[Bug 483368] [NEW] Critical Virtual Terminal flashing bug etc after upgrade to Karmic.
Public bug reported: After upgrading to Karmic, when I switch to a virtual terminal via ctrl + alt + F1 or the like, I get a weird sequence of illegible chars. It appears to be an odd pattern of flashing underline chars _ as described on: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=8323583#post8323583e I see no VT/tty1 information, but when I type the underline char changes to the text I write. I've had at least 6 comparatively critical bugs since upgrading to Karmic, and I unfortunately don't have the time to keep dealing with them, and am going to have to do a complete reinstall of Hardy or Debian on my home servers. [Bug 331589] Re: Extremely loud and intrusive system beep with (some?) HD Audio devices
People,, I have the same issue.. I've noticed compiz is not acting as expected either. My 3D cube and such are not working since the upgrade from Ibex to Jaunty. If you can,, please check to see if your compiz settings are acting normal. If not, I fear this could be related and should be looked in to further. -- Extremely loud and intrusive system beep with (some?)
