[Bug 1962795] [NEW] sshpass terminates when running a remote script if the script executes a program that outputs the text'assword'
Public bug reported: I am trying to automate installing the Teradata database. The tdvm_init process (a python executable, not that it matters), prompts for a password using the following line of text "Please enter the Root Password if it has been changed by the user. Press Enter to use the default Password:" sshpass sees the text 'assword' and interprets it as meaning that the password provided to sshpass was not accepted and terminates. I guess this probably falls into the grey area between bug and ER. My suggestion would be to add a flag that tells ssh to stop monitoring for the 'assword' string after the first occurrence of the string has been detected. ** Affects: sshpass (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Summary changed: - sshpass terminates when running a remote script if the scroipt uses the word 'assword' + sshpass terminates when running a remote script if the script executes a program that outputs the text'assword' -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1962795 Title: sshpass terminates when running a remote script if the script executes a program that outputs the text'assword' To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/sshpass/+bug/1962795/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1947379] Re: Ubuntu 21.10 Install Fatal Error
Norbert (nrbrtx) my ISO is Ok with the same checksum. I found a solution for who is facing the same problem: My thinkpad was with Ethernet Cable and plugged on dock. So I just ejected it from dock and installed the system disconnected from ethernet. Installing is going OK from now, as EFI. As I can see, to reproduce this problem, it is a concern with dock hardware as the partman daemon can´t find the hard drives/SSD and was looking for a RAID controller, that is not found, giving the error logged on journalctl. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1947379 Title: Ubuntu 21.10 Install Fatal Error To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu-mate/+bug/1947379/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I found a workaround for .thunderbird. I put a character before the dot, copied it into the home directory, then renamed it after the transfer had completed the copy. [Bug 1554967] Re: Default installation fails because it cannot delete swap partition
You wouldn't see anything there, as I used fdisk from a CD (not the live CD; another boot disk that boots straight into a terminal. It was quicker for me, as I'd already ejected the live-CD. The error was from gparted, and it simply said 'Failed to delete swap partition'. I then tried to use gparted manually from the live CD and got the same error. I'll be re-installing again soon, bit not 'till after Easter. The top panel menus disappeared again after yesterday's update. [Bug 1555633] Re: unity command hangs on ubuntu 16.04
I re-installed at the beginning of this week. The iso is dated Monday, so I installed either Monday or Tuesday. I re-formatted the drive, and did a complete re-install following the defaults. If you re-installed using any other method without clearing the drive first, you will find the problem travels with the install. I say this from previous experience. If that fails, it must be hardware specific. The problem for me disappeared the re-install before last - about one or two months ago. Can you say exactly how you re-installed? I recognize the problem, and it didn't go away until I did the above. I've never been able to go through a complete test cycle without doing the above at least twice. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1555633 Title: unity command hangs on ubuntu 16.04 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/unity/+bug/1555633/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1554967] [NEW] Default installation fails because it cannot delete swap partition
Public bug reported: Yesterday, I re-installed Xenial giving the instruction 'use entire hard drive'. It failed because it could not remove the swap partition. I tried gparted, and saw the error. I had to drop into a terminal and use fdisk to get rid of the swap partition before I could make the default method use the entire hard drive. I can live with it until the final release, but thought I ought to mention it. + --- + ApportVersion: 2.19.4-0ubuntu1 + Architecture: amd64 + AudioDevicesInUse: + USERPID ACCESS COMMAND + /dev/snd/controlC0: barry 1541 F pulseaudio + /dev/snd/controlC1: barry 1541 F pulseaudio + CurrentDesktop: Unity + DistroRelease: Ubuntu 16.04 + HibernationDevice: RESUME=UUID=675c4109-33df-4762-958c-10d7edcb0a20 + InstallationDate: Installed on 2016-01-29 (0 days ago) + InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 16.04 LTS "Xenial Xerus" - Alpha amd64 (20160129) + IwConfig: + enp3s0no wireless extensions. + + lono wireless extensions. + MachineType: System manufacturer System Product Name + Package: linux (not installed) + ProcFB: 0 radeondrmfb + ProcKernelCmdLine: BOOT_IMAGE=/boot/vmlinuz-4.3.0-7-generic root=UUID=95ba343a-a3dd-4284-a40d-5ea1922fe913 ro quiet splash vt.handoff=7 + ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 4.3.0-7.18-generic 4.3.3 + RelatedPackageVersions: + linux-restricted-modules-4.3.0-7-generic N/A + linux-backports-modules-4.3.0-7-generic N/A + linux-firmware 1.155 + RfKill: + + Tags: xenial + Uname: Linux 4.3.0-7-generic x86_64 + UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) + UserGroups: adm cdrom dip lpadmin plugdev sambashare sudo + _MarkForUpload: True + dmi.bios.date: 12/02/2014 + dmi.bios.vendor: American Megatrends Inc. + dmi.bios.version: 2101 + dmi.board.asset.tag: To Be Filled By O.E.M. + dmi.board.name: M5A78L-M/USB3 + dmi.board.vendor: ASUSTeK Computer INC. + dmi.board.version: Rev X.0x + dmi.chassis.asset.tag: Asset-1234567890 + dmi.chassis.type: 3 + dmi.chassis.vendor: Chassis Manufacture + dmi.chassis.version: Chassis Version + dmi.modalias: dmi:bvnAmericanMegatrendsInc.:bvr2101:bd12/02/2014:svnSystemmanufacturer:pnSystemProductName:pvrSystemVersion:rvnASUSTeKComputerINC.:rnM5A78L-M/USB3:rvrRevX.0x:cvnChassisManufacture:ct3:cvrChassisVersion: + dmi.product.name: System Product Name + dmi.product.version: System Version + dmi.sys.vendor: System manufacturer ** Attachment added: "AlsaInfo.txt" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1539939/+attachment/4560093/+files/AlsaInfo.txt -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1539939 Title: missing menu in top panel To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1539939/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1535677] [NEW] Double-click does not work properly in low-level sub-directories.
Public bug reported: Double click works with great difficulty in very low level sub- directories. It works usually OK in ~/home/xxx/yyy, but the deeper I get, the worse is the problem, for example, in ~/Documents/urc/tls/2015-2016, I frequently have to try double-clicking two or three times - the frequency seems to vary! Double clicking on items in that directory, or in any lower level exacerbates the problem. I frequently use directory trees of seven or eight sub levels. This makes the problem really annoying.
