[Bug 876816] Re: Shotwell deletes edited photos after upgrading to oneiric 11.10
Hi Clint, thanks for the response. Actually the upgrade process did not delete the image. Also the images edited with an external editor (GIMP) were deleted. These images are stored with following name (german language): original.jpg becomes original_verändert.jpg in natty and in oneiric naming convention changed. edited photos are now saved as original_shotwell_verändert.jpg. So could be that changing the naming convention causes the edited photos to be deleted. But also the photos edited in shotwell (which are actually not saved as separate files) are reversed to the original version. My images are stored on a ntfs drive due to compatibility reasons with other operating systems. I will try to reproduce this, but meanwhile many of the natty-edited images are deleted and I do not know if I will find some none deleted files. I will send you the db file shortly. [Bug 876816] Re: Shotwell deletes edited photos after upgrading to oneiric 11.10
Hi, yes this happens every time I click on a picture edited in natty. the edited version is deleted. if i mark 10 edited pictures then click to view all marked pictures, then double click one picture of the marked pictures all of them get deleted. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/876816 Title: Shotwell deletes edited photos after upgrading to oneiric 11.10 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/shotwell/+bug/876816/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 877584] Re: shotwell crashes shortly after being startet
I have further information about the crash: The photos are stored on a ntfs drive und there is a shortcut to map the photos folder on the ntfs drive to the original ubuntu photos folder. I also use the drive with Mac OS X on rare circumstances. ntfs was the only format that is suitable for linux/windows and mac. further another reason could be the german interface. I remarked that photos edited in shottwell in natty, were deleted in shotwell oneiric. (the edited versions , the original photo was kept, complete data loss). this might be either because the fotos where named with: originalphotoname_verändert.jpg in natty and originalphotoname_shotwell_verändert.jpg, when they are edited with external editor. but also the changes made by shotwell to the photos made in natty are lost in oneiric, when the file is opened with a double click. also interesting might be the fact, that shotwell only crashes if I do nothing after starting shotwell for approx. 10 seconds. If I open a photo immediatly, shotwell does not crash. so the reason might be some routine that is executed shortly after starting shotwell -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/877584 Title: shotwell crashes shortly after being startet To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/shotwell/+bug/877584/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
