2010-07-31 Thread chilicuil
As you previously have pointed out, this error was produced after an
accidental hardware failure, so I can guess it's just 'apt-get' who is
in an inconsistent state, please do:

$ sudo apt-get install -f

And then try to update your system again. If that doesn't resolve your
issue please assign the bug to the 'krb5' package and wait for real
developers to dig into your problem.

Cheers

[Bug 610285] Re: touch mouse is not working

2010-07-31 Thread chilicuil
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. Unfortunately, we can't fix it without more information.

Please run the following command which will attach necessary
information:

apport-collect 610285

Bear in mind that you may need to install the python-launchpadlib
package from the universe repository with 'sudo apt-get install python-
launchpadlib'. Additionally, when prompted to give apport-collect
permissions for Launchpad you will need to give it at least the ability
to "Change Non-Private" data as it will be adding information to your
bug report.

If you are using an older release or cannot/don't want use apport
please at least add the following information (pay attention to lspci's
additional options):

First run the following commands:

1) uname -a > uname-a.log
2) dmesg > dmesg.log
3) sudo lspci -vvnn > lspci-vvnn.log
4) cat /proc/version_signature > version.log
then attach the files separately to the bug report (not pasted into comments or
tar/zip-ed).

For your reference, the full description of procedures for kernel
related bug reports is available at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelTeam/KernelTeamBugPolicies. Thanks in
advance!

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. Unfortunately, we can't fix it because your description
didn't include enough information. You may find it helpful to read "How
to report bugs effectively"
http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful
if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem.
We have instructions on debugging some types of problems at
http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures.

At a minimum, we need:
1. the specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the
problem,
2. the behavior you expected, and
3. the behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible).

Thanks!

[Bug 218810] Re: qemulator.py crashed with GError in add_bookmark_response()

2010-07-26 Thread chilicuil
I've added the remote bug report (debian), I've tested the latest
package:

$ dget -xu

$ cd qemulator-0.5/
$ debuild -us -uc
$ sudo dpkg -i ../qemulator_0.5-4_all.deb

And it looks to me like it fixes the issues, this is its changelog:

qemulator (0.5-4) unstable; urgency=low

  * added debian/patches/python2.5_fixes.patch, to fix some tracebacks and some
problems that are amplified with python 2.5 and that result in many
disfunctions running qemulator. (Closes: #438894, #498015, #522089, #453514)
  * debian/control: fixedcapitalization of Python word.
  * debian/copyright: cnaged copyright symbol from (C) to ©, and removed some
spaces from the end of lines.
  * debian/control: bump Standards-Version to 3.8.1, no changes needed.
  * debina/control: added ${misc:Depends} to dependencie field to avoid
 lintian warning.
  * debian/control: move imagemagick from Build-Depens to Build-Depends-Indep.
  * debian/control: moved homepage to the appropriate fied.
  * added debian/patches/desktopfile_fix.patch to remove deprecated encoding
field.
  * debian/watch: updated.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. In order to determine if this issue is plymouth related,
please boot your computer with plymouth disabled and then shutdown to
see if you can reproduce the issue. To disable plymouth for a single
boot, follow these steps:

1. Press Esc during Grub boot delay to access the boot menu.
2. Select your actual Ubuntu boot line and press "e" to edit it.
3. Select the "linux" line and at the end of the line, remove "splash" and
"quiet".
5. Type "ctrl + x" to boot the custom boot line.

In addition you'd like to assign a package to your report to ensure that
it gets looked at by the proper developers. You can learn more about
finding the correct package at

[Bug 519577] Re: package oss4-dkms 4.2-build2002-2 failed to install/upgrade: oss4 kernel module failed to build

2010-05-18 Thread chilicuil
I've looked at the source and it looks like the /var/lib/oss4 path and
the OSSVARDIR var were introduced in the debian/patches/cmd.patch and
debian/patches/os_cmd.patch patches. Also extra files were edited:

$ find |xargs grep  var

./debian/patches/cmd.patch:+#define DEFAULT_OSSLIBDIR "/var/lib/oss4"
./debian/patches/cmd.patch:+/var/lib/oss4/legacy_devices
./debian/patches/cmd.patch:+  if (stat ("/var/lib/oss4", &st) != -1)/* Use
/var/lib/oss4/mixer.save */
./debian/patches/cmd.patch:+  strcpy (name, "/var/lib/oss4/mixer.save");
./debian/patches/cmd.patch:+  strcpy (ossetcdir, "/var/lib/oss4");
./debian/patches/cmd.patch:+settings into /var/lib/oss4/mixer.save or
$OSSVARDIR/mixer.save file.
./debian/patches/cmd.patch:+OSSVARDIR is decided by reading /etc/oss.conf, and
defaults to /var/lib/oss4.
./debian/patches/cmd.patch:+/var/lib/oss4/mixer.save
./debian/patches/cmd.patch:+/var/lib/oss4/dspdevs.map
./debian/patches/cmd.patch:+/var/lib/oss4/applist.conf
./debian/control: This package contains various utilities for configuring
./debian/oss4-base.init:OSSVARDIR=/var/lib/oss4
./debian/m-a/rules:# load generic variable handling
./debian/m-a/rules:# following variables:
./debian/oss.conf:OSSVARDIR=/var/lib/oss4
./debian/oss4-base.dirs:var/lib/oss

