Totem plugin in Firefox: 1. [Bug 533761] Re: Redirected filesystem using bind option suddenly thinks every file is a directory
This is still happening. Every so often I have to unmount all bound filesystems and remount them. Every time this happens it plays havoc with my system, because every file is suddenly a directory, and that directory contains the same directories again, so that any recursive process goes into an endless loop. It seems to happen regularly when I use Filezilla for some strange reason. But not always, and just now it happened while Filezilla was not running at all. It's frustrating and disappointing to get no response whatsoever... When I go to System -> Preferences -> Monitors only the main monitor is listed, even after I click on Detect Monitors. Ubuntu should recognize the other two monitors as well and allow me to use them. Windows Vista has no problem with this. It recognized and used all monitors automatically. I can't install the NVIDIA proprietary driver to see if the monitors are recognized by that driver because of a bug in jockey (see bug 564909). Same here. Three NVIDIA drivers are listed, one of which without a version number, but with a [recommended] tag, all with a green light in front of them, and none of them activateable. When I select each one it just says "this driver is activated but not currently in use" and it gives me a Remove button, but not an Activate button. I'm attaching another screenshot illustrating the problem. I can provide logs or other info on request. [Bug 565851] [NEW] Updating the lucid installer fails with "installArchives() failed"
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: ubiquity While installing Lucid 64-bit beta 2 (from the Live CD installed on a USB stick) I noticed an "update this installer" link. It does not work, however. When I clicked it, a dialog with a progress bar appears which proceeded to download and install various things, but at 85% it failed with the following message: "The installer encountered an error while trying to update itself: installArchives() failed". I have attached a screenshot showing the problem. After that the installer no longer works. Trying to install Ubuntu fails with various error messages. [Bug 298707] Re: wacom tablet stylus input jumps to next screen prematurely in dual monitor set-up
I would love to test it, but unfortunately Lucid Beta 2 seems to be nowhere near production quality yet... 1. It *still* does not recognize my second graphics card, so it only uses my center monitor by default. The tablet works fine on one monitor, but obviously I'd like to use all three of my monitors. 2. I can't install the NVIDIA proprietary driver. The "hardware drivers" applet fails with some unspecified error when I try to install it. 3. After installing all the latest updates (hoping that would fix the hardware drivers applet), Lucid now won't boot at all anymore. It immediately fails with the message "kernel panic-not syncing VFS:unable to mount root fs on unknown-block(0,0)" I gave up after spending an hour trying to get Ubuntu to boot again. I hope the quality of version 10.04 will improve radically before it is released! [Bug 560575] Re: Logs back in when user has logged in somewhere else
OK, I have more data: 1. It only happens when there are also accounts in Empathy which are not logged out. In my case, a Google Talk account, which supports multiple locations. I should have mentioned that, as it now turns out to be relevant. Sorry. In this case Empathy stays on Available status, and when the idle period expires it goes to Away status, logging back in to all accounts. 1b. I've tested this by disabling those accounts, so that *all* active accounts are logged off in Empathy when I start Pidgin. In that case Empathy goes to Offline status, and stays there even when the idle period expires. 2. You can simulate the problem by manually setting Empathy to Away when there are accounts listed as "Name in use" and observing that it logs back in to all accounts. -- Logs back in when user has logged in somewhere else https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/560575 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 560575] Re: Logs back in when user has logged in somewhere else
It happens in five minutes on my system. I think I know what's going on, because I just happened to witness it: I think Empathy logs back in when it goes Away! In the scenario I described above machine A is my laptop and machine B is my workstation. I neglected to mention that on machine B I'm actually using Pidgin, but I don't think that matters. I observed that when I logged in on my workstation, Empathy on the laptop neatly listed the three accounts as "Name in use". But five minutes later, when the screensaver on the laptop kicked in, Pidgin on my workstation got kicked out. When I then looked at what happened on the laptop Empathy had gone to Away status, and had logged back in to all accounts. -- Logs back in when user has logged in somewhere else https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/560575 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 553263] Re: Displayed value in spinner boxes not updated while changing

[Bug 553263] Re: Displayed value in spinner boxes not updated while changing
