[Bug 54918] Re: DNS-lookup to AAAA (IPv6) doesn't seem to work
It is still an issue for me, with version 3.1.0-4 from the Debian archives. This is also the version Ubuntu is using, so re-opening this bug. [Bug 341411] [NEW] Compiling with -Wconversion gives lots and lots of warning messages in the Qt headers
Public bug reported: I noticed (and I think this is the case with many, many more versions of Qt) that when compiling with -Wconversion, the headers give lots and lots of warnings. For example, when compiling a program containing only #include QChar using g++ -I/usr/include/qt4/QtCore -I/usr/include/qt4 -c test.cpp no warnings appear, but when adding -Wconversion, this is the output: In file included from /usr/include/qt4/QtCore/qchar.h:45, from /usr/include/qt4/QtCore/QChar:1, from test.cpp:1: /usr/include/qt4/QtCore/qglobal.h: In function ‘qint64 qRound64(qreal)’: /usr/include/qt4/QtCore/qglobal.h:1027: warning: conversion to ‘qreal’ from ‘qint64’ may alter its value In file included from /usr/include/qt4/QtCore/QChar:1, from test.cpp:1: /usr/include/qt4/QtCore/qchar.h: In static member function ‘static ushort QChar::highSurrogate(uint)’: /usr/include/qt4/QtCore/qchar.h:295: warning: conversion to ‘ushort’ from ‘unsigned int’ mayalter its value /usr/include/qt4/QtCore/qchar.h: In static member function ‘static ushort QChar::lowSurrogate(uint)’: /usr/include/qt4/QtCore/qchar.h:298: warning: conversion to ‘ushort’ from ‘unsigned int’ mayalter its value /usr/include/qt4/QtCore/qchar.h: In constructor ‘QChar::QChar(uchar, uchar)’: /usr/include/qt4/QtCore/qchar.h:369: warning: conversion to ‘ushort’ from ‘int’ may alter its value /usr/include/qt4/QtCore/qchar.h: In member function ‘void QChar::setCell(uchar)’: /usr/include/qt4/QtCore/qchar.h:377: warning: conversion to ‘ushort’ from ‘int’ may alter its value /usr/include/qt4/QtCore/qchar.h: In member function ‘void QChar::setRow(uchar)’: /usr/include/qt4/QtCore/qchar.h:379: warning: conversion to ‘ushort’ from ‘int’ may alter its value These are unmodified headers. Should I just not compile with -Wconversion, i.e. is this a wontfix bug? I understand that *really* fixing it makes the headers a lot more ugly and complicated, yet it's an ugly bug. ** Affects: qt4-x11 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Compiling with -Wconversion gives lots and lots of warning messages in the Qt headers https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/341411 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Seems like for example SuSE doesn't have this bug because it does not apply things like -Wconversion to files in /usr/include, or something like that. Would that be possible for Ubuntu? On Hardy, IIRC, it was necessary to chmod and chown the .openoffice.org2 directory. The .openoffice.org directory I have has all permissions set fine. However, I've rebooted now and it works fine now. Hummm, the only change I made regarding OpenOffice was installing -java-common, but that didn't fix it immediately. [Bug 340242] [NEW] Desktop goes largely black when modifying height of panel
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: kdebase I'm currently running a live CD of Kubuntu Jaunty RC4. I've booted into this live system by going to Install, then Quit. I don't think this matters a lot, since that makes you boot into a real system as if you chose that option, just mentioning it though. When I clicked Install from the desktop again a moment ago, then clicked Quit, the screen went black for a moment and then it came back up, I'm not sure why that happened. I'm also not sure if that has anything to do with this, but I'm just mentioning this too. Then when I just modified the height of the panel at the bottom, a large part of my desktop went black. I can see the panel, and the top of my desktop including the Desktop Folder, and my windows go on top of the black parts, but I can't really see any icons in the Desktop Folder anymore, for example. I'll attach a screenshot. I'm sorry this bug report can't be of more help, I'm reporting this now because I'm afraid I won't be able to reproduce it after the reboot since I'm not completely sure what exactly caused this. I'm just letting you know now, before this ends up in the final release. :-) Please correct me if I've filed the bug report against the wrong package, too. [Bug 328299] [NEW] testcase.cpp: internal compiler error: Segmentation fault.
Public bug reported: I'm using qt4-x11 version 4.4.3-0ubuntu1.2 from intrepid-proposed. I was trying to compile KMess when I noticed an internal compiler error on using QMaps. I read in the gcc FAQ that these are usually because of errors in any of the code it is trying to compile or link, therefore I am reporting here. Was this tested with the stock Inprepid kernel -security kernel 2.6.27-9 or with the -proposed kerenl 2.6.27-10 (from uname -r). If it is not the -proposed kernel it would be worth enabling proposed and installing and testing the kernel from there. Please see https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation how to enable and use -proposed. Thank you in advance! [Bug 190321] Re: authentication with 00:00:00:00:00:00 timed out wpa_supplicant failure ath_hal crash
I'm having this problem too. I'm trying to associate with a Fonera device. There are a few odd things about this situation. Firstly, when I'm associated to the non-Fonera network called 'dazjorz', everything is fine. Then when I try to switch to the encrypted Fonera network called 'dazjorz2', I keep getting the following errors in wpa_cli: 2Trying to associate with 00:18:84:80:91:c2 (SSID='DaZjorz2' freq=2412 MHz) 2Authentication with 00:00:00:00:00:00 timed out. Also, when I connect to the open Fonera network called 'FON_dazjorz', authentication fails. Here comes the odd part. I rebooted the router, and I was able to associate with it, until the Windows XP laptop associated - at that moment, I got: 2Trying to associate with 00:18:84:80:91:c2 (SSID='DaZjorz2' freq=2412 MHz) 2Associated with 00:18:84:80:91:c2 2WPA: Key negotiation completed with 00:18:84:80:91:c2 [PTK=TKIP GTK=TKIP] 2CTRL-EVENT-CONNECTED - Connection to 00:18:84:80:91:c2 completed (auth) [id=0 id_str=] 2CTRL-EVENT-DISCONNECTED - Disconnect event - remove keys 2Trying to associate with 00:18:84:80:91:c2 (SSID='DaZjorz2' freq=2412 MHz) 2Authentication with 00:00:00:00:00:00 timed out.