Fixing the path /var/lib/oss4 to its original value, /usr/lib/oss4 as
pointed out by Jason could make the trick, I've tried to change it by
myself but unfortunately I couldn't rebuild the package after making the
changes. Maybe someone who has previous experience with quilt/cdbs could
fix it.

[Bug 578129] [NEW] rxvt-unicode doesn't support 256 colors

2010-05-10 Thread chilicuil
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: rxvt-unicode

Hi,

The rxvt program doesn't support 256 colors, as you can see if download
and run:

http://www.cs.rice.edu/~scrosby/software/tf256color/src/256colors2.pl

I'm unable to use CSApprox
(http://www.vim.org/scripts/script.php?script_id=2390) who makes my life
with vim a lot more comfortable.

Someone already has pointed this out on Debian (http://bugs.debian.org
/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=493481) without success, I hope that on
Ubuntu this can be better.

Description:Ubuntu 10.04 LTS
Release:10.04
rxvt-unicode:
  Installed: 9.06-3ubuntu1
  Candidate: 9.06-3ubuntu1

Thanks in advance.

[Bug 543506] Re: Upstart not starting jobs on boot

2010-05-03 Thread chilicuil
I've just installed Lucid and I have the feeling that my problem is
related to this bug. Sometimes, when Ubuntu starts I get this message:

dev/sda2: clean, 2312/231242 files, 213123/2311434 blocks (check in 4 mounts)
init: Failed to spawn rc-sysinit main process: unable to open console:
Input/output error

The only way to fix it is by disabling Plymouth removing the options
"quiet splash" from the starting params.

For the record: I've installed Lucid from the Minimal CD Image and I'm
using Slim as the login manager.

Should I open a new bug report?

[Bug 62244] Re: Debugging mode not enabled in Bochs.

2010-03-24 Thread chilicuil
It's been 4 years since this bug was open and still the bochs package
who comes with Ubuntu does not support internal debugging. I think it'd
be fantastic if Ubuntu had an alternative package with support for the
internal debugger, something like bochs_internal_debugging.bin.

As Arlen pointed out the internal debugger is really helpful when
dealing with bootloaders and the very first processes in kernel
development.

[Bug 518474] [NEW] [needs-packaging] tmux

2010-02-07 Thread chilicuil
Public bug reported:

Tmux is a terminal multiplexer: it enables a number of terminals (or
windows), each running a separate program, to be created, accessed, and
controlled from a single screen. tmux may be detached from a screen and
continue running in the background, then later reattached.

tmux uses a client-server model. The server holds multiple sessions and
each window is a independent entity which may be freely linked to
multiple sessions, moved between sessions and otherwise manipulated.
Each session may be attached to (display and accept keyboard input from)
multiple clients.

[Bug 191889] Re: [MASTER] [WORKAROUND] "Offline Mode" feature fails to detect proper online state for networks that are managed outside of network manager.

have an -f option (at least not in the Jaunty version), I wonder why
ubuntu applications rely on NM if it's incomplete.

[Bug 486096] [NEW] [needs-packaging] eclim

2009-11-20 Thread chilicuil
Public bug reported:

The primary goal of eclim is to bring Eclipse functionality to the Vim
editor. The initial goal was to provide Eclipse’s java functionality in
vim, but support for various other languages (c/c++, php, python, ruby,
css, html, xml, etc.) have been added and several more are planned.

1. The first scenario is for those for which vim is their primary
editing interface. In this scenario you run a headless instance of
eclipse which all vim instances can then communicate with to provide the
various eclipse features.

2. The second scenario is for those who prefer using vim as their main
interface, but frequently end up jumping back to eclipse for any
features not provided by eclim. In this case you can run the eclim
server inside of the eclipse gui and then interact with it via external
vim instances just like the first scenario.

3. The last scenario is for those who wish to use the eclipse interface
full time, but want to use gvim as an embedded eclipse editor. Just like
the previous use case, the eclim server is run inside of the eclipse gui
and the embedded gvim will interact with it just like external vim
instances would.

Compile them both eclim and eclipse due to eclim needs eclipse 3.5.x is
really hard and has so many MBs of dependencies.