Wishlist? Isn't that a bit low for a genuine bug, and an annoying one at that? I've noticed that in the low values of the line thickness control, for simple shapes, the displayed value *is* continually updated. I think it's related to the redraw speed of the shape that is being affected. What appears to be happening while I hold down my mouse button is, for each value increase: 1. increase value 2. repaint shape with new value 3. repaint spinner box But this process is interrupted when the value is increased again (apparently that happens asynchronously), and if it was still redrawing the shape at that point the spinner box is never repainted and the displayed value never updated. When the line thickness is low and the shape simple, my PC can repaint the entire shape before the next value increase, so the displayed value gets updated. If the shape is too complex, or when the line becomes too thick, it takes too long to paint the entire shape before the next value increase. I can actually see this happening: while I'm increasing the line thickness, progressively less and less of the shape gets repainted from top to bottom. This could be as easy to fix as to make sure the spinner box is repainted first, and *then* the affected shape. -- Displayed value in spinner boxes not updated while changing https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/553263 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 553263] [NEW] Displayed value in spinner boxes not updated while changing
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: inkscape When increasing the value in a spinner box by clicking and holding the up or down buttons, the displayed value in the box is not updated. You have to guess when you have arrived in the neighbourhood of the value you want and then let the mouse button go, and only then is the value it has arrived at displayed. For example, if you select a shape and open the Fill and Stroke panel and then click and hold the up or down button in the Width spinner box on the Stroke style tab, the line width is increased or decreased smoothly while you're holding the mouse button down, but the value in the box is not updated. Only when you let go of the mouse button is the new value shown. The same goes for the Miter limit spinner box. This is suboptimal. The displayed value should be continuously updated while you're holding the mouse button down. At first I thought the text in the terminal and in the Konqueror window was not affected, but after minimizing and restoring the Konqueror window in which I am typing this a few times the contents of the terminal window, and of this Konqueror window, became jumbled up as well. [Bug 533761] Re: Redirected filesystem using bind option suddenly thinks every file is a directory
It appears to be a recurrent problem. I can unmount the bound directories and mount them again, or reboot, and the problem will be gone. But after a while it recurs. I haven't found a pattern yet as to when it recurs, but I have found a new oddity: Not only does Linux think every file is a directory, but it even thinks non-existant files are directories!!! I can "cd" to a non-existent directory completely successfully as far as the shell is concerned, it even thinks I'm in the directory. Here's a snippet I copy and pasted from my terminal window: pep...@peregrin:~/Documents$ cd aasdghf pep...@peregrin:~/Documents/aasdghf$ cd fnurk pep...@peregrin:~/Documents/aasdghf/fnurk$ cd blah pep...@peregrin:~/Documents/aasdghf/fnurk/blah$ Needless to say, I don't have a directory (nor a file) called aasdghf in my Documents directory. If I do an "ls" at this point I see the contents of the Document directory (with every file listed as a directory with the same permissions as the Documents directory itself). If I try to do the same from /home/pepijn_remote I get: pep...@peregrin:/home/pepijn_remote/Documents$ cd aasdghf bash: cd: aasdghf: No such file or directory This is quite a bad bug. It happens inpredictably (but frequently), there is no workaround and when it happens I can't continue working and have to reboot (or spend a lot of time finding all programs with open files in one of the directories so I can unmount them). I should add that this happened while I was working in my IDE (Netbeans). It wasn't after a reboot, or an install, or anything like that. [Bug 533761] [NEW] Redirected filesystem using bind option suddenly thinks every file is a directory
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: util-linux Please, someone respond quickly. I have left the situation as is so I can try to examine the situation with your suggestions, but I'm afraid that when I reboot the situation will have righted itself and it will be very hard to reproduce. A bizarre problem just occurred on my workstation: a number of directories mounted using the "bind" option has suddenly started to show every file in the directory with the same permissions as the directory, including the fact that it is a directory! In other words, Linux suddenly thinks all the files in my bound directory are directories! Here's the relevant part of /etc/fstab: //diskstation/home /home/pepijn_remote cifs credentials=/home/pepijn .smbcredentials,uid=pepijn,gid=pepijn,iocharset=utf8 0 0 /home/pepijn_remote/Documents /home/pepijn/Documents nonebind0 0 /home/pepijn_remote/Downloads /home/pepijn/Downloads nonebind0 0 /home/pepijn_remote/Public /home/pepijn/Public nonebind0 0 /home/pepijn_remote/Templates /home/pepijn/Templates nonebind0 0 /home/pepijn_remote/eBooks /home/pepijn/eBooks nonebind0 0 /home/pepijn_remote/Archive /home/pepijn/Archivenonebind0 0 As you can see, I mount my remote home directory from my NAS on /home/pepijn_remote using CIFS. I then bind some of the directories from that share in my real home directory. This has worked perfectly for months now. Suddenly, today, all hell broke loose. Programs started going haywire. It turned out that this was because Linux had suddenly decided that all the files in my directories were now directories! As you can imagine my IDE went berserk. To illustrate, here's (the first few lines of) the result of an "ls -al" in /home/pepijn_remote/Documents: total 256 drwxrwxrw- 12 pepijn pepijn 0 2010-03-07 12:24 . drwxr-xr-x 10 pepijn pepijn 0 2010-02-09 22:50 .. -rw-r--r-- 1 pepijn pepijn 14702 2010-02-12 12:43 Afrekening Merlot.ods -rw-r--r-- 1 pepijn pepijn 22287 2010-01-15 19:37 Afrekening New York en Atlanta.ods -rw-r--r-- 1 pepijn pepijn 13153 2010-02-18 11:34 Amerika 2010.ods drwxrwxrwx 3 pepijn pepijn 0 2010-01-06 13:04 Belastingdienst -rw-r--r-- 1 pepijn pepijn 11795 2009-12-05 18:14 certificates.p12 drwxrwxr-x 33 pepijn pepijn 0 2009-12-05 16:32 Correspondentie -rwxrwxrwx 1 pepijn pepijn 402 2009-12-10 21:43 desktop.ini -rw-r--r-- 1 pepijn pepijn 27385 2010-02-26 14:42 Domeinen.ods -rw-r--r-- 1 pepijn pepijn 6633 2010-01-17 14:34 dosemu.out drwxrwxrwx 2 pepijn pepijn 0 2010-01-21 12:51 Downloads Perfectly normal. I'll leave the situation like this for a short while so that someone can *quickly* ask me to try out commands to examine the problem. [Bug 531961] [NEW] Runlevel 1 (single user mode) broken
