[Bug 1474855] [NEW] Error "Unable to satisfy all constraints on the partition" with three primary Windows partitions
Public bug reported: I am just installing Ubuntu 15.04.2 (amd64) in parallel on a Dell computer. The computer has a Dell-whatevertool-partition (primary) and two more primary System partitions used by Windows 7. When I selected the default option to install Ubuntu in parallel, I got the "Error!!!" (3 exclamation marks?!) "unable to satisfy all constraints on the partition", though there was already enough free space at the end of the disk. I had to go the manual way, creating an extended partition etc. which then worked smoothly. This could, however, be a showstopper for a less experienced user. ** Affects: ubiquity (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1474855 Title: Error "Unable to satisfy all constraints on the partition" with three primary Windows partitions To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubiquity/+bug/1474855/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1132584] Re: cedarview-drm kernel module fails to build on kernels > 3.2.x [error: implicit declaration of function 'do_mmap']
That method worked for me downgrading from 12.04.2 to the 3.2 kernel: http://askubuntu.com/a/267782 I have now successfully installed the binary blob driver and can finally watch videos with vlc, again. *g Yeah, the netbook did initially work with the Ubuntu version Asus had preinstalled. But they a) do not deliver a recovery medium and b) after a repair - change of harddisk - I got the computer back from Asus with an unformatted harddisk and the comment from the support, that I should just download Ubuntu, as they will not provide any download or medium. Daniel, your comment "Simply buying something because of the brand/logo in it is a bad idea, whether it's a computer or a car." is very true... *g The thing is, that I was stupid enough to trust the brand/logo "Ubuntu certified" on my Asus EEPC 1225C, which came with Ubuntu preinstalled. :( The recommendation to "sudo apt-get install xserver-xorg-lts-precise sudo apt-get purge xserver-xorg-lts-quantal xserver-xorg-lts-raring linux-generic-lts-quantal linux-generic-lts-raring" resulted for me (starting from 12.04.2 i386) in a system that did not load X any more, so be cautious with it! [Bug 1159140] Re: Asus 1225C crashes constantly with (L)Ubuntu 13.04
And again, still present in Ubuntu 13.04 final (amd64): The computer booted flawlessly 6 times into the livecd, but when shutting down the last time, it froze stilly being in Unity. The next two times, it crashed already during boot. This is something, I already realized the last times: When the computer crashes once, the probability is much higher, that it crashes the next boot, as well. Booting into Lubuntu 12.10 worked without a problem. Maybe this is related to the Intel graphics driver? [Bug 1159140] [NEW] Asus 1225C crashes constantly with (L)Ubuntu 13.04
Public bug reported: I have a problem with the Asus 1225C and several variants of Ubuntu 13.04 (and I have to hurry up writing this, before it crashes again): Daily-live images (last one tested was from two days ago) as well as Lubuntu 13.04 Beta1 crash during boot from USB in 3 out of 4 tries: I get the very simple Grub menu and when I select "Try...", the screen turns black for a while without the possibility to set language etc. After a while, the startup screen for (L)Ubuntu shows. But most of the time (3 out of 4), the moving dots will stop at some point and the computer freezes. No chance to switch to tty1 or anything. When I do finally get into X, chances are good, that it crashes within the next 5 minutes, at least for Ubuntu with Unity. Ubuntu 12.04 and 12.10 run stable on this machine (though Unity is incredibly slow in 12.10 due to lacking graphics acceleration). I think this is a graphics problem of the "Intel Corporation Atom Processor D2xxx/N2xxx Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 09)" at the kernel level. [Bug 575812] Re: revtex4-1 should be upgraded to bugfix release on 3/15/2010
The natbib problem I had was not related to bug 578693. Natbib in Natty works together with the Revtex-version that comes with Natty. [Bug 502955] [NEW] Keyboard layout sometimes used, sometimes not
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: texmaker I have a German installation (and German keyboard) of Ubuntu 9.10, but I use the keyboard layout 'USA alternatvie international'. This works fine in all applications except texmaker. The option 'separate layout for each window' in system -> keyboard settings is deactivated. When I start texmaker, and want to type for example 'ä', I directly get ¨ wihtout having the chance to put the dots over the a. Clicking a menu item (e.g. help -> about) or switching to another window and then back to texmaker, fixes this, I can use the layout as I do in all other windows. [Bug 502134] [NEW] Octave should use GNUTERM=wxt by default
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: octave3.2 When Gnuplot is started directly from the terminal it uses terminal type wxt by default, which gives you extra options like zooming into a plot etc. But when Gnuplot is started by Octave for plotting, terminal type x11 is used, resulting in less functionality. [Bug 449430] [NEW] [Dell Inspiron 1501] hibernate/resume failure
Public bug reported: Using Karmic daily-live 2009-10-09 with all updates applied. This already happened twice for me: Having the power cable plugged in, I closed the laptop lid. Opening it after some time again, my machine was still on, but then started to go to suspend-to-RAM. Then I removed the power cable and plugged it in again. Some seconds later, the machine seemed to try to go to suspend-to-disk: The screen became blurry orange not showing anything and the harddisk was working. After some time, it switched off. But rebooting, Karmic did just a normal boot, not trying to recover the old session. I did not change any power management settings.