Public bug reported: When I try to start Ubuntu in runlevel 1 (by appending a space followed by a 1 to the kernel command line in the Grub boot menu), the result is a hung and unresponsive system. It seems to boot normally, but instead of presenting a single user mode shell on the console like I would expect, it tries to start a graphical environment, which displays a dialog box saying something about Ubuntu running in diminished or restrictive mode or something like that and that I have to manually configure the keyboard, mouse, etc. At this point the system hangs. Neither mouse nor keyboard responds, nor can I switch to a text mode console with Ctrl+Alt+F1 or similar. When I boot a system in runlevel 1 I expect a text mode console, not a graphical environment. But if it must boot a graphical environment it should obviously work (the fact that it so often does not work is precisely why it shouldn't even try to start a graphical environment in runlevel 1, but a text mode console). This is on Ubuntu Karmic Koala 64-bits with all the latest updates applied. I don't know if it is used in this environment or not, but just in case I have attached my xorg.conf. Public bug reported: The recovery boot mode is broken. When I select "recovery mode" on the Grub boot selection screen, a recover mode menu is displayed with a number of choices. [Bug 364101] Re: network-manager-openvpn does not support all options supported by openvpn
Here's my vote for being able to use an existing OpenVPN config file. You can import one, but that fails if it's not a configuration network- manager-openvpn knows about. I know I can easily start openvpn from the command line, but as long as I have that network icon there and it has VPN support it would be very nice to be able to use it to start my custom OpenVPN connections. It should not be too difficult to implement. It could be an option on the advanced settings panel. -- network-manager-openvpn does not support all options supported by openvpn https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/364101 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 482680] Re: System Monitor won't close through normal methods, I have to kill the process.
Happening to me too. It seems to be happening since the latest update round, although gnome-system-monitor wasn't updated then. The version of gnome-system-monitor I have installed is 2.28.0-0ubuntu1. On my system too it does not happen all the time. The first time I tried running it with strace it did work, for instance. But it happens more often than not. Since the application is not crashing I don't think backtraces are applicable. I have attached an strace log. I captured it with the following command line: strace -Ff -tt gnome-system-monitor 2> strace-gnome-system-monitor.log I then clicked once on the close button in the title bar (which did nothing), and then ended the program by pressing Ctrl+C on the console. ** Changed in: gnome-system-monitor (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete => New ** Attachment added: "strace output" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/39364904/strace-gnome-system-monitor.log.bz2 -- System Monitor won't close through normal methods, I have to kill the process. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/482680 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 516049] [NEW] After maximizing window, dragging title bar of different window moves maximized window instead
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: metacity Whenever I maximize a window by double clicking on the title bar, if I then try to move a different window by dragging the title bar, the maximized window is moved instead. It doesn't happen if I maximize the window by clicking on the maximize button in the title bar, only when I double click the title bar. I can prevent it from happening by clicking on another window after having maximized the first window, but this triggers another, presumably related bug (possibly even the underlying cause of this bug): When I maximize a window by double clicking on the title bar, and then click on the title bar of another window, the focus is transfered back to the maximized window! I have to click on the other window *again* to give it focus. This only happens when I click on the title bar of the other window, not when I click on the client area of the window. [Bug 495430] Re: Evince fails in printing pdf document
For me it seems to have fixed it. At least, I can now print the document from bug #492850, which I couldn't before, and I have libcairo2 1.8.8-2ubuntu1.1 installed. -- Evince fails in printing pdf document https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/495430 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 513855] [NEW] Results list disappears when focus follows mouse is on
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: deskbar-applet When focus follows mouse is on, if the mouse has to cross a window boundary before getting to the results list, the new window gets the focus, resulting in the results list losing the focus and closing. This is extremely annoying. The normal usage pattern is to hit Alt+F3, type something to search for, and then select the relevant result with the mouse. In practice, when I have focus follows mouse on, deskbar- applet is impossible to use as the list disappears most of the time before I can get to it with the mouse. I think the best way to fix this is to add an option to turn off the dismissal of the results list on focus loss. Or possibly to turn it off automatically when deskbar-applet detects that focus follows mouse is on.
